Stayed Friday to Sunday here last weekend. First impressions were lovely, reception staff seemed friendly and polite with complimentary cookies on arrival, they had walnuts in them and my girlfriend has a nut allergy so that just meant more for me! :D we had booked a double kingsize, room was really nice and spacious with good facilities. We had dinner at the Bardolino restaurant and meals were really nice and reasonably priced. The health club facilities seem good, the gym is well kitted out so enjoyed using that. Only downside was that there was a kids swimming lesson going on in the pool and so quite noisy and we were confined to just one corner of the pool. I think it's extremely disappointing that such a nice hotel and spa would have this going on! It's not really a spa retreat if you can't relax properly.. Plus the indoor Jacuzzi was still out of use and so the outdoor one was always cramped with people. Our treatments were great on the other hand, my therapist was a lovely lady who I didn't get the name of unfortunately as would had loved to recommend her to others. Was very professional and experienced. All in all was a really nice stay :) Collapse

Stayed here on a HHonours reward.. room was clean spacious and adequate... great for a reward room The grounds and facilities are fabulous! The main part of the hotel is all that we saw and it was lovely... we had the full breakfast buffet and we took dinner at the restaurant on Saturday night.. v nice food but service was slow Spa facilities are lovely ... nice massage and sat out on the sundeck for a couple of hours in the sunshine... it was very nice Special mention to Angie in the restaurant for looking after me on Saturday morning when I woke up with a monster rotten cold! Your Hot tea, hankies and kindness were all very much appreciated! Thank you lovely lady! All the staff that we came into contact with were very nice and very warm... nothing was too much trouble. We were so impressed with the place that we re-booked for later in the year... I don't do that very often!! Looking forward to our next stay! Collapse
Lovely Hotel, shame about the weather. It's the little things that make a good hotel excellent

We chose this hotel for a short 5 night break in early April. The room we were allocated was good, clean and comfortable looking over the woods at the back of the hotel. Although the hotel is on the flight path for Bristol Airport, the aircraft noise was not to intrusive, not waking us up early nor stopping us going to sleep. The breakfast we had in the hotel dining room gave us an excellent choice. We had decided that we would dine in the hotel to celebrate my birthday but looking at the dinner menu we felt that it was quite boring, sorry Marco. The windows were locked so couldn't get any fresh air. The AC controls stated windows had to be shut for AC to work properly but we don't want AC noise when trying to sleep. Why do so many hotels make their rooms aesthetically pleasing with a lack of practicality, not just here, but in other parts of the UK and the world. Lighting is the worst aspect, especially for the ladies needing to deal with their hair and make-up. Lack of lighting, near a mirror with acceptable illumination, and an electric plug for the hair dryer seems to be last element a room designer thinks of. WHY? The large pillows provided could have been more supportive had they not been so soft. The bed was excellent. The Free WiFi provision in our room was excellent, no problems using the internet. Overall our stay was enjoyable and relaxing despite the weather and the limited accessible elements in our room. Collapse

Recently had a three night stay here. Overall a very nice time. Deluxe rooms were comfortable and clean. Lovely walk in shower and the bottles of water each day a nice touch as was the warm cookie on arrival. I must say however I was puzzled as to why they did not allow me to open my window(it was locked) - said something about security but I noticed some were open and I do prefer some fresh air when sleeping rather than keeping the air conditioning on!. Rooms lovely and quiet though I will bear in mind when I visit again to ask for different rooms as they were above the bar where people gathered to smoke and I can imagine in the Summer this could be quite noisy. I would happily stay here again though. Collapse

Guest at a wedding celebration. Super breakfast served by very friendly and helpful staff. Had buffet meal at the celebration which was very good but had no other meals in the hotel. Room décor not to my personal taste and I thought the bed to be very firm and didn't sleep well. Others I spoke to were happy. Collapse
