We arrived mid afternoon and checked in. Then we decided to go to the pool area. What a shock it is totally overcrowded as so many guests and too few sun beds and the pool is far too small. The so called beach area had been swept away in bad weather so was almost non existent. What was there was a smelly mess. To get a sun bed people were up at 7.30 waiting for permission at 8 to bag a sun bed and it's a total farce watching grown men and women running around chucking towels on sun beds. The best bits of the hotel are the staff especially the animation team they made our grandchildren's holiday great . Goofy and Christina were awesome! Some of the outside entertainment was a bit naff and a bit cheesy especially since the kids were watching too. Collapse

We've just come back from a week's holiday, and while I'd like to be positive I can t but I can add positive ways the management could make this hotel better for guests. 1. Employ more staff on the bars - the queue times at night and day are ridiculous for a holiday resort (while I understand its stop guests having sooo many drinks, surely the positivity from having no queues would counter balance the negatives) 2. JUST DEAL WITH THE SUNBED ISSUE - BE STRICTER. Or allocate 2 beds per room and then if you choose to turn up at 8am you can collect your beds and get the best position, but if you choose to turn at 11am you still have your beds and you can simply position where is space. Seems quite simply. 3. Sort out the dodgy pipe on the beach, waste water pours out onto the beach and is not nice. Other than that food was ok, staff lovely, our room was clean and spacious - although with my daughter paying full adult price, I don't think a sofa bed is sufficient. Overall the hotel physically (pool or outside seating areas) and staff wise cannot accommodate the amount of guests in peak season. Collapse

HI Just came back from my holiday on the 15/08/2015 with Jet2, the resort was advertised as a advertised this as 4 star plus, however but from my viewpoint it about a 3 star. The room was very basic and did't live up to the pictures we'd seen in the Fergus website. We had various issues whilst we were there, firstly the cleanliness of the room we had to speak to Jet2 rep on numerous occasions about our room not being cleaned, (see photos attached). Our towels were ripped, stained and very worn, my wife found blood on her pillow and there were food debris on the floor which hadn't been cleaned for days even though we'd spoken to the rep, my wife had to clean the floor infront of the room maid as she'd failed to clean the floor properly. Secondly, we had requested vegetarian food when we'd booked, however out of the seven days we stayed at the Fergus they'd accommodated our request twice, other days we were eating salad/veg with no main course option. Having said all this, the children's club at the Fergus was first class, there was football, table tennis, video games clubs which our children thoroughly enjoyed. Whilst staying here we met some great families and made some great friend with other holiday makers. Collapse

The was our 2nd visit to the Fergus Style having had a wonderful holiday last year. It’s always a risk going back to somewhere you liked as it may not live up to expectations but we didn’t need to worry, it was another fantastic break. We are a family of 3 with our 12 year old Daughter travelling on a Jet 2 Package holiday. We had a very smooth journey arriving at the hotel by 1pm and our room was ready. We went for an upgraded suite with daily access to the Adults Only roof terrace. Our room was exceptional. 5th floor with a huge sun terrace with no other rooms overlooking us. I’m not going to give the room number away as I want it next time Let’s get the elephant out the room straight away. There is an early morning rush at 8am for sunbeds. I’ve seen this at many other hotels in the Med so I don’t see why folks are so hung up about it happening here. You know it’s going on so no point coming on here and moaning about it. I have uploaded a video on Youtube that shows you what it looks like. My only annoyance is folks keeping beds for kids who are in the pool all day, play fair bed grabbers and do not be greedy. There are also 5 – 10 minute waits for the restaurant and bars at peak times, again nothing you don’t see anywhere else in the height of summer. Take the chance to talk to folks around you in the que, it’s actually good fun!! Now the good stuff. It’s a stunning place to chill out either by the beach (when it’s there!!) or on the entertainment level, sitting round the pool was a bit busy for us. It feels very safe for kids. The entertainment staff are the best in the business. We loved Christina and Goofy last year and they made our holiday so very special again this year. Martin and Henry the new guys were also brilliant fun. The restaurant has plenty choice, parents please keep your sprogs under control!!. Always something for everyone to eat and a great atmosphere. The staff love it when you say hello and thank you, more of us should do it!! The Entertainment was better this year. Michael Jackson, Motown, a great new comedy act and a dodgy comedian who’s wife danced with hot candles??? Great home made events from the in-house team along with the regular daytime activities for everyone who wants to take part. As I mentioned I have uploaded a video to Youtube where I’ve added a few pictures to help you. Just search for the hotel name and 2017. Enjoy your holiday here, you will love it. Collapse

Just returned home from a super family holiday for 7 nights in this hotel. Second stay having last visited in 2015. Read a lot of negative reviews beforehand and was anxious about numerous issues raised by recent guests. Our kids (10,8 and 4) had an absolute ball. The overall food and service were great from extremely hardworking staff. The hotel is very busy but that is to be expected at this time of year in my view. We never had a problem with sun beds and never got up early to reserve any. The kids were always in the pool or at kids club (a few times) and at most we waited about half an hour until a couple of beds became free. In that time, we just had a seat at the tables at the pool bar and had a soft drink whilst we waited. No big deal. Animation staff are all amazing and special thanks to Christina for really looking out for our youngest. Nice touch was a bottle of cava to our room on first night as this was our second time staying at the hotel. I can understand why the hotel vibe would not suit guests without kids as it is very family orientated at this time of year. Anyway, I just wanted to add this review to reassure any guests who are going to stay at the hotel in the next few weeks. If you are going on a family holiday, expecting that the hotel will be busy but that your kids will have a ball, you should not be disappointed. If you want peace and tranquility pool side, this is probably not a great option in August unless you are lucky enough to escape to the adult only roof terrace. With three kids, we could not avail of that facility but I heard from other guests that it was beautiful. Collapse
