Worst Hotel Experience Ever do not stay here!! I booked a hotel room with the delta from july 21-23. I travel a lot and have even stayed in one star hotels who gave me better customer service than I received at the Delta. My cousin was and his girlfriend came in from Toronto to visit for a week I only get to see them once a year. I booked a two bed hotel room for my girlfriend, my cousin, his girlfriend and myself. I always had some problems going to the delta ( we stay there every year around this time) most of the problems are not a big deal. No mini fridge, pools not working that kind of thing not a big deal. But this time was the worst experience I have ever had at the hotel! They said I booked a one bed room not a two bed room. I called in to book. They said people over the phone cannot guarantee anything and " you get what you get" four of us can't sleep in one bed. I asked for atleast a cot. They said they don't have any but" you guys could sleep on the floor lots of people are doing it" I am not going to let my cousin and his girlfriend sleep on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!. I asked for a refund so we could go stay somewhere else and they said " no sorry we already have the money we cannot refund it!!! All they did was " give me free parking" even though I wasn't going to get parking I might as well. My cousin and his girlfriend went and stayed at a different hotel!! and me and my girlfirend ended up staying at the delta ! Worst Idea ever!!!. I looked at my bill and they CHARGED ME FOR PARKING and they said they cannot refund that even though the manager Kuljeee said it. I have been staying at the delta for 6 years every year. This will be the last I can not believe they would treat me like that. I have had way better service from a one star hotel. Please do not stay here! you will thank me! Very upset. The girl I was talking to at first was Irene and she got the manager named Kuljeee ( is what Irene told me her name was ) Kuljeee said all of the above stuff in the "". Very upset and still in disbelief!! Delta cost me over 350 dollars. if only I did not book with them! Collapse
Exactly as expected from Delta

The delta is located in central downtown, which culturally doesn't offer much. There are some restaurants near by, including a pub that is attached to it. When I arrived, the entire front of the hotel was blocked off my police due to an incident. There was no Marriott staff but the officer told me that I had to loop around and come up a one way road to valet. Hotel is renovated and was clean and modern. There was a little bit of confusion at check in due to a system problem. I was told that I had an upgrade but not sure exactly what that was as it looked like a standard king room to me. It overlooked the pool and had a small balcony. The room did smell like someone had smoked in it. The club lounge is on the 12th floor. Small but functional. The espresso machine was down during breakfast. Toast, yogurt, bacon, scramble eggs etc. Did have a drink and snack at the lounge as well. The pork belly and prawn skillet was decent and large for $9. Overall, it was a good functional stay but did not stand out. Collapse
Mediocre (at best)

We stayed at this hotel from July 3-10, 2017. We stayed in the family suite. The suite itself was great. Spacious. It is effectively 3 hotel rooms that are connected. Two queen beds in one room, one king in another and a room between with a sofa, chairs, a table and a fridge and microwave. The biggest issue with the room is that it is poolside. That means noise until the pool closes at 11 PM (children playing (though after 10 Pm, it is supposed to be adult only -- but that is still noisy, music blaring, and the sound of the hot tub). It also does not have an outside window -- the windows look into the pool area -- which also means seeing people walk by and potentially them being able to see in unless your binds are shut tight. All those things wound have been acceptable had we chose them. However, it is not disclosed on the website that the room is poolside. Nor, did anyone tell us when we spoke with central reservations (Marriott and Delta) or anyone at the hotel prior to our arrival. We did inquire about changing rooms, but the front desk manager (Doug - I believe) was less than helpful - and that is putting it gently. When asked to speak to someone higher that the Front Desk Manager - we were refused. Club Level Lounge has a decent breakfast. Coffee (either brewed - or out of their fancy coffee/latte/espresso/mocha/etc. machine) was not good. The room is open all the time, but effectively only during breakfast and afternoon hors d'oeuvres is there anything worthwhile offered. The entrance to the hotel is an issue. There hotel is on a downtown city street and only have a "one lane" area for loading and unloading. The area is made smaller by sitting taxis (Why can't they stand elsewhere?). There is often no place to stop there. And when you can stop there, passengers loading on the side of the vehicle nearest the travel lanes risk their life to get into the car. Valet parking is a hefty $24/day -- but self parking isn't much less. If you self park - you'll need to take two elevators to get to your room. The pool area was ok. It has not changed much since I stayed there while I was a little child. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub and a kids wading pool. The tile on the pool deck and hot tub is dated and in need of repair. The pools have been "lined". But the in-need-of-updating-and-repair woodwork and walls and decor of the pool tell you this hotel is older. The indoor pool is not accessible if you are in a wheelchair (It is two steps up -- and the ramp goes into the gym -- through which it is theoretically possible to get onto the pool deck if you move exercise equipment and go through the gym. The outdoor pool is up a flight of stairs and there is no option to get a mobility impaired person up there. Housekeeping was ok. We ran out of toilet paper one day (which should not happen in a hotel). And they missed our room and we had to call the front desk one day. The front desk manager not wiling to help us early in our stay left a sour taste. But there were some shining stars. Nina, who I only met via phone was incredibly helpful. She was one of the most helpful and awesome staff members I have ever seen. "Kam" was also very nice and helpful. And Marc (I believe was his name) - the valet was also amazingly helpful. Collapse

Over all the hotel was very nice and comfortable. I really liked the lay out of my room and when i had time to sleep my bed was very accommodating. For my visit the room had what i needed for the business that i came to Winnipeg for. Wifi was easy to connect to and unlike other hotels uninterrupted. Room service was good meals where hot and tasty. The only downfalls was getting correct information from the front desk about shopping and city attractions in the area. For the most part they didn't know what was happening from day to day and what were the hours of operation for the same. I would however would like to take my hat of to the bell desk as the guys there are really ambassadors for the hotel. Collapse

Recently spent two nights at the Delta Winnipeg.....my second visit. Arrival was very late Friday night.......well, early Saturday morning, actually, due to a seriously delayed flight by SOMEBODY !! Breaks and meals were high quality, and ready on schedule. After meetings adjourned in late afternoon, a few of us walked downtown to take in some of the Jazz Festival and a pub meal and some relaxation. All in all, a greeat venue for meetings.....or a Windy City getaway !! Collapse
