Normally I do a lot of research prior to traveling. I didn't do nearly enough for this location. First, it's a shared building with The Grand condos. The valets are very friendly and helpful. When you enter, it's hella confusing. The lobby is off to the side of a "concierge/security" desk (can't tell exactly what kinda service they offer because there was always 3-4 random employees standing there chatting). I had already checked in using the app, so the clerk pretty much waved me toward the elevator to find my room. What she failed to tell me at checkin is that the higher numbers rooms at the end of the hallway are actually up a small flight of stairs. Imagine me, the bellhop, and my BFF who is in a surgical boot trying to get our luggage and things up those stairs. SMH. Anyway, the room is TO DIE FOR. Which kinda makes up for me being out of breath at this point. The view overlooks the marina directly behind the hotel, and you can see the South Beach skyline. We spent a HUGE chunk of time on the balcony, just lounging. The bathroom includes a bidet, and there's a sink inside and outside. Super convenient for two females. There is also a microwave and mini fridge, and each nightstand lamp has both a socket and USB port. I ran into some billing issues the day after checkout, and was charged for a points stay. I had to make several calls to the hotel, and got bounced around to a bunch of folks who leave early on Fridays. There isn't a manager on duty after 2pm on Friday, which is an issue. What if there was an emergency in the hotel? What if a customer needed assistance beyond the front desk? I don't get it. But I had to go back and forth too many times to get my stuff resolved. That's something I'll take up with corporate. Collapse

This was by far the worst doubletree experiences ever. The food was over priced, late, and looked reheated. They told me the heating pumps for the pool and jacuzzi would work but it was out of order. I am very disappointed for using my rewards points. The drink at the pool was over priced also with no alcohol taste at all. I am hesitant about the doubletree brand now. They said that the services were third party I guess meaning contracted out. It’s still no excuse for bad customer service. Collapse

We escaped the frigid "Bold North" for the warmth of Miami the "Night Before Our Cruise." We had never been to Miami so we had picked the Doubletree by Hilton because it was near the port where we were leaving from. The hotel was decent but the food selection was not what we expected. Everything worked out in the end. Collapse
Nice hotel and convenient for those taking cruises

We stayed the night before our cruise. The staff was great and the rooms were nice. There are 6 restaurants on the property with options from seafood to coffee bar/ sandwiches. It was a 4$ Uber ride to the cruise ports and took under 10 min.
