Lovely hotel, shame about location.

Me and my husband stayed for 5 nights at the begging of August. The hotel was lovely. Upon arrival the staff were excellent, especially Angel on reception. The roof top infinity pool was wonderful. It was well worth the cost of €25 for a half day or €40 for the full day including a small bottle of fizz and fruit platter. We also loved the bistro restaurant on site and ate here for 2 nights of our stay. Really tasty fusion food, would definitely recommend. Breakfast was included in our stay and was nice. Great selection of pastries , fruit, hot food, juices and cava. Rooms were spotlessly clean and as a couple we loved the layout. Rooms weren't massive but worked perfectly well. One suggestion would be to have sun beds on the balcony as there was plenty of room and only two small chairs. The only downside was the hotels location. The location did provide amazing views- especially from the roof top pool ! However it was a shame we couldn't easily walk to other bars/restaurants as the hotel located at the top of a very steep incline. Also building works going on around the hotel. But this didn't effect our stay at all. All in all a lovely hotel . Would return for a couple of nights break but as things are not easily accessible from the hotel , wouldn't stay for a longer break. Collapse

This is a fabulous place and well worth a visit, primarily for couples of all ages, but it does accommodate families too. We stayed in a duplex suite which was perfect for our family of four and we all loved the room set-up. The place is spotlessly clean, very modern and has all the features you'd expect from a Hilton hotel. Whilst I've seen some people comment on the privacy challenges when sharing a twin room, I can appreciate it won't be to everyone's taste as the toilet and shower are separated by a partition wall without a door. Fortunately in the duplex room we had the 'open-plan' bathroom upstairs and a private toilet / shower downstairs, so it didn't challenge us. The food is of a good standard and for those wanting a bit more there is a Michelin starred restaurant offering a full taster menu for €100 per person. You need to book at least 24hrs in advance to secure a table. The location is in a quiet area set-back a kilometre or so into the hills, where they are clearly investing and developing. A number of reviews cite noisy construction, but we didn't hear much at all, so pay little attention to these winging reviews as they're not a real reflection of reality. The hotel pool isn't huge, but suits the guest usage and getting a sun lounger isn't a problem. All guests have the use of the Spa complex adjoining the hotel and this pool is much bigger (more suited for kids) and surrounded by the paddleboard courts and beach volleyball set-up. All can be used by hotel guests, as can the fantastic spa facilities for a discounted price. The only challenge for this main pool is Spa members can book sun loungers and they get priority. With such a small number of loungers available, this can be difficult to secure them, but the pool attendants will do everything they can to free one up. The shuttle service into Fuengirola is good between 0800-1800, or although we took taxis into Belemadena each night to meet friends for dinner. Taxis cost €18 each way. We had a fabulous time when we stayed early August for five days and will almost certainly be returning again...just maybe next time without the kids. Collapse

Lots of choice in terms of restaurants and the buffet is pretty decent. Infinity pool on the roof is nice, you have to pay for one of the beds but probably the best place to get a drink in the evening. Spa very nice but again you have to pay. There's lots of online deals, grab one with entry to the spa and a Bali bed to make the most of it. Collapse

The hotel itself was great, the rooms are very modern and the staff friendly. Going at the end of may (English half term) meant quite a lot of the town wasn't open in the evenings and the family pool was closed until the final weekend as were a few of the on site restaurants. The sports bar was great for both food and drinks and very well priced. The local area was great and close enough to walk, although up a large hill. Collapse

This is THE modern hotel to stay in Malaga close to the ocean! It's a little off the beaten path (we like this) but you're a very shor/inexpensivet metro or taxi ride to Mijas village in the mountains, downtown Malaga, Granada (YOU MUST DO THE NIGHT TOUR OF THE ALHAMBRA!!!), or for the adventuresome a full day trip to Seville to see the bull fighting museum, Maria Luisa Park, the art work, the food, the sangria, the food, the sangria.....! Too tuckered out to travel for a day or two??? Lay out by the infinity pool on the roof or ground level and let the wonderful people that work here bring you a refreshing freshly made Sangria and a tapas while you bake away the kinks of flying. Or treat yourself to a personal massage in the hotel spa...ahhhhhhh. Take the free hotel tuck tuck (you'll know when you see/hear it) to the little seaside town below and have the freshest seafood ever. We're planning a return trip to Malaga and will stay at the Hilton DoubleTree Resort & Spa Reserve del Higueron again! Absolutely fell in love with all of Spain. Safe travels wherever you find yourselves! Let us know how your stay was too! Warm Regards, Dutch & Denise Collapse
