We stayed three nights prior to our river cruise at this hotel. It met all of our needs. I was able to book an executive room which was well worth the money. We had snacks practically all day long with beer and wine much of the day. Upon arrival late morning, our room was ready which was a pleasant surprise. Since we had traveled from the US we were tired and found enough food in the executive lounge to keep us going until the next day. The breakfast was great. If you couldn't find something to eat, you are picky. I didn't find the spa until the last day which was a mistake on my part. The whirlpool was great after all the walking on cobblestones. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not hear any noise from outside or from other rooms--very quiet. If we ever come back to Budapest, we will certainly stay here. Collapse

Stayed here for 2 nights in April as part of a business trip. I am not sure how this hotel has a 5 star rating - it definitely doesn't deserve this. I stayed here as my normal choices of hotel (kempinski or Sofitel) were booked out. +PROS: 1. Hotel lobby is nice 2. Decent size rooms 3. Bed was comofortable - CONS: 1. Location is not great - it is a bit away from the main part of town (approx. 20-30 minute walk), 2. Rooms are outdated 3. Air Condition didn't work in my room. I called up when I arrived and they said they would fix it. Nothing happened so had a terrible night sleep. The next morning I called up and they said they would look at it immediately. Two hours later, no one had come so I called up yet again. Finally the hotel manager came to the room and admitted it was too hot. In fairness he had maintenance there 5 minutes later and they were able to fix it. 4. When I had arrived back to my room on the second day, the cleaner had left all their cleaning goods in my room and just disappeared for an hour. Not sure what was going on there. 5. Coffee machine in room didn't work. 5. SPA/Pool: Be warned, they charge expensive prices to use the pool/spa in the hotel. There are nicer spa/pool facilities at other hotels in Budapest (eg kempinski or Sofitel + many more) and they let you use it free of charge. Collapse

The most beautiful hotel architecturally, the reception was always filled with fresh flowers. The room however wasn't anything special and I'm sure was similar to most other hotels in Budapest. Few watch outs : 1. You have to pay a £650 deposit on arrival . Neither of us had a credit card so we're asked to get cash. As we had already paid for the hotel we disputed and finally they wavered. 2. Hotel had no power on the Friday ( first night) so meant we were in the dark, there was also no water. Power finally came back on but we had no wifi until Sunday night, nobody told us what had happened we were just ushered to walk up to the 5th floor ( lucky we're fit) 3. Spa access doesn't come with every room. Make sure you check it caught us out. 4. We booked through booking.com and paid on arrival . We were however charged £40 more than what was on our confirmation. The hotel said it was down to exchange rate and didn't refund . Collapse

Stayed for 6 nights over Easter and had an exceptional stay. The hotel is ideally placed for walking around the city or taking the underground which has a station right outside the hotel. The food in the hotel was second to none and the cocktails were an experience to watch being put together. I would certainly recommend this hotel as the staff were very attentive without being to much in your face. This hotel is up with those of a much higher price. We will be returning. Collapse

Checked in on Saturday and out on Wednesday - An absolutely stunning Hotel in the heart of Budapest. Unfortunately we did not get to use all the services available as there is just so much to see and do in Budapest. The Hotel is Very centrally located & within walking distance of most attractions. But for me the Hotel Staff Are What makes your stay what it is, and I have to say without exception the team at the Corinthia are exceptional at customer service. If we ever get the opportunity to come back to Budapest again we will definitely stay here. Collapse
