We chose the Clarion Anaheim for it's proximity to the parks and also because it had a pool. Price of course was a factor. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised as it is nicely kept, very friendly staff, and great amenities. First of all, Alex at the front desk was so great! He was super friendly and has a great sense of humour. He had us checked in quickly and had noticed some notations on our reservation, so he made sure to give us a nice room with a view of the pool. They have a good restaurant, a little gift shop filled with Disney and California souvenirs, and a shuttlebus ticket machine right in the lobby which are all very convenient. The pool was absolutely awesome. Would we go back? You bet we will. Looking forward to another trip in 2020 Collapse
Laughably bad...stay somewhere, ANYWHERE else!

OK, I've stayed in some physically great hotels with really poor staff and service, and I've stayed in some really run down hotels with great staff, but the Clarion has is a terrible hotel with unattentive, rude staff and if I was travelling with young children, I think there are some things that are downright dangerous... First, the physical. It's a Clarion, I don't expect 4 star accommodations. But I don't expect furniture with dangerous metal rods sticking out, or wires hanging out of light fixtures...right? If I had young children, I'd be very concerned. See my photos for what I mean. The plastic peeling off the light fixture is just tacky and so easy to fix if anyone cared... And they don't care. So second the staff. I told the front desk about both the wires hanging out of the fixture and the sharp metal rod hanging out of the furniture on my first day here, five nights ago. They acted like they didn't care and guess what? It wasn't an act! The final straw was tonight when my wife asked me if I'd got the FedEx she sent me two days ago. I had not. After ten minutes on hold, I went down to the front desk. I had received a FedEx two days ago. When I suggested letting guests know they received packages the response was not an apology, but the line from Julian (I think - might have been Justin?) was 'well the front desk and the bell desk are two different companies so they have no way to know what room you are in'...the bell desk is 15' from the front desk... So here are two ideas - either walk to the front desk or if that is too much trouble CALL the front desk and ask them to leave a message, but that is clearly too much trouble. By the time I got the package the perishable contents were spoiled as the dry ice had all melted. OK, it was just a Valentines Day gift and not the end of the world, but very symptomatic of my experience at this hotel. It's not all bad - it's not terribly clean and very tired, but the beds are OK and there is lots of hot water. But Anaheim is chock full of hotels - working at the Convention Center a lot I've stayed at most of them and they are ALL better than the Clarion. Trust me - if you can, stay somewhere else. If you think you might have something important shipped to you, stay somewhere else. If you want a room thats 'kid safe'....stay somewhere else. I'm here another three days - I'll be interested to see if the hotel responds - I'm waging the first round at Mortons across the street they won't. Collapse

The Clarion offered amazing value for the dollar. It is the cheapest closest option to the convention centre (less than 2 minutes away) and only about a 10 minute walk away from Disney. There are many restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel making it very convenient. The room was excellent! The room was clean, great bathroom, and a nice balcony. Attractions besides Disney are a bit of a distance away however, if you’re willing to put in a 20 minute walk you’ll find some interesting things to do. With the money you save booking this hotel you’ll be able to cab around with minimum costs. The only thing I was disappointed about was that there was no hot tub to go with their outdoor pool. Overall would recommend to any young people just looking for a cheap convenient place to stay or a family on a budget. Collapse

First time in Los Angeles, we choose this hotel due to it’s prices and closeness to Disneyland. Great service, except they charge our parking fee to the credit card when we asked to pay it in cash. Will visit again if I go back to LA.

Stayed here for the recent NAMM convention (January 2018) for 5 nights. Despite having some misgivings having read a variety of online reviews, the stay here was comfortable. Check in was smooth and I was soon on my way up to my 5th floor room. The room itself was fairly large, with ample space for the 2 double beds. The room had a balcony, which was a nice addition. The washroom aspect was adequate, but the bathroom itself (as has been noted in other reviews) is actually very small, with the door and toilet in very close proximity. For a solo traveller however, it was fine. The room decor was dated and in need of some modernisation, but the beds were comfortable and I had good sleep each night. The room was well insulated and no noise from adjoining rooms or corridors could be heard. The TV and selection of channels were again, adequate. Water pressure and shower temperature were good, but the actual shower units and tubs could do with some modernisation (as is a theme throughout the review). I took breakfast on a couple of days in the restaurant in the lobby. The food was of a good standard and the service was good. Again, I used the bar on a couple of nights. Selection of drinks and pricing was good, too - but the bar's theme could do with some updating - a karaoke bar??! Something more fresh, bright and modern would be welcomed. Check out again was fairly smooth. The bill was accurate and the service standards good. The position of the hotel for convention centre guests couldn't be much better - a 2 minute walk. However, the hotel is showing its age and does need some renovation to bring it up to the standards of modern hotels. However, for the stay, I felt welcomed and the it was a good place to stay and sleep. No problems with either cleanliness or service standards were seen during my stay. Facilities in room included a coffee machine, safe and a fridge, which is basically all I required during my stay. The hotel shop in the lobby was well stocked and with reasonable pricing. I didn't use the fitness facilities or the pool - but from looking at them, they really could do with some improvement to bring them up to the standards of similarly priced hotels in the vicinity. Otherwise, a good stay and I was pleased with the standards for the price paid - especially during NAMM week. I would happily stay again. Collapse
