Booked hotel as was going to a wedding reception near by , but after checking in and paying my monies I went to a room that was run down and dirty with cobwebs old furniture but thought ok yes it's not a premier inn! But soon realised after trying to charge phones it had no power through sockets so my partner went to reception to inform them to which there reply was " sorry nothing I can do "!! But you can charge phones out here. To this I then went to reception and said the room is not fit to stay in in if any private landlords were renting stuff out like this the places would be condemned. After promises and promises saying I will get my monies back as I didn't spend longer than 10minutes there I've had many communications with the receptionists and even spoke to the owners son but it seems they just like giving false hope over the phone and hope you'll give up! I've been in contact with booking.com who I did the booking through and they haven't had much luck either. This is email they sent me !!! Booking.com Home | FAQ Manage booking Dear Eirwen Lewis, Thank you for choosing Booking.com, my name is Brittany and I humbly thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you today. On our website we offer a wide variety of options - every accommodation type from tents to luxury resorts to suit every budget and style in over 80.000 global destinations. And to help our customers pick and choose their accommodation, we offer helpful information and tools, such as verified guest reviews and price information that allows guests to make price-value trade-offs. We’ve reviewed your complaint and noticed that 448 real guests have already voiced their opinion on the property and rate it at a 6.0. What we can learn from the comments is that there is some room for improvement, and issues such as dated facilities, and intermittent wifi were mentioned in several reviews. If you value good hotel facilities and services, we’d advise you to book accommodations with an average rating of 7 or higher. We also recommend reading some of the reviews, as they are all written by actual guests. I would strongly advise DO NOT stay here, staff were rude and offered no solution to having no hot water, mouldy and filthy rooms which clearly have not been cleaned at all, have taken extensive photographs, wallpaper damp, mouldy, peeling and just papered over holes in the wall, the extra bedding was just shoved in bottom of wardrobe not washed or folded, was a dirty grey colour and smelt very strongly of damp which filled the room, the rubbish from previous guests was just thrown out the window and filled the balcony, the window sill was broken and hanging off in mid air, the window locks were also broken allowing anyone access if they so chose. When asking the staff for help or a solution the response we were met with was "what do you want me to do about it??" There was no tea/coffee facilities or wifi as offered when booking, when asked about wifi we were told "it must be your phones, wifi isn't very good here anyway you'll have to go downstairs" which isn't very helpful when you've a newborn and partner in the army abroad so can't contact. We had five adults, a 6 yo, two 4yo and a new born with us but still offered no solutions, or even any concern for the children health especially with the copious amounts of mould and damp. I would have assumed we have just been very unfortunate with this room but sadly we have booked three rooms totalling almost £200 for one night and all three are in exactly the same state, we are very disappointed and disgusted with the condition of the hotel through out and lack of customer service and motivation from staff, on speaking with other guests we are aware this is the general way in how guests are treated. This is by far the WORST hotel we have stayed in and never will again. I have just returned to collect my charger to be told it's not here, so staff obviously think it's ok to steal too, I've been told I'm Lieing about asking for support with the above issues and there's nothing wrong with the rooms, "if there is, why didn't you complain last night?" Charming attitude to have when giving an honest review of the hotel Collapse

Cheap yes but to be honest the place wants knocking down. Dark and gloomy inside, only coffee facilities were in the bar nothing in the rooms. Carpets rotten and frayed Room smelt of wet dog with mold on the walls Cheap old fluorescent energy saver bulbs gave a nice orange gloom to the room. No hot water in the morning at all meaning we couldn't try out the rusty shower...shame. Reported the problem and told it was going to be looked into. The problem was not resolved by the time we left so I mentioned it again on check out. We were told the boilers were working, clearly not as there was no water coming out the pipes!! Asked to see the manager only to be fobbed off with they don't have one?? All complaints to be filed through their general inquiries email (which I shall be doing). The place is a joke. Collapse
