the Hotel was fully booked and couldn't handle all the guests. Small Lobby, always full, no Bar but a "Chalet" in the Hotel garden which served as a Bar and was always packed. When we wanted to have a drink we had to sit outside in the cold. The Hotel decoration is also quite special. Price for breakfast € 49 by far too high. The rooms are OK; but my room was awfully smelling smoke, although it was a non smoker room. Service was nice and friendly. Collapse

The hotel as a 5 star hotel has lost it's lustre. I have stayed at this property many times and this is the last time. The hotel is boarded up with one door to get into the hotel... The main floor restaurant is closed and under renovation yet they do not tell you this at the time of booking. The hotel is old and tired and needs a complete overhaul. It is not right to not tell guests when services are not available either. As for the front desk, when a discussion happened, it was like talking to the wall. An offer was made for a reduction in price. I didnt book the property to go there and get a discount, with all the other options in Paris, had I been told the truth, I would not have stayed at the location. Collapse

Booked into the hotel as part of a tour group. Lovely hotel in a great position. Arc de Triomphe about a 10 minute walk and plenty of cafes, restaurants and shopping in the area. Good sized room with 2 double beds which were comfortable as were the pillows. Plenty of cupboard space. Large bathroom with good supply of toiletries. Towels replaced each day. Breakfast was very good with plenty choice although a little spread out. BUT We were very disappointed with the service. Started with missed room service on day 1. Service was done promptly only after we phoned around 4pm. Subsequently cups were not replaced and it was only after 2 phone calls over half an hour and a visit to reception that we received them. Again delivered in 10 minutes. On our last day, we awoke to find we had no hot water. No communication from hotel as to why or how long it would be. Again it took 2 calls to find out they were addressing the problem. Finally checked out at 1pm and still no hot water. Whilst we understand things can go wrong, the lack of communication was disappointing. Don't forget to go downstairs to visit the ladies toilet. Not to be missed as you can see from the photo. However, we did enjoy our stay. Collapse

We stayed here again over the holidays as we did last year. However, this year was not as good as last year. We arrived to the hotel only to stand in line for 45 mins. This is tough after a long, exhausting flight. There were 2 people working the desk and for whatever reason, the check in process is a lot longer than it should be. On a positive note, we were able to check into our room early. This room was towards the front of the hotel and was decent but only one pillow per bed. I had to call downstairs for 2 more pillows. Also, there was no water in the room. We only stayed one night and left for Madrid. We stayed at a 5* hotel in Madrid and then came back to Paris for one last night before we headed home. Let me tell you - the difference in the hotels from this and the one in Madrid was night and day. This hotel made us feel like we were staying in a Holiday Inn Express in the US. AND the hotel in Madrid was 200E less per night. Check in AGAIN took over 45 mins. There was no water in the room once again, the fridge didn't work and neither did the A/C. We slept with the window open to the back alley where people were yelling and talking most of the night. We did not call downstairs for the fix because last year we stayed here and the repair man came up to check out our A/C, tapped on it and left never to be seen again. This year, since it was only one night and we knew the area, we tried again. Well, this was our last stay. Sadly the service, quality and price is not worth it. Collapse

We had an overnight stay at this hotel the week end before Christmas. Staff polite and attentive and the hotel itself plush. Christmas decorations were festive and warm. We had the twin room which had ample space. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful. in all a very pleasant stay. This place was very close to the riots and unfortunately of the entrances and windows were boarded up but security was good and the staff were very reassuring. Collapse
