Nice option to stay near gran via road. Close to all the major attractions and shopping. Hotel rooms are very spacious and the higher floor rooms have a wonderful view. The only thing which is missing is water bottles. I feel been Marriott brand they should keep water bottles in the room as they only give water at the time of arrival day. Housekeeping is great, the staff is very polite and helpful. Collapse

Ideal location for business as well as tourists. The hotel is located on Calle Princesa next to Arguelles Metro Station which is connected to the Circular Line virtually connected to the whole of Madrid. El Corte Ingles, the largest shopping store in Europe is next to the hotel. Indian Restaurant DELHI is at a stone's throw. Zara, Decathlon, Starbucks are at a 2 minute walk. With more than 400 rooms, you will not have to wait from the 3 PM deadline for Check In. The staff would accommodate Early Arrivals. The lobby is big with a Travel Desk and friendly staff. We travelled during the Taxi Strike and the staff was more than helpful with directions and the best possible routes. The ever smiling ladies and the graceful gentlemen were always there to attend to take care of our needs. There are two computers connected to printer in the lobby, which you can use for free. The rooms are big and sunny. At least the one I got was sunny. There is ample wardrobe space. The bathrooms have a bathtub with a shower. One thing I did not understand was 2 washbasins in the bathroom. There is daily change of linen and fresh toiletries are kept. Rooms in the Old Wing are carpeted and the ones in the new wing are with tiled floor. The Centralized Heating is quite effective. The breakfast spread is quite elaborate, but offers the same menu on all days. I stayed 6 nights. There are enough options for vegetarians. The staff is more than willing to prepare vegetable sandwiches for you with mayo, chopped onions, garlic, carrots. One suggestion, add something new daily like pancakes, variation in fruits etc. You can cover Madrid's major attractions by foot. There are 04 roads leading in 04 directions, each leading to some tourist destination. Start towards Gran Via and reach Plaza de Espana. If you go straight, you can enjoy the madness at Gran Via. Take a right at Plaza de Espana and a short left to reach Palace Real behind which is the ALMUDENA CATHEDRAL. From there the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor are just a kilometer passing through Mercado San Miguel. Then you can go to Gran Via tasting the Special Churros at Valor Chocoleteria. The total walk would be around 4 km. If you do not want to visit Palacio Real, continue straight on Gran Via and you'll reach Cibelles Fountain and Cibelles Palace. Continue further and you'll reach the Puerta Del Alcala, Plaza de Independencia and Retiro Park. You'll have to visit these places twice, morning and evening to see the lights. The Total walk is around 3 km. The road from hotel in direction opposite to Gran Via leads to Arco de La Victoria near Moncloa Metro Station. The Headquarters of Spanish Air Force are also there. total walk 2 km. A short walk from the hotel is Madrid TELEFERICO at Pintor Rosales, the 11 minute trolley ride hovering over the Madrid City taking you to Casa de Campo. Walk around the beautiful jungle and take a metro back to Plaza Espana/Gran Via (currently closed for renovation). In the 4th direction, is the Templo de Debod, Egyptian Temple. Visit this around Sunset to get beautiful pictures. So all in all, great location, good food, big sized room and a wonderful set of staff to make your Madrid visit a memorable one. Collapse

We decided to end our trip at this hotel despite it being a bit further from the City Center. It did allow us to access western Madrid attractions (Palacio Real, Templo de Debod, Teleferico). The rooms were comfortable and had huge windows looking over the city center, but we did here quite a bit of street noise despite being on a very high floor. We did encounter a huge service error during our stay. On 31 December, we stopped by the front desk to see whether we needed to reserve a car or taxi for 7am departure to the airport the following morning. Two agents conferred and both agreed that we should be fine, and that they have two taxi services with dedicated service if the taxi stand outside had no options. On 1 January, there were no taxis available and the front desk staff told us they would call. The hotel's porter called for a car and told us there would be a 20-minute wait. The front desk staff echoed this. We waited for over 30 minutes before telling the staff we would be running out of time very soon in order to make our flight. Unapologetic, the staff said they would call again but that they could not help us. Finally, I realized the subway station near the hotel could get us to the airport with only one transfer. We were short on time but thanks to short lines at the airport we made our flight. I was fuming, and incredibly disappointed that there was a breakdown in the information provided to us and the inability to help us. Collapse
