I visited the restaurant at Garryvoe today with a group of 16 including children. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Liz in particular was fantastic, arranging a special desert for one of our party who’s birthday it was. After lunch some of our party sat in the cosy bar while others walked down to the beach to let the kids run about. This is a great venue for a family gathering, with a super friendly and flexible staff, great sea front location, comfortable surroundings and great food. Collapse

I am in the Hotel at the moment devastated after my dinner and been told that the squidgy Chocolate log is no longer available a dessert I have been having for over 25 years and even requested it for my wedding and that dessert is the reason I keep coming for food. I can get a burger our steak anywhere but I considered the squidgy chocolate a signature dish like what the waldorf salad is to the waldorf hotel Collapse
Very nice Sunday lunch, but one bizarre customer service issue

We booked Sunday lunch for the 2pm slot and arrived ten minutes before, to be told that two guests who may not have pre booked had taken our table. We were seated at 2:30, but Liz on duty in the restaurant couldn't have been more helpful and despite our protests compensated us very adequately. Thank you Liz, you are the epitome of great irish customer service. The lunch was very nice, good value and you can have a 2 or 3 course option. The main dining room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. VERY IMPORTANT note to chef, Sunday Lunch particularly when beef and lamb are on the menu MUST include roast potatoes, not chips. It is not a traditional Irish Sunday Lunch without them. When I went to pay the bill, there was a bizarre interaction happening between another diner and the barman whose name is Ravel. He would not give her the bill until she paid first. I was gobsmacked. He was just being bolshie and disrespectful. Anyway the lady in question caught him out nicely and it was good enough for him. (Property Manager, contact me and I'll give you more details). I suggested to her afterwards that she make an official complaint but she decided against it. I'd have given 5* to this review if it were not for that, naughty Ravel. Overall though, a definite must do, if you want a very nice Sunday lunch. Collapse

We got married in the fabulous Garryvoe Hotelel on St Patrick’s day 2018. From our first point of contact last summer until the morning we left 2 days after our wedding we were blown away by what they do in Garryvoe. A Beautiful setting, a good number of our guests took a bracing walk in the beach after breakfast the morning after our nuptials. We will always have a special place in our hearts for this delightful location. Each and every one of our guests were delighted with their accommodation and the courteous friendly attention of the hotel staff. The wedding itself, we had a civil ceremony in the smaller of the two function rooms. We were encouraged and allowed to decorate the room anyway we wanted and the results were perfect. The ceremony was very special, I can’t go any further in my review without mentioning Brendan, the events manager, who came to the room and walked me down to the ceremony room with my daughter and mother. Brendan has a shining career ahead of him. His friendly competent approroachable and fun personality makes him perfect for the job. I felt totally relaxed and happy on the day and knew the hotel under Brendan’s and Ben the hotel managers capable ever vigilant attention would take care of everything. The food and wine, what can I say, for a family of foodies we got wonderful feedback. The roasted fillet of steak with whiskey sauce was a very popular choice and our guests were not disappointed how they managed to get it right for that number of people is beyond me. The gin bar at the reception was so well done also, they are still talking about it! Liz who looked after the top table but also during our stay is such a lovely woman and would kill you with kindness. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and we felt so taken care of her during our 3 nights and days. She so kindly brought toasted sandwiches and tea to the room to us the afternoon after the wedding when we were tired and needed a bit of space, she just knew exactly what we wanted. We also would like to commend the most lovely receptionist who’s name has slipped my mind but who’s friendliness and helpfulness never will. Thank you most sincerely. We have no hesitancy in recommending Garryvoe hotel. It’s going to be our go to special place for, now on. Collapse

Stayed at the Garryvoe Hotel for my aunt's wedding, which was held in the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are large and spacious, though we did have an issue with the hot water (or lack thereof) in the shower, but that was only a minor inconvenience. The pool and leisure centre is really nice, especially the outdoor hot tub, which was made even better by the fact that it was snowing while we were in it. Great place for a wedding, and I'd imagine lovely for a little weekend (or mid-week) break. Collapse
