The room is very clean and the central access to the city, only a few minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. Public transportation is very close and very near to a mall. In the lobby they sell plenty of convenience items including sodas medication and snacks. There are also computers in the lobby that you can use to print any reservations that you have. The staff is very friendly and speaks English well. Collapse

After showing the Manager a picture of cigarettes that kept us up all night (must’ve been 30+) she shrugged her shoulders looked at me and said “we don’t allow smoking in the hotel”. they charged us for 3 nights not 2,we called from the airport asked about a free shuttle she said ‘yes’ a car came and never charged us said “the hotel would take care of it” and we were charged later €60. We were told “as elite Marriott members, no charge for water, charged anyways. We wanted to use our reward points for the 1st time, but young girl didn’t know how so my husband ‘temporarily’ used his VIP because she said “it would be fixed by the time we checked out, not to worry”.Our mistake was, with little sleep we rushed out to catch a taxi to get to the airport not checking the bill. Outside of all that, hotel was clean, the people were very pleasant, the food was adequate, the rooms were comfortable, but I’d never go back again because they allow smoking even though they say otherwise. We noticed a lot of airline people (captains, flight attendants etc.) coming and going which is not a bad thing, but do they look the other way knowing that the airlines pay their bills? Collapse

This "Marriott" is almost a non-Marriott. If this was in the States one would/could mistake it for a below average hotel chain such as your Motel 6, Super 8, etc. The area where the hotel is located is between 30-40mins ride on Uber or Metro (Subway), which I preferred and loved, to the center of things in Paris such as the Eiffel Tower, the Museums etc. The location of the hotel, as many commented on, looks sketchy and rundown. It's a part of town that the municipal governments have forgotten about. The entrance to the Metro looks like an abandoned structure where weeds are taking over the steps, etc... but within what appeared to be "Sketchy" there are Diamonds, you just have to find them. This is a part of town that's not catering to the "Tourists" therefore you have a chance to experience something that might be real. People are really friendly especially when they figure that you are a tourist in their neck of the woods where most people are advised to "avoid". Yes, the area looks sketchy with graffiti and old and dusty buildings, but try to see what's there on Boulevard Ornano, and around the Carrefour Pleyel Metro entrance. "Courtyard Marriott" stuff are generally friendly, with some unfriendly, rude encounters with some. The restaurant has good priced items, but they are not open the majority of the time. The rooms are smaller than what we find in the states, but that's understandable since this is Europe things run small here. Quality wise, this hotel rooms seem to be stuck in the 1990's. Very uncomfortable bed. Spring box very HARD bed. Every movement you make is essentially a wake up alarm to you and whoever's sleeping next to you. I must say I had the worst night sleeps in God knows how long. "Marriott" reps if you are reading this please try to sleep a night in these beds and see what I mean, very uncomfortable. The only modern thing in the room is the TV, but who cares about TV sets when you are in Paris, right? The restrooms are European, small and efficient. They are here to be used as intended and not to take a sauna or bath... I just wish the shower area could be closed of so that water wouldn't sprinkle all over the bathroom. As it stands the shower has half glass wall covering half of the area closest to the shower head. Clean carpet is the other thing that this hotel lacks rooms are in need of carpet shampooing. They do not look or feel clean. Collapse

My family booked a 3 night stay at this hotel as part of a 3 country vacation. After staying in top Sheraton and Hilton hotels in the heart of London and Brussels, this was a real disappointment. We stay in Courtyards when we travel and this was not meeting the standards so much that our kids even noticed it. Aside from the very sketchy neighborhood mentioned by other reviewers, here are the issues we found: No USB ports and only 2 available outlets in the entire room. We borrowed converters to charge our phones and one of them sparked on night 3 when my husband went to plug it in. It burned out our plug and left a burning smell in the room. Both outlets were no longer working and although we reported it, nothing was fixed. Bathroom tile and room carpet are really in need of an update. I wouldn't let the kids sit on the floor especially after seeing how housekeeping didn't clean so well. (Dirty dishes should be removed and not put back in place.) The beds only have a single sheet covering the plastic mattress which was very hot and made us sweat. There wasn't a second sheet on the bed so it was comforter on or off. We had to call for more towels each day as Housekeeping seemed to only leave what they felt. Most hotel housekeepers keep up with the occupants. There was a very large TV in a very small room taking up half the desk space and not mounted on the wall. Aside from these issues, the trainee at the front desk was really nice as well as the other staff. The lobby was well maintained and was more up to date than the rooms. Marriott please send someone to get this place up to standards. Collapse
