We stayed at this hotel for a night as we had a quick break in the city. The price we paid was excellent and included breakfast. The receptionists were very friendly and polite. We were given a choice of whether we wanted a room on the lower floor or a higher one. We ended up having one in the middle on the 10th floor. The room was very comfortable and clean. The shower was lovely and warm with shower gel and shampoo in pump dispensers. The bed was comfortable and both sides of the bed had reading lights and plug sockets. The breakfast was lovely, a cooked breakfast which wasn’t greasy, croissants and a first that I’ve seen, a waffle maker!! The only little issue I have is a personal one in that I found the pillows uncomfortable but that just me. Also be aware that there is a lot of construction work being done in and around Broad Street, however we couldn’t hear them from the room. Overall a great hotel, we would stay here again. Well worth the price, definitely value for money. Collapse

I stayed here whilst attending a conference. The room was nice and the free Wi-Fi was reliable. My only problem was hearing the nightclub at street level below my room on the 13th floor. I was not warned of this potential noise when I checked in and have no idea how loud this must be on the lower floors. (Saturday night). The breakfast was lovely and had good choices. The staff were helpful. Collapse

This is the second time I stayed at the hotel. First time was in October 2017 and this time around 14-16th April. In Oct 2017 few mates of mine and I had a smooth stay so I thought why not stay there again. The hotel is clean, the staff at most still as friendly and the fact it is close to all the bars and clubs on broad street is brilliant. My first stay was so smooth compared to this one however. Firstly when we checked in on 14th April the trainee staff gave us one double bed when our booking was for a twin room. We had to go up to 8th floor and then come back to third floor (reception) to get our room changed. Fortunately the receptionist (this time somebody who wasn't trainee) changed the room with no problem. Thank you for that. During the initial check-in the trainee informed us that breakfast was served until 11Am every morning. On Monday morning we went to get our breakfast at 10.30AM; guess what the kitchen was closed and there was no breakfast. When we went to reception and queried it we were told that the late breakfast until 11Am is only on weekends. Really disappointing to say the least as it meant I had to have tea and biscuit for breakfast as I wasn't too bothered to go out looking for food. The worst bit was the receptionist wasn't apologetic which is disappointing. I don't mind being served by a trainee but please ensure that she has somebody shadowing her so that errors aren't made and customers like me don't feel disgruntled. Collapse
Terrible service, much left to be desired.

I visited this hotel with two of my friends as we were attending the comic convention that was being held in the NEC. We arrived early in the morning to leave our bags, so that we didn’t have carry them around with us; the receptionist was short with us and we ended up feeling an inconvenience. Later on, after a long day at the convention, we arrived back to check in. Once again, we were greeted in a rude manner by another receptionist who clearly didn’t want to be there. The room was tidy and the beds were made up ready for us - we had gone for a triple which required for the sofa bed to be made up as well. The biggest problem was to come - after a long day at the convention, surrounded by thousands of sweaty people in a tin can building, we obviously wanted to shower and get clean. My friend went to get in the shower and we quickly discovered that there was no hot water. We voiced our concerns to the hotel who reassured us that they were looking into it and it wasn’t just us experiencing this problem. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept trying it with no luck. Check out time came and we were not feeling refreshed or happy. We arrived at the check out desk to a mob of angry people who were, like us, not happy with the inability to shower. The receptionists were issuing refunds left right and centre to people. After about half an hour of waiting, it was our turn to check out and dispute our payment; the receptionist informed us that we would get a full refund but as we had gone through a third party, we would need to go through the correct channels. We accepted this, sent off the correct emails only to find that the hotel would not accept responsibility for this; that they have no evidence of anything being wrong during our stay. I was appalled, especially since the Hampton by Hilton advertise a satisfaction guarantee and we were definitely not satisfied. Collapse
