I cannot fault the venue. It was easy to book and they had a brochure of menu options we could take away, so it was easy to show the whole family and choose which we wanted. On the day we were greeted on arrival and they'd checked we were happy for them to start serving the food. The hot options were indeed hot and even though at the start it didn't look like there was a lot of food it's because they kept refreshing the plates of food so it was all as fresh as possible. I found the venue and toilets to be clean. They also had set aside a memory table for us to display the items and photos we wanted to show and share with people. There is a bar too so if people wanted to have alcoholic or other soft drinks that was also an option. We weren't rushed at all and stayed for quite a long time talking and remembering the old times. I cannot fault the venue and they made a potentially stressful day effortless. Thank you. Collapse

Unfortunately we had a group of people who decided to have a birthday party in the room next to ours. We thought that we might get some assistance from the night staff to help us get some sleep - how wrong could we be... To be told there is nothing they can do and for a member of staff, the duty manager no less, to tell us that we were taking the p**** was unbelievable. I have never met such a rude person in my life - why this individual is working in the hospitality industry I will never know. Completely spoiled the entire weekend and left a very sour taste. Not surprisingly we won’t be making a return visit. Collapse

Stayed here for a family wedding. The public areas are lovely and well kept, the staff were lovely too, very impressed. Despite the hotels DJ playing the wrong song for the first dance. It’s a shame the same can’t be said for the hotel rooms, they are very dated, the photos on the website are not the room you get, we had a family room, the carpet was ripped, very dated furniture and a pint glass with mouldy beer in it was left next to the bunk bed, it was gross just glad my young children didn’t drink it. Our room was directly above where the music was coming from, couldn’t have the windows open in the kids room on the hottest day of the year. Not an ideal part of the building to have a family room. Another family members room had cigarette burns in the carpet. The hot breakfast was not cooked fresh to order, as mentioned in the information folder in the room. Was not worth the £110 I paid (apparently a cheaper rate as was a wedding booking) would have been cheaper to book with an online booking site. Collapse

We were booked into this hotel by friends who we were joining for a weekend away in Hadlow. The gardens are beautiful, the look of the hotel from the outside is stunning, the reception team are very welcoming. I didn't realise that there is a dress code for the hotel, which made me feel slightly out of place, however this wasn't an issue while we were staying there. When visiting the bar, there was no-one available to serve us, we had to spend a few minutes to go and find someone. I think this is because there was a party on later which they must have been prepping for. We didn't eat at the hotel during our stay, we went out, although afterwards we went to one of their other bar areas which was well staffed. The staff were excellent and friendly. The room itself was very nice, the bed was very comfortable. The only problems we had with the room is the showers aren't that great and the water temperature fluctuated; and unfortunately the party that was happening at the hotel went on until about 5am in the morning and we were kept up during the night. The rooms don't really keep out the sound happening in the rest of the hotel. I know everyone likes to have a party but surely the staff must realise that other non-party guests would like to get some sleep before a long drive home the following day? Collapse
