If management is hearing this, a receptionist by the name of john didn't do what we asked, we asked for a booking of a table in the olive kitchen and bar but when we arrived the receptionist of olive kitchen and bar said there was never a booking under our name, so our dinner at the restaurant was delayed for one day, there was also a really rude black receptionist wearing red glasses, plus the room is extremely small and the shower was incredibly weak and cramped Collapse

Location is fabulous, a 200 meter walk from Nyhavn. I stayed there with a girlfriend and was asked if we wanted to relocate to one of their new rooms for an extra 400 kr. Was told that the view was better. After sighting the room, we didnt believe that a view out to the car park waranted an extra 400 kr (appox 75 Aus dollars). We decided to stay with our original booking. The room was out to a closed court yard with a lot of noise. This was not explained to us and hence after the first night we asked for a change. Again, communication was lacking as our new room was up three flights of stairs with no lift and we had luggage and no help getting it there. We felt very strongly that the communication was not transparent and direct. We were not told that the dinning room was closed for renovation, therefore no room service. On the last morning we had pre arranged a breakfast pack because I had to be at the airport at 7 am. Again this was not communicated to front desk staff and was not done so we left without. Disappointing and in many areas a let down due to a lack of clear and concise communication from staff and between staff. Collapse

I'm an writing this review from my very comfortable bed in Skt Annae, the problem is that I have been awake since 5am because the only way for the room to be a bearable temperature (despite it only being 17 degrees outside) is to have the window open. This morning I was woken by a cacophony of bin lorries and reversing alarms as well as the regular slamming of the front door beneath us which I can only assume to be staff as it has begun at around 6 am every morning we have stayed here. When we arrived we were offered a chance to upgrade to a newly refurbished room in the main building which we declined and were given keys to room 12 which we were surprised to find was in another building further down the road. The decor is nice and the room an ok size, there is a strong sulphur smell in the bathroom which has been unpleasant at times but on the whole this hotel would have been great...if I had been able to sleep! There is an instruction leaflet for air con in the room but the air con does not exist. I would be fine with sleeping with a window open normally but there is a lot of heavy vehicle traffic for the hotels and restaurants around here. Hotel appears very nice in the communal areas but as we were staying in the block down the road we didn't see very much of it. This stay would have been drastically improved with some air conditioning and if someone fixed the front door so that it didn't slam. Copenhagen is beautiful and worth a visit, I'm just not sure I would pay to come back to this hotel, I'm looking forward to going home today so that I can get a good nights sleep! Collapse

I write this in a rainy London, completely missing the beauty of Copenhagen. It was a wonderful trip and even though this is a review of Hotel Skt. Annae, I definitely recommend exploring this incredible city. Returning to my thoughts of the hotel, I was rather appalled on arrival. We were greeted by a rather unhelpful and unfriendly lady. Days before flying to Copenhagen, my friend and I had contacted the hotel to ask about any fees or payments we would need to make upon arrival; as students, every penny counts. We were assured that we had paid in full and that NOTHING would be required after that. To my dismay, we were forced to pay a deposit of 600 kroner, leaving quite a dent in our wallets. After collecting our keys, we were further greeted by a construction site along the corridor of our room. It smelt of paint and my friend tripped over a box in the hallway. The room itself was fairly clean and met our expectations for the price we had paid. There was no hot water. We had to call and ask the hotel staff to come and check our shower, but were eventually forced to bathe in cold water. I have to say though, focusing on more positive aspects of our stay, the location is ideal! Minutes away from the city centre and huge tourist attractions, everything was extremely accessible. I have to give a further shoutout to Niklas, who works the reception in the nights. He was our own personal tour guide, giving us plenty of tips and ideas for exploring the beautiful city. After stumbling in at 5am from a great bar, Niklas extended our check out time to 12:30, giving us an extra hour in bed - a huge deal for girls preparing for a hangover that same morning. All in all, I am left with one conclusion that the customer service of this hotel was its biggest downfall. I would merely recommend for location. I can't say I'm planning on returning. Collapse

We stayed here about 3 weeks ago for 4 nights. The location is superb. Walkable to key attractions, but nice and quiet. The hotel lobby is very nice, the breakfast is quite good, and the staff are very helpful. There were two problems. One is the ongoing renovations others have mentioned, although there again it showed the staff being helpful and responsive, as I had sent them an email about this, and they responded promptly and provided a quiet room. The real problem is the size of the rooms, just tiny for us. Now I know that Copenhagen has small rooms and we were expecting that, but believe me, we've stayed in other cities with notoriously small rooms (like Tokyo), and this was just not acceptable. I'm sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, no amount of renovation will fix the essential problem, and I would give this hotel a pass. I gave them three stars only because of the staff and the location.
