The classic Grand Hotel lives up to its name when it comes to charm and Scandinavian style. Built in 1890, the hotel has been lovingly maintained in an elegant, classic style boasting every modern amenity. We welcome you in our inviting reception area and do everything possible to ensure that your stay with us meets the same high standards.
At Grand Hotel you can choose between our elegant executive rooms and our cosy and charming standard and superior categories, all according to your requirements and the occasion. All of the rooms have been carefully refurbished in keeping with the style of the hotel, and many of the rooms still have their beautiful, original stucco ceilings from the old days. Though the hotel was built in 1890, we are far from stuck in the past century. Naturally all of the rooms have modern facilities such as flat screen TV and wireless Internet.
Just beyond the entrance to the hotel is the heart of Copenhagen and all that it has to offer: Nearby attractions include the world-famous Tivoli Gardens, exclusive shopping galore, an array of inspiring museums and a wide variety of internationally renowned restaurants.

We had a really great few days stay in Copenhagen at the Grand Hotel. The hotel is very conveniently situated, 5 minutes from the main rail station and a 10 minute walk from city centre. We received the highest quality of service . On arrival the desk staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite which was a very welcome and pleasant surprise. The bed and facilities in the room were of a good standard. We hired bikes from the hotel and we were given excellent advice on road safety and places to visit in Copenhagen. Copenhagen is a bike friendly city, with cycle lanes on the main roads, it's a great way to see the city. A word of warning though, be careful not to step out into the road without looking as the bikes move at quite a speed and do not expect pedestrians to walk out in front of them. The hotel staff were very pleasant but I would like to give special mention to Patrick at the desk and Vasco who were both very friendly, cheerful and helpful, they are both a credit to the Grand Hotel. The hotel is wonderfully positioned, the desk staff were polite and helpful, Breakfast is fine, good bread, cold meats, warm eggs and bacon and fresh fruit. The Bed was comfortable the Wi-Fi fast and trouble free, and housekeeping did a very good job. But the bathroom (room 314) was absolutely appalling. the sewage pipe for the toilet upstairs goes directly through the shower, and when you sit on the toilet your shoulders touch the walls on either side, it had paint and hard water marks all over the walls as well. The room was in general very small, with the door to the bathroom hitting the bed if opened fully. Other members of our party did get acceptable bathrooms (including a bath which we did not have) so I would recommend this hotel to stay in, but avoid this room. Collapse

The staff were all really nice & friendly, the breakfast was really, really good & my only complaint was that the rooms were a bit on the small side. The bathroom was nice, with a really good shower. The whole hotel was lovely and clean & the room although small, did have tea & coffee making facilities, a TV & two chairs, so it was more than adequate. If you want a hotel in a really good central location & don't want to spend too much time in your room, then this hotel would be ideal. It was worth staying here for the breakfast, which was very, very good. (as well as the standard continental spread, they served crispy bacon & scrambled eggs). Collapse

Three hundred and sixteen dollars for two nights in a tiny room may seem expensive but most other hotels in Copenhagen are more and a rate that includes breakfast is a find, especially when the breakfast is as good as the Grand. Even if you run into the train station for a pastry and coffee you'll pay as much as Grand's hot/cold buffet. For snacks or cold drinks you'll fare better at the supermarket across the street than at the station. The Grand's antique stairwells and halls give a glimpse of it's former grandeur but my room should be completly refurnished. The furniture was old and all scratched up. Seriously, folks throw away better stuff on bulk day so it wouldn't take much to uplift the rooms. The room was tiny with one courtyard window like a jail cell. The bathroom was small and narrow with a typical Scandanavian Shower that shoots water all over the floor. The proximity to the train station make it ideal for a 2 night stay with a rail connection but I would not reccomend a long stay for a family on holiday. The friendly and helpful staff are the hotel's main attribute. Alex at the desk was a great help with directions and touring advice.I hope management appreciates what a great attribute their staff is. Collapse
Breakfast worth the stay! Rooms are not fancy but everything you need.

A clean hotel with everything you need, not fancy but the location was decent. Room was small but there were three of us in one room and we all had our own bed. The breakfast was wonderful. First time in Denmark. Stayed one night.
