Stayed here on the 2 nights DB&B deal. Really nice hotel with large rooms and in a great location. Right at the beach across from Codonas amusement park, which has everything from bowling to cinemas and restaurants etc etc. Great for the kids and adults of course. Now the Hotel. We had a King Premier room with sofa bed. Nice big room which was clean had a huge bed with its own bathroom. The food was excellent both breakfast and evening meals with a bar in the foyer with plenty of seating. A couple of points to mention. To book a table in the restaurant we were told by reception you had to book it at the bar. Nothing wrong with that except for when the bar is busy, which it is a lot even through the day. 10 minutes we waited as the bar was very busy with only one person serving. This is not a good set-up. Should be done at reception. Both nights we had to wait to book at table. Very frustrating. The second is when booking that kids 11 years and older must pay for meals as taken. This is fine except our daughter was 10 but ordered from the adults menu in which we had to pay for. Hilton do not stipulate this when booking. They should mention that kids 10 and under eat free “from the kids menu only” We would book again as the hotel is really nice and the area has loads to offer. Collapse
Was suppose to be a special weekend

I stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton on 9th February with my friend and her daughter. We were staying at the hotel the night before my friends wedding. My friend had phoned the day before (Thursday) and asked for an early check in on Friday. She received a phone call on Friday to say that her room and a relatives room was ready at about 12.30 but when they both arrived at the hotel they were told they weren't ready. A room was found for both of them. Also our room for the bride and bridesmaid was suppose to be on the ground floor so we didn't have to struggle in lifts with the dresses but we ended up on the first floor at the end of a corridor. The room was nice and had plenty of room for us getting ready. We went down to the bar area to have a meal at night. We ordered 2 meals and a child's meal. But when the child's meal arrived all we got was a full sized pizza and after a 10 minute wait after the food had arrived we had to go and ask for the chips and salad that the meal came with. After waiting a further 20 minutes we had to ask again for the chips and salad and ended up taking these up to the room and the staff had to come to the room with the dessert we ordered for the child. We had a comfortable sleep in the room and the breakfast was very good. There was plenty of room to get ready for the wedding and we were allowed to stay in the room until 2pm. They also got the porters to collect the brides luggage and take it across to the suite that they were going to be staying in for the following 2 nights. I only stayed the night of the 9th but the bride has let me know about the number of thing that the couple were unhappy with. The suite that they were moved to didn't have any toiletries in the dispensers in the bathroom and they lights didn't work but it was too late for them to complain when they came back from the wedding But there was 2 incidents that they were very unhappy with. The first was a relative had handed a gift bag into reception on the Sunday that was to be put in the suite for the couple but they never received this bag. They only knew about it after they had checked out on Monday and the relative phone to ask if they got the gift bag. When they found out about it the bride had to go back to the hotel to get the bag after the relative had phoned the hotel to make sure she got it. The other incident was that the couple had a meal in the hotel on the Sunday night and paid cash for their meal as they had used a spree voucher but when the bride checked her bank statement later in the week the hotel had taken £35 out of her account and when she phoned to query it she was told it was for the meal. So what was suppose to be a happy weekend for the newlyweds turned into a bit of a nightmare, which was a shame as the first night in the hotel was a wedding present from me to them and its upsetting to find out that their stay at your hotel wasn't a pleasant one. The hotel is just OK. For me it doesn't have a stand out point but is perfectly adequate. The rooms are dated but I don't mind that, the beds are comfy and it feels like quality pillows and duvet. The food at the hotel is your average hotel food albeit with not much of a selection. Breakfast is one of the better ones I've had in the numerous hotels I've stayed in. I'm here through work and I'm on nightshift so sleeping through the day, Im finding it fairly difficult to sleep with all the banging and rattling but i suppose you can't expect people not to go about their business just because I'm sleeping. I would have no qualms about coming back and staying again. Oh I just had one of their caramel latte's best one ever. Collapse

I booked a long weekend for my husbands birthday. I made a special request for a nice room for a special occasion and was delighted to find we received a complimentary upgrade on arrival. In addition there was a lovely birthday message in the room. The breakfast was amazing, great variety and the best crispy bacon ever! We used the gym which was huge and well air conditioned with a great range of equipment. The staff from start to finish were extremely helpful. The only fault I want to mention was in the bathroom, when showering it was very difficult to get the temperature right, you either scalded yourself or froze and the pressure was not great. Other than this we had a perfect weekend. Thank you Hilton Collapse
