I can honestly say that I have never stayed in a hotel as disgusting as this ever and am happy to review this place as honestly as I can. Upon arriving, I was given my key and WiFi code. I headed up the stairs on the dirty carpet along the smelly corridor to my tiny room that had a window overlooking a wall. I saw that I had been allocated one pillow so went downstairs to ask for another. I then asked about parking, which was advertised with the hotel and was told that if there weren’t any spaces then that was just tough. I was not given any more suggestions for any other places to park. At this time I was also six months pregnant and needed to be able to access my car nearby. In the room, the shower took about twenty minutes to heat up but was also blocked so by the time it was hot enough to go into, a pool of water hadn’t gathered in the bottom of the shower which I had to stand in. The shower was also dirty. The bed was uncomfortable and even with two pillows it was a nightmare to get to sleep. There were no plugs near the bed to charge my phone and I honestly think the room I was in was just meant for storage but this hotel had decided to make money from it. The floorboard were noisy and kept me awake all night. There was also humming from the generator all evening which can be heard clearly. And the room also had a funny smell. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and this was by far the worst I had ever stayed in - I’m glad to be able to warn others from booking here. I paid £50 for this room which would have been better spent literally anywhere else. Collapse

I stayed here for four nights over May bank holiday. The staff at reception and breakfast were very welcoming and helpful. The front steps and reception area and stairs carpeting were a bit old, but once inside the bedroom area everything was very clean and modern. The room was quiet with window which opened onto an open area. A proper single room was provided, just once bed. A switch on the wall by the bed controlled all the room lights. Towels were replaced very regularly. The breakfast was fair - croissants available three out of four days, not very good quality, but the bread, fruit salad, fresh fruit and cereals were fine. Tea good at the beginning but became stewed later in the breakfast period. They could add some more cheese as the only one provided was quite tasteless. Cooked breakfast available on request. It was a very fine weekend so the walk to the town centre via the riverside was fine - it might have been a bit long otherwise (about three quarters of a mile). The hotel provided a map, but the path leading to the pump room via the riverside was not marked on it - fortunately it is marked on google.maps. Collapse

We booked this hotel for one night stay as my partner had a work meeting on the Monday. Very odd hotel, decor is very travellers! We got to the room and it was freezing and I soon realised the radiator was off! Clean and spacious room however did not have a hairdryer as described so had to go natural hair! We visited the bar however there was no one there, the person covering reception is also the barmen in the evening so you have to go get them. Bar was cheap can’t complain however there were some odd people in the bar. The bed was very uncomfortable! I’ve attached a photo as the bed did not even fit on the base! It was hanging over the edge. It felt okay for one person laying in the middle however two people, very uncomfortable. Walking distance to the centre and opposite the college. I probably wouldn’t stay here again as I didn’t really feel safe, our door was a little broken, loose and the key was temperamental. You can hear everything through the walls. When I checked out, outside was what looked like a homeless man talking to some other men in a car also very suspicious and made me feel on edge. Kind of feel you get what you paid for here, I usually don’t mind as long as it’s clean but the bed was very uncomfortable which ruined the stay for me. Collapse

A welcoming reception area! The rooms are quite spacious & clean. Parking space available as well. Lovely food options including a bar service. Not quite far from the town centre. Overall a decent hotel!
