Had a lovely 4 night stay at the hotel. Room - Clean, old style decorations but looked recently refurbished. We asked for a double room but our bed was 2 singles pushed together so wernt very comfortable. Thin walls as could hear the next room people snoring. Room was big enough and shower was good. Location - Very central to all the Prague attraction, we got a tram from out side the hotel to the castle. Staff - Very welcoming and nice touch to give us some tips and point out attractions on a map. The bar staff were friendly. Breakfast - As it is only a small breakfast area did get busy at peak times so would recommend getting there early. Buffet breakfast which was always nice. Toaster could have done with being replaced. Collapse

A 3* rather than 4*. I had a small room under the roof with a small roof window so the room was dark. There was also one side of the room where an adult cannot stand up. Most bathrooms (looked at the plan) hold one person not more. The cleaning of the room is done with a minimum effort. I brook a glass and they never vacuumed the floor during the 3 days I spent there knowing there was glass! Even found the glass was pushed under the bed. The breakfast is ok, nothing to talk home about. They don't even have fresh fruit juice. The location is great as there is a metro and Tram stop next door and the old town is a 10mns walk. I would not go back to this hotel. I think a lot of reviews are too nice for a 4* hotel. My previous Hotel in Prague was to the right standard of a 4*. (I was wrongly influenced by the reviews here) Collapse

Overall this is a great hotel, only marked down to 4 stars due to our room. Pros: Location, within walking distance of all the main sights, near the river and a short walk to the old town Breakfast, lovely buffet with wide choice of food on offer, it does get quite busy in there around 9am ! Staff, very professional, helpful and friendly Public areas, comfortable, clean and welcoming Cleanliness, excellent, everything about the hotel was well maintained and clean Décor, very traditional and a nice change from corporate modern hotels (if you want something a little different) Cons: Our room was number 222 which is very very small !! with a sloping roof making it difficult to get in and out of one side of the bed. A small velux window that looked out on a wall and the upper windows to the corridor above - which looked directly down on our bed. Made the room rather claustrophobic and dark. Tiny steps up and down as you enter the room and go to the bathroom make a trip hazard particularly in the dark Shower, whilst it has excellent water pressure, I found that the temperature varied rather a lot in use which wasn't great. Bathroom, was small but well appointed Some suggestions for improving the room... a plug near to the mirror in the bedroom or a mirror near the plug would be very welcome by most guests, for hairdryers etc. There is a plug in the bathroom with a hairdryer (not very powerful) but if a couple are staying and one using the bathroom in the morning, then nowhere for the other to do their hair. Also as it was so dark in the room I could only do my makeup in the bathroom too, again difficult if your partner is using the bathroom ! Maybe the hotel could consider re-configuring the room with the bed head against the sloping wall so making it a bit easier to get into? A larger velux window would be very welcome to improve natural light. A hook on the wall in the little entrance area below the light would be welcome to hang a coat, bag or towel. In summary I would still recommend this hotel as overall it was lovely. I have seen pictures of some of the other rooms and they seem far superior to the one we had. Just avoid the third floor, where room 222 is situated, and also I suspect the one near us room 211 (which I think may be the same). Try to get a room on the first or second floor if possible. I have been here for 3 nights and first impression was that the place doesn’t look like a 4 stars hotel, not the amenities, not the rooms confort, not the type of breakfast given at buffet where if you want e.g. cappuccino you have to pay extra? Receptions was ok, or at least one young receptionist very friendly and professional, another not that friendly and welcoming. Price of the hotel was high for what I got, the room has no very comfortable beds with old wardrobes, neither well dusts as you can see on top dust for which means was more than a couple of months it wasn’t Hoover. Bathroom also a bit small mainly the shower that if you are a bit overweight you will find a bit difficult to move inside. Definitely a not for me. Collapse
