We enjoyed our break but there were aspects that we found disappointing... We had booked a twin room and were given a double... we had to traipse back down and queue again for ages.. The reception was a computer down and the staff were very busy with large groups of golfers... hen/stag parties... The hotel stated that no hen/stag parties were allowed but it was full of them and the pool area was really noisy and rowdy..The food was not of a good standard .. My pork medallion was raw and my breakfast omelette was uncooked in the middle... The buffet food was cold and very greasy... My friend ended up with an upset tummy... We enjoyed ourselves and the staff were lovely but we feel it was an overpriced holiday... Collapse

We visited here in April 2018. We have stayed in the H10 Waterloo, London, twice, and found this to be an excellent hotel so when we saw an H10 in Puerto Banus we had no hesitation in booking it. Let me start by saying the staff here are excellent. If you are a Privilege guest there is a seperate check in for you. If you ask for something the staff are very polite and excellent at getting things done for you. That’s probably the only positive thing about this hotel. This hotel needs a good manager who will grab it by the scruf of the neck, shake it, and put it down in good order. There are a lot of things that need to be improved. Firstly, we hired a car and there is NO specific hotel parking. It is street parking and you are lucky if you get a space. My wife is disabled. There are just two disabled spaces outside this hotel. The hotel has steps to go down to reception. No ramp. If you have a wheelchair you have a long walk around the road to reception. Let’s mention the Privilege section. All the Privilege rooms are on the 5th floor. The rooms were a disappointment. They are basic. We expected better. There is a Nespresso coffee machine which is replenished each day. The remote control for the TV needed batteries. There are no drawers to keep your items in. There are shelves but these are very low and we used the bottom shelves for shoes rather than clothing which would have been basically on the floor. The room is made up twice a day which is nice. The shower is BASIC!! It is a hand held shower attached to the wall. The water flow cannot be changed as the head does not move. The toiletry items are not replaced. I used the razor and did not get a new one. There are 2 bath towels which are not luxurious by any means. The bathrobes are not soft to the touch. The sink unit is basic and the water does not drain properly. The balcony is quite small and the furniture for the balcony is basic plastic chairs and table. The balcony was also very dusty and did not seem to be cleaned often. We did have a problem with ants in our room. I informed reception who were very surprised and got someone to look at it straight away. It alleviated the issue but we still had the odd ant appear. When we arrived the room was very warm and I could not get the air conditioning to work. When I asked at reception I was told that the air conditioning was turned off in the whole hotel as the weather still fluctuated between hot and cold?? Most people travelling to Spain are here for the weather and 20 degrees is hot compared to the UK. Stop trying to save money at guests expense and turn on the aircon. Let guests regulate the temperature in the room not the hotel! The Privilege room has an excellent array of drinks from soft drinks to beer and all spirits which are fee to use as you wish. It is a quiet area, but I have two issues with this room. For some reason it does not have air conditioning although there are vents in the room for it. It does get stuffy. It closes at 10pm? Why 10? Why not 11 or 12? Again the TV remote needed batteries?? When you are sunbathing by the pool there is a Privilege members area that you can sit in with better sun beds and a jacuzzi. The problem is that this area does not get any sun until the afternoon so if you want sun in the morning you cannot use this area. Also The Privilege membership for drinks does not extend outside of the Privilege room so when you are by the pool if you need a drink you have to queue to get it and pay for it. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to have a Privilege waiter and offer at least soft drinks by the pool for free? Also, put a complimentary water bottle in the room? Ice machines are non existent. The restaurant area for the buffet is not very inspiring. The buffet food is very Spanish and I found it difficult to find anything I wanted to eat. There is an area where they will cook meat and fish for you and I used this mostly. There are few vegetables but plenty of salad. One evening I asked for stir fry to be cooked for me only to be told it had finished at 7:50 PM?? As Privilege guests you are supposed to get a complimentary glass of Cava. This is hit and miss. There are not enough staff to work the buffet restaurant especially for breakfast. People arrive for breakfast and are looking for tables as they have not been cleared from previous guests. On occasions we have had to ask for coffee as nobody bothered to attend to us. Also waiters collect plates across people so if you are eating you could get an arm in your way. If I had to eat inThe buffet every night I would go elsewhere. As a Privilege guest you can eat some meals in the La Brasserie which is included in your price. This restaurant is very nice and the service is excellent. However, the menu is limited and did not change throughout our stay. There are other items but these are extra to your inclusive Privilege deal. To sum up, this hotel need a lot of improvements. I would not bother to stay as a Privilege guest again as the price outweighs what you get from it, unless you just take advantage of the drinks available in the Privilege room. There is so, so, much potential to improve this hotel and with the right management I’m sure this could be so special but it’s not at the moment. Our first visit to the H10 Andalucia and we were far from disappointed. The hotel has a distinctly Spanish setting with all the convenience of a modern hotel. Our rooms were clean and well serviced and the restaurants had a wide variety of dishes all to a good standard. Where this hotel really wins is the level of customer service. It was like a breath of fresh air. From the outset, the reception staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The weather was poor during our first couple of days but the concierge managed to conjure up some umbrellas from somewhere. The restaurant hostess made everyone feel welcome and the young lady who looked after us in the bar was totally charming. We had an issue with noisy idiots in another room but this was dealt with quickly and professionally by the reception staff and management. Other hotels and restaurants could learn so much from this hotel. If the management read this, please pass on our appreciation to your staff. Collapse

My wife and I stayed during the first week of April for a short 4 night break. Originally room and breakfast, we then noticed good reviews for the food and added the evening meal option. We found it to be all round very good. The staff were probably the most outstanding thing of all in that everyone we dealt with was pleasant and helpful and a pleasure to deal with, from reception, bar staff, restaurant waiters, cleaners and even the maintenance guy! We had a small shower problem in that the holder for the shower head had worked loose - these things happen, especially if a previous occupant has not taken care. We reported it to room staff and the maintenance guy was there within 5 minutes and fixed it with a smile. The rooms were nicely decorated and very cleanly prepared, overall decoration standard and maintenance is very good. The evening buffet is very good, very well presented and always some additional meats and fish to be cooked if you prefer. Restaurant staff were good too. Location is good, everything is within a short walk. Main Puerto Banus area accessed via a subway under a busy road, but just a 5 minute walk. The hotel is adult only and this suited us as it made the pool area quite and relaxed even though fully occupied. The gym room is small and fairly basic but we only ever saw 3 other people in there so it worked for us. The small cocktail bar made good cocktails at reasonable prices. Entertainment was basic, a little limited but that's not really an issue for us. If the Hotel can keep its service level and value as we found it we will definitely return. Very good. Collapse

First - location: H10 is on the wrong side of the busy road for the beach. Inbetween Marbella and Puerto Banus. The beach area is reached via an underpass under this road. It has several steep flights of steps down and then up at the other end. Some steps do not have any handrail, and the underpass is a bit grotty. Not what I would expect when booking the H10. The H10 has lots of flights of stairs, some down to the pool area. There are several cafes and bars around the hotel, though not a big choice, some were closed during our visit. If a visit to Marbella is required it is not within walking distance, it's several miles away. The hotel is very clean with shiny floors in the reception area. Our room was on the top floor reached by two lifts and a long walk along a corrider. The suite was very bright and cleaned every day, but during our stay the weather was very wet and windy and the patio doors were ill fitting which we stuffed with paper to stop them rattling. The flooring is noisy to walk on. If a safe is required it is nearly 4 euros a day to hire. Some of the clientele that use this hotel did not live up to expectations. Gangs of men, some quite scruffy, and an amount of drunken goings on. Some of the evening entertainment was awful, out of tune and extremely loud. The dining room can be hectic, and also finding a made up table. It was noticeable that sometimes spilt food and drink was left on the floor, causing a safety hazard. The staff delivering tea or coffee was hit and miss, sometimes the coffee was only luke warm. We also had words with who we think was the 'head waiter' about bringing in our own bottle of water. His attitude was very 'off' and impolite. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner but the breakfast sausages were revolting, either spicy or garlic, ( please not at breakfast). The reception staff were polite and helpful and the H10 offers some local trips free. The wifi was generally good. We weren't overly taken with the location of this hotel, right by the busy, noisy road, and the outlook from our room was over cars parked and the local roadworks equipment. The sea could be seen in the distance. On the whole just about makes it to a four star in our view. Collapse
