We stay in room 212 master room, which was beautiful and upgraded as our wedding anniversary which was a nice touch by the hotel. We also had flapjacks and sweets in the room so was very impressed. The room had beautiful views of the golf course and was very spacey. Staff at desk were lovely and accommodating as we were with a child. Would have liked to sit by window for breakfast with child but not allowed which was a shame. Overall the place is very cosy and highly recommend. Collapse

Overall we were not very impressed with this hotel. We would be unlikely to return. We did not find this hotel particularly family friendly which was very disappointing. We felt like second class citizens because we had a child with us even though we were charged the same if not more than other guests! Pros: nice location, nice area The pool was quite nice and the ladies working there were very lovely Decor downstairs is nice and music in the bar Saturday night was good We had a lovely meal in the restaurant Saturday night Cons: Family rooms are too small. We had to book a family room because we had a child but there was barely room for a cot. We ended up with a small double bed and a single bed we neither wanted or needed. When I rang reception to ask if there was a safe in the room she replied not in "those" rooms with a tone. Apparently families must have no valuables!!! This hotel has a policy of bringing your own cot mattress and linen I was told on booking a cot. This is the first time I have come across this. Extremely inconvenient in my eyes but as we had a voucher we had to press on with the booking. On our last morning at breakfast we were made to feel unwelcome by the breakfast room manager. We asked to sit at the same window seat table we had sat at the morning before which was clearly available. Apparently it is not suitable for people with a child! We had sat there with the same child the morning before so I insisted on sitting there. Breakfast service is odd. Serving everything at the table is clearly some kind of cost cutting exercise despite what management have written here before. I understand having hot food ordered but for breads, cereals, fruit, etc you should have a buffet choice. It looks very mean to be served one slice of brown bread halved, one slice of banana bread halved, two mini scones and two mini smoothies between 2 adults and a child. The fact that we had a child was completely ignored at breakfast except for the comment above where our choice of table was not suitable. None of the waiting staff addressed our child or asked us what he would like to eat. Once you have ordered it is almost possible to get anyone's attention if you would like anything additional. We really felt that asking for anything additional to what you were given was discouraged. We are in the bar Friday evening got food and had a couple of drinks there Saturday night. Prices are a bit on the high side. Both nights the service was very poor. The staff all seem very young and were busy messing between themselves rather than customer focused. Looked like there was no bar manager keeping an eye on things. When thinking of a way to summarise our stay in Faithlegg we would say the hotel was pretentious without being able to back it up. We stayed at Faithlegg just before Christmas on an Escapes deal. We both had a lovely stay. The food was outstanding - both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The staff were friendly, warm and efficient and nothing seemed like too much trouble. We loved the atmosphere in the drawing room just off the bar. The bedroom was very pleasant although we did feel the decor as a little tired. I had a spa treatment and I have to say it was one of the best massages I have had in a long long while. My only complaint was I felt that there was a horrible smell of stagnant water in the changing room and I was glad I didn't have to spend too long in there. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back with or without a voucher deal. I would highly recommend this hotel for a chill out stay. Collapse
