The Grove, London's country estate, is more than a five star hotel. Set in 300 acres and only 18 miles from central London, the former home of the Earls of Clarendon is also a luxury 18 hole golf resort, a fabulous spa and unique venue for meetings, weddings and celebrations.
Hidden away in the heart of this Grade II Listed mansion near London, each bedroom is a fabulous blend of period style and original modern art and furniture. You could opt for the contemporary deluxe rooms in the West Wing where the hotel stretches through gardens towards Sequoia Spa. With 217 bedrooms you have the choice of spending the night in a superior bedroom, a deluxe bedroom or even one of 26 phenomenal Mansion bedrooms. All of the bedrooms are non-smoking.
There are three restaurants including the to-dine for Colette's. A Walled Garden with urban beach and extensive leisure facilities. Anouska's Kids' Club, graded outstanding by OFSTED, makes The Grove parent and child-friendly.
Lovingly restored to stunning effect, the property fuses contemporary design and original period architecture with exceptionally caring and professional service.

On arrival we were impressed with the fresh bright classy well presented reception area greeted very well from our transport to main desk Maid to feel very welcome Waiting on the beautiful and outstanding grounds before handed keys to our rooms We toured around and had light lunch that filled the entire plates ! Room was everything needed Children were never bored Wether you wish a quiet break or relaxing or just whatever suits your needs this is highly recommend to stay or even if you don't stay it caters for a day out ! We stayed a couple of nights for the Warner brothers studio Harry Potter tour and it all just went perfectly well Will definitely return again Collapse

The rooms are very average indeed. As is the food. In both the "Buffet" which I frankly cant fathom could be 5 star and also in the pub. The lounge similarly is very average food with slow service. This place attracts celebrities and Im not surprised as I saw one with three hotel staff meeting his every need. But for normal people this is a very low grade experience. The Family area in the Walled Garden is very nice and I do recommend this as a great place to hang out, where the staff do look after you. However the lame food is the same. Such a shame as it could be so much better. Just mass market fare with limp salad and no taste, overcooked and over priced. My main problem was the bed was so hard that I suffered a massive deterioration in my back condition. We asked for a further topper but it didn't help. We had 5 rooms for 7 days and everyone felt let down by the place and would not go back. I think the reliance on conferencing and weddings makes general service suffer. Collapse

My husband and I stayed at the Grove this weekend. We were bitterly disappointed. This was our first weekend away following the birth of our son and a weekend we have been planning for 10 months - it is just such a shame that we chose to stay here. On arrival at the hotel we were shown to our "deluxe room" in the West Wing. This was no better than a Premier Inn room. The ugly yellow sofa was marked, the bedspread ripped, the brown mottled carpet looks more well suited in a 1980's pub and the ugly industrial recycling bin was the only centre piece in the room. There was rubbish and linen containers stacked along the corridor and right outside our door. We were then offered a mansion room. This was markedly better, but had a ripped carpet and chipped and marked shutters. Following a complaint to Shaun, a member of guest relations, we were given a third room which was excellent. Shaun did his very best to remedy the situation and should be commended for this and the assistance he kindly gave us this weekend; but it is clear that he has an impossible job of trying to defend the indefensible at this hotel. Sadly the wholly unacceptable condition of some of the bedrooms is not the only issue with this hotel. Quite simply - it just isn't 5* standard. We had a drink early evening in the summer of love garden area (which aesthetically is lovely). We ordered two cocktails, were given one, and then 15 minutes later chased our other drink which had been forgotten about. The staff were lovely and apologetic about this - but it was just one of a litany of errors that happened this weekend. Breakfast the next morning was just laughable - my omelette was so bad it would struggle to be described as such and my husband's poached eggs were hard and cold. It was clear that the member of staff put on the egg stand was totally out of his depth and looked very stressed. Whilst this is in isolation is an incredibly minor thing, it's reflective of the complete faulty towers feel this hotel has. There were some positives - we had a lovely meal in Colettes, with excellent service and food. The spa is lovely and our treatments were brilliant - both our therapists were highly professional. The grounds, especially the walled garden, is lovely Sadly, the standards and conditions of the room and the plethora of service errors completely overshadowed these positives. Having stayed at many hotels, of a variety of standards, we are both genuinely at a loss as to how this hotel can be described as 5* star. One look at the "deluxe"rooms will tell you otherwise. As we left to check out, another couple were complaining about their stay. Taking a balanced view of the entirety of our 24 hour stay at the Grove I imagine that this hotel is very used to such complaints. Our stay was a huge disappointment and whilst we did the best to have an enjoyable weekend away, we left feeling cheated and conned. I do not say that lightly - but there is nothing about this hotel that gives the feel of a 5* star luxury spa hotel. Many thanks again to Shaun for his assistance this weekend. Collapse
Back again....never disappointed!

I went on a work social trip and whilst I didn't get to try all activities, I would highly recommend the hotel. The room decor is OK/average but the rest of the hotel and restaurants make up for it. The spa treatments are also amazing
