I have been coming here for 18 months and actually will be coming every month for the next four years and I absolutely want to praise Zamer Jusef he has taken the time and trouble to get to know me and my idiosyncratic needs. He pre emts my desires and makes a stressful day a joy as he has a real sense of my moods and makes me feel great. Awesome, I wish more people had his ethos, he is the absolute jewel in the crown of the Double Tree Hilton and they need more like him so my suggestion is put him in charge of frontline staff he really is one of life’s greats, with no hidden agenda other than the client having a great experience and he should be recognised for that. It’s a rare quality in this mercenary world. Collapse

Cosy Duncurin and spouse were attending a family Christening on Sunday 11th and we checked in to this super hotel on the Saturday afternoon. Of course, a Rugby International was on and this area of London, I should imagine, is always pretty busy and certainly the hotel was no exception. The parking tariff, clearly displayed, looks, at first, pretty scary but these days one can park for a couple of hours in Kendals’ car park here in Manchester and not see much change from £20. I wondered whether it was motorists’ penny-pinching which was why we saw so many cars left in the roads and overhanging the nearby pavements around the hotel. In the event it’s a roomy and safe car-park of which more later. We arrived to find a small queue at reception with several people trying to check in. There was also a gentleman complaining to the receptionist that his room had not been made up and it was now gone three in the afternoon. I’d like to convey full credit to the young woman who handled things professionally with an unruffled calm. She attended to the person checking in before offering the gentleman her unreserved apologies and then sought his views on whether he would like her to arrange for the room to be made up at once. He demurred saying that it was a bit late and she then re-affirmed her apology and then I think (as I was earwigging ferociously!) offered him a concession as regards his overnight parking which he gratefully accepted without further delay. She then sorted this and turned to the rest of us in the queue. She offered our room keys advised us that the room was ready and asked if we would we like a complimentary hot cookie and a bottle each of sparkling or still water. She also informed us that there was a special overnight rate for the car park which I thought very reasonable and much preferred this to leaving my little car to the mercies of the nearby roads and pavements. A couple of minutes’ later we let ourselves into our room on the 4th floor. Please note ours was a Queen room which has a fairly large bed which was firm but comfortable. The room was not large but it was nicely appointed with those nice style cues we have come to expect from Hilton hotels. The tastefully decorated carpets, furnishings and fabrics. The work desk with the nice office chair, good lighting and seamless free Wi-Fi. It was also clean and warm with the provision of tea and coffee with a rather nice Nespresso machine set atop the little cabinet that stores the kettle, mugs and below the minibar. The top surface of this cabinet was covered with an orange-keyed Perspex surface which sounds strange but looked amazing. Lastly, the bathroom which was small but beautifully set out with quality sanitary ware which was clean with nice tiles and beautifully sealed along the edges with no hint of dust dirt or mould. Finally, a great shower and some nice products that one could use at the end of a long journey. We’d opted for the full breakfast as part of the room package and this was made good the following morning with an excellent breakfast of juices, cereals, pastries, toast, fruit and provided hot options with more available from the chef on request. Although it was only an overnight stay we felt very comfortable and were delighted to have stayed at this hotel. We felt more comfortable here than at many a more expensive and high profile establishments. Overall - excellent and set at a nice price point. My sister and brother-in-law were at another hotel a mile or so away and after our positive comment they said they will stay at the DoubleTree in future. Collapse

Stayed here for 2 nights with a friend to watch the Vikings game at Twickenham stadium. First room we got, had faulty ac which was not repaired although promised. We found this out at midnight when returning to our room. Switched rooms. Night staff was not that service minded, but the manager fixed that in the Morning. Good breakfast and OK internet. Would stay again if in the area. Collapse
