Courtyard was in a convenient location, in the North End, across from TD Boston. The king rooms were comfortable and clean. Long weekend for a Celtics game. I called ahead to try to get quiet rooms where all 6 of of could be close together and Karina accommodated our needs and provided us with exceptional service...far beyond what you would expect at a Courtyard. Will definitely come back because of the location of the hotel, price and comfort of the room and the service that Karina provided. For others considering hotels in Boston, this one centrally located but does not have full service restaurant or other amenities...which we did not need because the food in the North End is amazing. Valet parking for $53 a night. No recycling (which is the case in many places in Massachusetts). Collapse

We arrived at the hotel around 11pm and the front door isn’t automatic open; required to ring the bell. Prior to arrival I requested a few toiletries but never given. The room itself was clean but the drinking glasses were dirty, I’m certain it was used and not cleaned. Disappointed for the fact that when I stayed with this hotel brand I usually encountered decent experience; the room were clean with sufficient amenities. Unfortunately this has been a let down. The room (611) has no view except wall. Collapse

Courtyard in Boston

I liked the amenities of the particular Courtyard that we stayed at, such as a centrally-located Microwave and the computer lab. Hot chocolate was nice in the morning. The gym could probably use a scale. Thanks.

Staff across the board was wonderful. We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff as well as the breakfast staff the next morning, and enjoyed our conversations with them; we walked by the cleaning staff at one point and were greeted warmly by them as well- These are all important details and were appreciated. Many thanks to the staff. However: Walls were paper thin- I could hear my neighbor's phone conversation as well as the person on the other end (hope all is well with Ollie, but not super great to hear the phone call at 4:30am). All night long heard footsteps and conversation of people passing my door on the way to the elevator for partying or coming home from the bars- and not just footsteps, but a lot of partiers were walking the halls. If I can hear their footsteps alone, I'm definitely hearing all the drunken shouts and laughter. A party was going on somewhere near me until 1am and the bass echoed through the walls and weed smell wafted through the hallway. I tried to cover up the noise with the fan in the room but it wasn't very loud and also heated the room intensely even though the room was only set at 65 (We were sweating!). Sleep was absolutely minimal- a few minutes here and there. Drastic change needs to happen to accommodate for the noise- it was frustrating to have such little sleep as well as to be in my room and hear so much noise from all around me. The room was small, but that's to be expected of any room in the city and the booking clearly gave ranges of sq per room, so I knew what to expect- it was not a big deal. The downstairs lobby was beautiful and location was fine. A used cleaning towel was left in the bathroom when we arrived. Glad to know it had (hopefully) been used to clean the bathroom but... if that was forgotten, what else was forgotten? There were some short hairs in the toilet, so I suspected that might have been one of the pieces forgotten. Water was in the room but was $5. They did offer complimentary water on the 15th floor, but I imagine a lot of people might miss that piece. And, the view out the window was of a wall from another building, so really, our view was of brick. Overall, I paid far more than what I got- for the money spent, the room (and walls!) should have been much higher quality, the heating/fans should have been more updated, and complimentary water should have been sitting in the room or given upon arrival, among many other things. This space has potential, but needs major upgrades to manage the challenges in old buildings (noise/heating/walls etc) and is not worth a stay. Collapse
