Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rome was a good choice for us. We were a party of six with differing mobility so it was important to have a hotel with facilities were we could relax for part of the day but also close enough to see the sights in Rome. We used the hotel shuttle bus to St Peters a few times but mostly used taxis which in general are very good. The hotel staff were very friendly,we particularly enjoyed the pool bar where we had a cocktail late afternoon and the Piano bar where we enjoyed the music and were able to relax after a long day.The staff in both were very friendly. We booked our 2 night stay via Hotels.com. Upon arrival, we were told that a King size bed was unavailable because this booking type did not indicate the bed size. Funny, since we clearly showed the front desk clerk where our reservation stated non-smoking king size bed. We were instead given a “family room”, which mean two full size beds...and less storage space for our bags in the room. Thanks I guess? We had also paid for breakfast since we knew we’d be heading out early in the morning for our Vatican tour and flight the next day. Being that we needed to leave quite early, we were among the first to grab some food. I can only imagine what sort of food preparations they use, as my eggs not only tasted of tin foil, but I found a piece of it in there. Worst pastries I had in the five days I spent in Italy. I did use their laundry service and that worked out well. 7 Euro for pants. All that said, anyone looking for a reasonably priced place that isn’t incredibly far from a Metro station (15 minute walk), then I recommend this place as a room to sleep only. Collapse

I recently stayed at Crowne Plaza Rome - St Peters and was completely pleased with the service. The rooms are clean and modern. The staff was exceptional. The breakfast was a great value for the price. They offer a shuttle to Vatican City for 1.5 Euros which was excellent! Audrea in the gift shop even customized a belt I bought in the gift shop and had it delivered to my room within 30 minutes. Free parking is huge in Rome, especially when the hotel offers shuttle service at an unbeatable rate. Highly recommend this hotel for Rome. Collapse

We stayed here for two nights as part of a cruise package. Luckily we had already spent time in Rome previously and stayed in a historic property near the Trevi fountain because the CP is miles out of town. They offer an excellent shuttle service at 1.5 euros pp per trip - the mornings go to the Vatican, stopping only a few minutes away, but the afternoon service goes to a different location closer to other tourist spots like the Pantheon. Expect the return trip in the afternoons to take twice as long as scheduled as the traffic is terrible. The CP is a sixties vintage hotel with tennis courts and a massive pool, although it was too cool to be used while we were there. The bar and restaurant were very good indeed, and there is a trattoria just to the right of the driveway on the main road. While we were there, about four big tour groups were staying and I can understand why, as there was enough space for the tourist buses. We were on the second floor and had a massive balcony and courtyard. This hotel had perhaps the best hotel breakfast offering in my experience. So lots of good things but also if this is your first time in Rome, ditch the ‘burbs and stay in the city centre! Collapse

At the first I wish the receptionist as meet & great us at CP Rome will be in every hotel. Prompt check in. Very pleasant , give us a lot of good advises very useful for Rome First timer Visitors. During the check in time we were told about all available facilities in the hotel along with few simple rules. We went to our room . Not very big but big enough for our family 2+2. Some refurbishment has been done in the room & bathroom. Overall clean room with view at Tennis court . As it was our Wedding Anniversary we went for family dinner. Kids ordered their favorites , my wife some pasta ,I had a steak .,,ad that was a little mistake. Suppose to be served M -Well I got big bloody pcs of meat nicely decorated ...Had few bites and stayed with chips (v.tasty) and local wine. I m not very fussy in general but bit disappointed with my meal on Anniversary Dinner decided to touch the subject with our waiter. As she saw the reason of my disappointment ,the problem was immediately sorted showing high professionalism and quality of service . We never had any other issues in the restaurant other days. Breakfast rich ,fresh and tasty. Very helpful and pleasant staff and every Duty Manager we meet during our stay. Perhaps you can find better hotel with better interior and food ...no doubt on it .It is Rome ...For us CP Rome is a decent place to stay for business or family brake . Thank you we will be back in June again. Collapse
