Could you supply water and tea near the dining room for quests in the off hours? The morning breakfast was very nice. There was plenty of food to choose from. The reception area helpers were well informed and friendly.

Surprised that it’s quite a stylish hotel on the inside despite its old 80s exterior. Location +: right across the road from the western end of the main shopping street, some nice restaurants around too. Walking distance to the famous church, and it’s nice to stroll in the adjacent neighborhood. We found a few nice bakeries and cafes that you wouldn’t get in the Main Street. -: a little far from the main action of the shops, which is about a ½ hr walk to the east. Room +: clean, modern, but a little basic. -: considering this is a city hotel, we found the rooms a little bit too basic - especially because the lobby and bar were so modern and stylish. Quite a bare and stoic design in the rooms, and rather cramped too. Though we did stay here twice and on our second stay the room was a lot bigger and more modern - perhaps a newer wing. And they don’t provide toothbrushes or other vanity kits. They have to be purchased, and things in Iceland are very expensive. Amenities +: Nice and stylish restaurant, bar and outdoor hot pool. The kind of place that you would go to with your friends for a night out. -: there was a gym but you had to pay something like 40 euros to use it even as a guest. Collapse

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Iceland, and staying in Reykjavik. The staff was most friendly, always asking us if we needed anything, we only spent one night there, but felt very much at home.

I have to admit I never in my whole life would ever think of visiting Iceland but my Partner and Myself taken a brainstorm and booked it for her 50th Birthday which was lovely. When we went to Reykjavik itself it had the feel of a Christmas/Alpine fishing town and was lovely to walk around the place, taking in the trips and of course sampling great Icelandic hospitality. The Centrehotel Midgardur had hospitality in abundance. The staff in the hotel were lovely including the receptionists, bar staff and restaurant staff making you feel welcome and feeling the warmth from them too. The Icelandic people made us so welcome especially the staff in our hotel and would also like to thank them for the wee birthday wishes they sent to my partner with chocolates etc. I hope to come back to Reykjavik again soon and will be back at this hotel which I recommend highly. Very hospitable hotel run by lovely people. Keep up the good work and thank you so much Centrehotel Midgadur. Collapse

Spent one night in this hotel with my wife. There is a small public parking lot right next to the hotel. So if u rent a car during your trip in Iceland, you could park here for overnight. The room is nice, clean and spacious. Design is simple by compare to their lobby area. I love their lobby, lounge and cafe a lot. The design is really nice and their buffet breakfast is very nice too. There are many shops and restaurants around the hotel, it is a good thing as you dont need to go too far to get things tp eat during thr cold winter time. Staff are helpful and friendly. Collapse
