My daughter, grandson and I decided to have a Saturday overnight stay in Aberdeen as we all needed a break and as we are Hilton Honors members decided to stay at Hilton Treetops. On arrival the Hotel looked nice with good parking and pleasant grounds and the reception staff were very helpful. Our family room however was very hot ( no way to turn off radiator ) and smelt strongly of damp. We were in a hurry so we just opened the windows to air the room and asked for the radiator to be switched off. On our return the room still smelt strongly of damp so we asked to move rooms and unfortunately the hotel was full so we had to have 2 rooms which meant we were split up. We went to the pool which was excellent and then had a very good dinner and headed to bed. Unfortunately as there was no air conditioning in the room we had the window open and there was a noise from a generator which went on all night ! When we finally got to sleep we were awakened by somebody trying to get into the room and shouting for help ( it was a disabled man looking for his parents who were in the next room ) - after this it was impossible to get back to sleep and we had to eventually shut the window to try to drown out the noise from the generator and the room became very hot again. Breakfast was ok but not outstanding . It has to be said that the staff at all times were excellent and could not be faulted, however this is probably was one of the worst stays we have had a Hilton and we will not be visiting again. I bought an afternoon tea for my parents and their friends as a gift for my mum’s birthday. They all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious sandwiches and cakes. Staff went above and beyond expectations by leaving my mum a congratulatory message at the table, giving her a beautiful chocolate with happy birthday written on it and appearing with a cake and a candle. An outstanding effort from wonderful staff. We will definitely be back again. Thank you very much to all the staff in helping mum to celebrate her special day! Collapse

It really did cut me up ... when I booked this hotel on a fond memory of a good quality of establishment ,only to find out that..Service is not Golden .. it’s slip Sliding away. I was here many years ago on a business dinner dance and then the hotel spoke Quality and everyone knew where the Treetops was . On a recent visit (booked a two night stay with booking.com) for a family reunion and a 7 table setting for brunch ... the story unfolds . My husband had never been here but I had in my past marriage . It was near to my current family and looked to be a perfect choice for Location . However all was anything but perfect . Hubby’s birthday treat and catch up with family . On arrival Saturday night ... I suspected a wedding may be happening as a popular venue for those kinds of events . Booking in was fine , but OTT with the information but okay. Good front of house man to have . We had tried to book a third night before we came and was told by hotel to call booking.com and they told us they would call the hotel , only to be told no guarantee that we would not have to change rooms and the cost was pretty pricey . We voted with our wallets and booked elsewhere . “Big mistake .... because they could have had another nights accommodation with breakfast and evening meal and drinks “ So the room a tad on the small side ... even a travel lodge and premier inn have bigger rooms... we understand they don’t have a spa, sauna and gym and pool with their stay but that not always what you want. TV not the best reception but not that important to us. Clean room except for cobweb hanging from ceiling . Bed comfy, breakfast everything it promised to be and nice touch of freshly squeezed Orange juice ( top marks ). We Wanted two cokes to sit outside with after breakfast. Bar not open understandable but reception .. bar ... reception until finally it all happened for us and we got the cokes we first asked for. Not enough seating outside for the nice weather coming up . Family arrived and shown to a well set table and the buffet starter was really good as something for everyone . The staff a bit too keen to take orders for the main course and as it states on the menu unlimited starters maybe ...let us run down a little and call you when ready , Sticky floor at the starter buffet which our family and others were sticking too but give the gentleman manning the restaurant his due when I asked he hastily cleaned this up but it was slippy. Of the main courses,my Salmon was outstandingly tasty , beautifully cooked. The omlettes our family had were apparently pretty good. The pancakes .. bacon was not as crispy as we expected but the kids seemed to. The bourgenion ... the birthday has was tough. He wants to know how it could be tough? On returning to the room it was nice to see a personal touch of a bottle of prosecco on ice and a card from management wishing hubby a happy birthday ( now THAT was a nice touch ) . Back later in the afternoon,a nice bottle Of Chardonnay to share ( all be it a Little Overpriced ) tasty. Steak frites .... now that was extraordinary. Beautifully cooked 6oz rib eye steak cooked to order medium. Thank you very much chef. The grounds of the hotel are very pretty .. more seating outside would be better . Room a little hot at times .. Would we come back .. we’ll maybe for one night and the buffet brunch as it served its purpose and the brunch was good value for money. Please guys put this place back on the map for quality and not just for convenience.... and make the name Hilton Treetops a Place to be proud of again. Collapse

Checked in made very welcome.lovely Room very quiet. Only one problem when I went to make a up of tea only one tea bag the rest were herbal so left that go went out for the day came back to go to the lesuire club once again excellent service whilst out of our room the house service put more shampoo ect however did not replace the used glasses or replenish the tea bags or milk so a bit of a let down there. At breakfast on the first day they had smoked bacon unfortunately myself or my husband can't eat it we asked reception if possible to have non smoker bacon for next breakfast we very impressed that they made us a plate of unsmoked bacon thank you overall great stay Collapse

This hotel desperately needs some TLC. I’ll be positive and start with the pro’s.. the staff are actually very friendly and nice. The food is also good, if a little expensive for dinner. As a Hilton Honours Diamond member, I’m used to much better standards. This hotel fails the Hilton brand on the very basics. The standard rooms are TINY, there is barely room to walk round the side of the bed. I was upgraded for the remainder of my stay to room 1. While it was certainly spacious, that was where the good things end. In desperate need of refurbishment. All the furniture is old, tatty and stained. Bathroom is dirty and old, covered in rust marks and dirty grouting. Housekeeping in general extremely poor, dust on surfaces, hairs in the bed and in he bathroom from previous guests (disgusting !) and cobwebs in the corners. I suggest bringing a pair of slippers, didn’t even want to walk on the floor without them. Poor housekeeping on both rooms ! The upstairs room I originally had was extremely noisy, no sound proofing at all and could hear every word from the neighbours and banging doors all night. If you’re in Aberdeen on business, stay else where! Collapse
