Just returned from a fabulous weekend. Brilliant staff, friendly service from people who couldn’t do enough for us. Wendy - Guest Relations Manager - is a star who made the weekend for us. If her boss is reading this, give Wendy a pay rise, she is your greatest asset. Claire - Front of house reception (I think that’s her title), was also wonderful (give her a pay rise too). Some parts of the hotel are a little tired but nothing a good refurb cant sort and some work to do on the leisure club - it is a bit sterile. It’s the people there though who make this a great hotel. We will definitely return. Thank you. Collapse

We stayed here for one night. The service was good - if a little slow in the restaurant. The room we stayed in was clean and had everything we could have needed although I will note that a large section of the hotel has a modern feel which really isn’t in keeping with the beautiful building and gardens. Breakfast was ok (although the fruit juice was not very good) and I must admit I found the table layout a little strange. There were large conference tables set up for approximately 10 people with no smaller tables, this meant that as a couple we found ourselves on a unnecessarily large table, thankfully we had seen that there was a wedding on the night before so decided to go to breakfast early in an attempt to avoid the rush. Luckily this meant we didn’t have to share the table with anyone else however had this been the case I would have been disappointed to share my 1st wedding anniversary break with strangers! It is a very large hotel and on the day we arrived there was obviously a wedding taking place, our room was directly above the evening reception which as would be expected had loud music into the night. As we were quite close to the wedding we also experienced quite loud talking and laughing taking place in the corridors and outside our bedroom window. I understand that this is to be expected with a celebration however I do think it would be sensible for the hotel to consider putting guests who are not attending the wedding in another part of the hotel. I recently stayed at Heythrop Park Resort Crowne Plaza for a family friend’s wedding. My family and I were very disappointed with our stay and wished we had checked reviews before staying! Just to be clear, Heythrop Park itself is a lovely venue and setting for a wedding, and we had a wonderful time at the wedding we attended - this review is focused purely on the hotel rooms. We had booked two rooms for one night stay. The reception staff member I spoke to initially denied that she had two bookings for my name and was rather unhelpful, even when I showed her my email confirmation. Once this was cleared up, we were told our rooms were in the Archer Wing. No offer for help for our bags to be taken to our rooms was given and the majority of staff encountered in the hotel were indifferent and unhelpful. Furthermore, the rooms were tiny for the price paid for them. The room my parents stayed in was so small that they couldn’t even use the ironing board! Ridiculous for a room costing £105!! They also had stains on their duvet covers. My husband and I had a room in the back of the hotel, overlooking the service area where the bins were and there was constant noise from this area. Our bathroom was also unclean. Both rooms had safes which did not work and we ended up having to store our items in our car. We have sent this review to the hotel and were told the PA to the resort director would be in touch, but not surprisingly, we haven’t heard anything. Highly disappointed with our experience at the Crowne Plaza and we will certainly not be returning! Collapse

We stayed for two nights for a wedding in a new executive room in the recently refurbished block. The room was very well presented, very comfortable. Excellent bathroom with high end fittings. Good use of space and nice large desk/dressing table area. BUT the room was so dark, hardly any lights and the little lighting was in the wrong areas. It really let down what would have been a lovely room. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment. As guests of a wedding our meals and service was from outside caterers. It really is a very good location for a wedding or group party/conference. Reception staff were friendly and more than helpful. The hotel bar has the worst combination of furniture, lighting and colour scheme I have ever seen, such a shame as the hotel deserves a good bar and it has a good central location and view. Some dodgy carpeting in halls of hotel too. Collapse

We had a nice time staying in Heythrop Park Hotel during summer 2018. The facilities were good and the restaurant provided good enough options. The swimming pool and the vast area for walking/playing was ideal. There were events and other facilities specialized for children during our stay which made the stay better than expected. Collapse
