I would highly recommend The Anndore House. We felt welcomed before we even got there with helpful and quick correspondence to any and all questions we had. We were also getting married during our stay and Jared was extremely helpful before and on the day which made the whole day so much more special. I can't thank Jared and the team at the Anndore enough for an amazing trip and helping us celebrate such a wonderful day! The hotel is situated very close to the station and the rooms are beautiful and very welcoming especially after a day of exploring the area. The staff were very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and further and if there was anything we needed to know we could ask and knew we'd get an answer. I feel that we may have been spoilt here as I cannot remember staying anywhere as lovely as this. Thank you so much for a wonderful time! Collapse
5 stars but maybe not for everyone.

If you like the plush uniform wearing Hilton trump style hotels, this might not be for you. If you like a truly funky cool downtown location that exemplifies Toronto, it is for you! Footsteps away from Young Street, tres chic appointed rooms. Wonderfully helpful staff, with a great attitude. During my visit was still construction. There was a few other bugs they need to work out, but I think they will get there. Really great comfortable rooms, as I said, not everybody style. Water pressure is low, ice only available on the main floor, but you would expect that from a downtown hotel. I would definitely stay there again. Collapse
Exceeded all expectations!

In the interest of breviety I will break this review down into headed sections so you can skip ahead to the areas that most interest you. Background: My finacee' (at the time, now wife) and I went to Toronto with the intention of getting married in Canada and also having something of a honeymoon whilst we were there. This was intended to remove some of the stress and logistical issues that come with most weddings.... apparently such things are unavoidable in almost any wedding scenario including ours. I am however pleased to say we had a successful wedding/honeymoon and a large debt of gratitude goes to The Anndore House. Staff: As you may be aware the Anndore is a relatively new hotel, something I considered before booking, I like most nowadays rely on online reviews to guage a place or service before using it and as such I booked the Anndore with some degree of trepidation, thankfully any concerns quickly evaporated when I spoke with the staff both prior to and following our booking, one member of the Anndore in particular Jared, could not have done any more for us. I mentioned early on that we had planned to get married whilst in Toronto and with that in mind our choice of hotel and location was important, a bad hotel could really impact on our wedding day and honeymoon. Thankfully any concerns were quickly forgotten during my interactions with the staff prior to arrival. Just one example was the trouble Jared took to map out our route from the airport to the hotel, giving us multiple options for cost and convience. Later, after we arrived, he sat down with us and checked our route to our wedding destination, gave us advice on vehicle rentals and even offered to accompany us to the rental company if we needed, all of which went well beyond our expectations and served to remove a great deal of stress from our wedding plans. We arrived at the Anndore tired from our flight. The staff were friendly and welcoming and quickly got us checked in, we went up to our room, which we discovered had been upgraded to a suite by Jared, and were met with a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice and a card from Jared and the team wishing us a great stay and all the best with our wedding. This gesture set the tone for the rest of our stay, we were both touched and excited for the week ahead. Jared and his team really did go above and beyond for us, if we had any questions or requests they were more than happy to help and did so quickly and effectively, I haven't stayed in a hotel prior to this where I didn't find at least one member of staff to be rude, obnoxious or disconcertingly obsiquous at one point or another, not here though, the team at the Anndore were both genuine and helpful and really set the bar for all future hotels we stay in. Area: The Anndore is located within 5 minutes walking distance of the main train services, from which you can travel across Toronto, to the airport and catch the Go service to venture further afield. There are also several car rental services within the same area if you would prefer to rent a vehicle and the option of valet parking at the hotel, which we used and found to be exceptionally convienient. In terms of other amineties within walking distance you have a variety of restaurants and fast food chains as well as cinemas and shops. In short, it is a very well situated hotel, if you want to use public transport you easily can, rent a car, you can, or, as we chose to do most days, walk, you can easily do that as well. Hotel itself: We stayed in one of the suites, which was large and immaculate. There were two main rooms, a living room with a corner sofa and TV, with a hall linking the large bathroom and bedroom. There were two HD (possibly 4K) Samsung TVs, around 49inches if I had to guess, and a plethora of quaint and charming touches, like a record player complete with a small selection of records, coffee table books and interesting little touches throughout, all of which quickly dispelled with the normal feeling of cookie cutter rooms you get in most hotels. It genuinely felt like our home for the time we stayed in Toronto. The rooms are all touch key cards, rather than the insert key cards that often flash angrily in a rainbow of no entry colours when you try and use them, which was a welcome change. My wife and I have been to numerous places around the world and stayed in many hotels and you quickly develop a mental tick list of what you really want in a hotel room. Mine is as follows, space, cleanliness, a shower that's consistent in temperature and a good size, a bed that is comfortable and a good size, a TV, and above all, good sound insulation so you aren't kept up all night with slamming doors or neighbours stomping around or charging the walls in a rage. All of my tick list was met during our stay, in some cases even exceeded. Finally: I don't often leave reviews, I, like most, will leave a bad review if somewhere really vexes me, but rarely leave good reviews. I am also not prone to hyperbole, especially when writing reviews, I prefer to stick to the facts because in reality that's all you need in a review. However, in this case I had to break some of my own rules as I really, genuinely was impressed by the Anndore in every sense. For such a special trip something like a bad hotel could have really affected our wedding day, but Jared and the team went out of their way to ensure we were well looked after, beyond all expectations. I honestly believe if we had just visited under normal circumstances we would have received the same treatment, I was privy to a number of staff/guest interactions and the approach was always the same, nothing was too much and the guests enjoyment during their stay was paramount. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, thank you again to Jared and the team at The Anndore House. Collapse

Would definitely recommend the Anndore House. Great location for the yonge and bloor subway lines. Comfortable and stylish rooms and a friendly welcome. Only slight drawback was the bar & restaurant wasn't open yet when we visited. However the staff provided a complimentary take away breakfast and advised us of this prior to arrival. If you are staying here Sabai Sabai is a must eat restaurant located beside bloor subway Collapse

I stayed two nights at this awesome boutique hotel. It wasn't quite finished but I knew that so not a problem. First the staff was awesome, friendly, helpful and they totally rocked it! Location was great. I loved my room, and can't remember when I slept better. They gave me an early check in and a late checkout. I had the loft, it looked exactly like picture but maybe a little smaller but they gave you the size in description. The room was super clean, and I loved the amenities. It has a mini fridge and free wifi. It was perfect!! Okay, if I had to complain, well not really a complaint. The record selections..oh, well...lol, it was terrible. Maybe a record library would be nice and a robe would be cool. Truthfully though, I LOVED this hotel. I look forward to revisiting once bar and restaurant is open. Collapse
