Check in ok, but slow. Room ok, clean and comfortable. Fairly quiet position. Bed felt hard, but it was a nice hard, firm. Bathroom clean. Didn't try the restaurant for dinner but at breakfast it looked nice, with private tables and circular banquettes. Usual selection for breakfast, nice touch was the orange juice as you go in, which then reserves your table. Issue with the TV not working was sorted quickly, the aircon didn't seem to be working exactly correctly. The room was cold, first time I haven't been too hot in a hotel room. Collapse

Idyllic and picturesque country setting and a modern comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly, cleanliness good and fixtures and fittings of good quality. MPW restaurant reviewed separately. Minor gripe is there needs to be more sign posting or a map. The building and spa are spread out and maze- like corridors so it's easy to lose bearings and find where you need to go. Collapse

Arrived in the rain....to see lovely grounds, that have harnessed quirky. A plastic cow, old phone box with wellies, helicopter and wildfire. Really nicely done. Beds of strawberries growing too. A fair few steps to reception with some great old Zak cartoons to reception The reception staff were charming and smiley and checking inn was swift. Directed us to deluxe room on 3rd floor overlooking Gardens. Also gave us our free cookie, which was very nice The decor is not to my taste, but very well done and not In your face. Room spacious huge bed, but pillows were feather. Rang housekeeping and within 5 mins a happy, friendly housekeeper arrived to replace with foam. All " no trouble". Often have this problem and usually a right primarily.... Bath time was glorious huge deep tub, nice but not overpowering smellies Blackout curtains worked a treat.Very peaceful no noise As mention and we were not far from bar. At breakfast only wanted a couple of coffees to take out A waitress who only just started was so sweet and helpful, whilst older waitress also came to check if I was OK Off out to ample and sheltered smoking area. Really recommend this place, not living on its name,it's working hard to be a great hotel Will return Collapse

I’ve stayed in more comfortable Travel lodges and Premiur Inn’s! We arrived very late after travelling for 4 hours with two small children. Booked a ‘family room’ (and paid extra) which consists of a small double bed and a very dangerous looking sofa bed. The beds are like sleeping on an lumpy ironing board. Even the children complained and they can sleep anywhere! I spoke to reception (the lady was lovely but couldn’t do anything). Her manager couldn’t even be bothered to show his face- was sat drinking tea in the room behind reception. The bathroom floor was dirty to add insult to injury too. The whole booking process was a shambles, incorrect and inconsistent information shared. We booked 15 rooms, for a family event- all had problems. I would recommend you avoid at all costs and find something more comfortable for your money. Let us make it right- joke! Collapse

I have previously stayed here and thought that I would bring my Wife this time to enjoy some relaxing time. The Hotel is wonderfully appointed and very easy on the eye. it offers a couple of eating options and on our first evening we used Bardolino's. I must say that the food was good and the steak really nicely cooked. On the second evening we used the MPW Bar & Grill and whilst we enjoyed the overall experience, the service was a tad slow at times and the steak was not as good as the previous evening. I found the MPW bar & Grill to be a relatively expensive place to eat and the value was not as good as Bardolino's. Whilst we stayed, there were two weddings taking place and I have to say that whilst the behaviour of the wedding guests is beyond the control of the Hotel Management, I do not agree with the maxim that they should be able to use all of the lounge areas as well as the regular Hotel guests. The foul language and rude behaviour of some of the wedding celebrants was nothing short of appalling at times. I found the use of foul language with very young children around particularly disturbing and not once were the staff to be seen taking ownership of the situation. A nice location and building but whilst they host weddings and do not manage the guests, then i fear that I will not be using it again. Collapse
