Efteling is beyond magical. We stayed in The Flying Dutchman Suite and it was amazing. Decked out like a pirate ship and playing pirate music when we walked in. Our boys were in heaven. The staff were polite and friendly, always helpful. The character visits in the morning were good and they really took the time to chat to each child. All members of staff easily switched from Dutch to English language for us, it was very impressive. Clean, comfortable, welcoming. The boys wish they could live here all the time. Collapse

The hotel provide a free parking. The hotel didn’t have luggage Service so we had to carry our bags to the room. The room was nice and tidy but the beds were not comfy. The bathroom was dated and had strange odder. It didn’t have kids channels on the tv. It had only 2 elevators and were really crowded especially in the morning. They had restricted timing for the breakfast( 7:30-8:45 or 9 -10:30) and u have to book it on the check in. We booked a room with unlimited access to park which was great. We had an advantage of accessing the park 1/2hr before the public and we had a private entry. Collapse

Had a few days there last week, Junior suite room was fab, really spacious, the little quirks that they had in place was lovely for the kids, only issue was that it seemed quite cold, and we couldn't get the radiatorts turned on, the staff supplied us with a heater which was good, the attention to detail is good, beds extremely comfortable. Bar was good, service excellent, unless you wanted food then it was a little slow, but the barman and his other staff were fab, very attentive and friendly. The breakfast food choice was limited, but tasted good, our only complaint was the odd member of staff who were rude and ignorant, we were placed on a table that meant one of us had to sit at the end, (not a problem) however the space then for people to walk past was then restricted, which resulted in one of our party getting knocked everytime someone (staff included) walked past, give the play centre was in use the whole time too, kids were running in and out, hence more knocking into us, cup of coffee knocked on us then juice, despite informing the staff member she never cleaned the juice up, making the possibility of somebody slipping more risky. We booked an evening meal in the restaurant, tried again sticking us on the end of tables, we said no so moved across to the other side of restaurant, same situation, did she really think we were that stupid???? After insisting not going to sit there, we were told that's all they could do, we noticed a table set for 4 people but it was a couch style seat and we could fit 2 adults and a child on it we told her we would have that seat, the waitress had a fit, mummbling something at us and then complaining to someone else, they ended up allowing us to sit there, we then had to ask for the cutlery twice and the woman spent the whole meal time looking at us and snarling then commenting and pointing at us to us another member of staff, she was absolutely horrible, other staff I have to say were polite and just got on with the job, however her attitude cost them the tip!!!!! Reception staff were really nice. We had a few days booked admission to the park and loved it, not put off by the weather being a little chilly, was a little disappointed that my sn was not allowed on certain rides, but he was allowed on another one that I thought was more risky than the others, but hey that's the rules, have to say tho, not much queuing and wasn't really disappointed. Would I go again, possibly if I was in Holland, but wouldn't book a specific break there. Collapse

The Efteling Hotel brings a whole new level of Hospitality. I would just like to say that I recommend trying a suite room. It is fantastic. Well worth the price. This was my first time staying in a themed room and my friends and I had a blast. The Hans Christian Andersen Suite had a beautiful room layout and it allowed us the option, if some of us wanted to stay up longer than others a sitting room off to the side of the room with a curtain that would block out the light in that area from the two beds. We also had complimentary candies in the room, which made us all quite happy. It was a comfy, cozy room, that had beautiful décor, artwork, and touches of Hans Christian Andersen's stories. One thing that I really liked that the hotel did was for breakfast they allowed the guests to have a set time for going and eating which made it less cluttered in the breakfast dining room. This made you feel like your weren't crammed in a spot and feeling over crowded during your relaxing breakfast. In the evenings, they had actors in costume tell stories to the children. I would have stayed and listened but was unable to understand the story as it was in Dutch and I am not very good at Dutch. But that's okay because it just makes me strive to practice my Dutch more. Anyway, I would just like to say if you stay at the hotel, you are able to get a pass to enter in to the park the day you check in as well as every day you are there (including the check out day). And because you stay at the hotel, you can enter the park 30 minutes before the official opening time, which means no line ups for half an hour. Talk about amazing! Collapse
