The hotel its self is nice. Clean rooms, fresh towels, beds made lovely staff. Plenty of sunbeds for durning the daytime. Overall a good location for the hotel . the hotel has good facilities. BUT!!!!!! -The food is horrendous, same things over and over just in a different sauce. People are having to order food from local pizza hut for there teas or are going out for meals. And also going to local supermarkets for drinks and crisps for snacks as the times for the food is bad its breakfast 8-10 am Snacks (which is burger and chips or hotdog and chips ) 11am-12pm Dinner 1-3pm Snacks which is a piece of cake on the bar 4-5pm Tea 6-9pm Which means theres not access to food durning the hours between. They charge for ice creams out of a vending machine. -Staff can be rude at times. -drinks are intermittent at times, going from too sweet to, to chemically changed. - entertainment on a night time isnt good enough for the whole family not enough room for the discos and kids games and may be dangerous at times like playing tug of war on concrete, Also repetitive. -the pool is a good size however having trouble with the chemicals causing kids/ adults to have ear and eye infections. -Not enough seating on a night. -wifi is NOT free. Would i go again yes because of the place but no because of the bad points stated. It needs a serious lift! Collapse

Stayed here as a family of 9 for the first week of August. Arrived at the hotel about 10.00pm so missed dinner but we were left fruit, sandwiches and water in the fridge in the room (which we didn't eat). Rooms are very basic but ours was kept clean. Maids gave us clean towels 5 out of the 7 days. Not sure about clean bedding as we never got under the sheets as it was far too hot!! We hired a fan which was a waste of money as it just blew hot air round. You have to pay a deposit & a fee for the safe/fan/tv remote. The food was ok, that's all I can say really! Breakfast was by far the best meal, I didn't each much at lunch or dinner as I didn't know what I was eating half the time. Not much choice for kids unless they like chips and pasta every day. Desserts are ok if you get there early so there are some left. Beer, wines and spirts are fine, but the soft drinks are like sugar water or acid if you have the orange juice, far too strong you have to water it down. Pool area is far too small and not enough loungers. We had to be typical brits abroad and get up early to get a sunbed or you weren't getting one. We saw someone putting thier towels down at 11.30 one night!! The sunbeds are meant to be chained up and unlocked at 6.30 but I think they gave up on that idea in the end. Far too many people with inflatables in the pool and a lot of the older kids were too rowdy and swearing a lot. Not good when we travelled with 8, 6 & 5 year olds. The pool is salt water and it was filthy, you couldn't see the bottom of the pool although it didn't make us ill as some people have said. Maybe we were just lucky! Although someone in our group did come down with a gastro problem and had to have the doctor out but not sure if this was anything to do with food or drink. The shower and taps in the bathroom are also salt water so take plenty of conditioner with you as it makes your hair so dry. On the last day we had an infestation of ants in the bathroom sink but I just washed these away. The location is ok, quiet and a 5 minute walk to a little shop. If you walk down the drive from the hotel and take a left, Holiday World is about a 15 minute walk. Straight over at the island at the bottom of the drive to the shop and a restaurant and cafe. There are plenty of taxis at the end of the drive and it only costs €3 to Maspalomas beach/Lighthouse/shops etc. All in all we had a pleasant stay but I can't say I'd ever go back but you've paid for a 2* hotel so don't expect a luxurious boutique hotel. Just returned back from this hotel after spending 16 days here, worst experience ever. Hotel very basic and rooms seriously need air conditioning as the temperatures hit high 20's on the night, you can hire a fan for 30 euros but this don't help. Rooms were cleaned and I must admit the maids do work hard. Food was terrible it was cold and little choice, no children's menu so we only ate one main meal in the restaurant and only ate toast for breakfast, I thought it was just us being fussy but after speaking to quite a few people they all thought the same, if you like salad then your fine but eating the same thing everyday is not would you expect for an all inclusive holiday and they place a picture of either a cow, chicken or pig so you don't really know what you are eating, everything was bland. Pool was very small considering the amount of people and even though you wasn't meant to reserve sunbeds most were gone by 730am. After complaining to the holiday company on day 3 about issues I had regarding our stay I was emailed a response from the hotel stating if I wasn't happy then check out rather harsh considering what I was saying was correct. Not really any entertainment and come to 11pm the bar was quickly shut. We were told only 2 drinks per person yet one barman gave certain people 4 drinks and yet when we asked the answer was no only 2 seemed to be one rule for one and one for another. We asked for a late checkout and was told no rooms available but when we looked online we could book a room so how does that work? Overall Gran Canaria was nice very quiet but the kids liked the aquapark and the yumbo centre was great. Would highly recommend the The Red Cow/Shennigans bar and the Musical Hall Tavern night but the hotel was a total let down, after saving hard for a family holiday and having to pay the same amount again eating out each day I would not go back to the hotel unless it was self catering and had air conditioning as I would just use it as a base!!!!!! Decided to ignore reviews about the holiday venue however what a mistake to make. After a 2 hour delay on the flight we ended up arriving later than expected to the oasis club and all amenities were closed. Given key to apartment 121 and was told food was put in fridge "wished I had taken a photo". Fruit was mouldy and half a dozen typical Spanish ham and cheese sandwiches. Can't moan too much about the food as it's your typical standard for the cost of holiday. Week 1 Maid service twice with one toilet roll each time so it's been a good experience for my 2 children, they may start economising more at home. Hotel had a visit from environmental health and all of a sudden deep clean in operation. Whilst the deep clean was taking place all the cockroaches decided to descend on our lower floor apartment (horror movie + no maid service) I don't think the tour operators care too much as on the inspection there was also inadequate fire escapes and at the back of the building the one fire escape had a chain and padlock on it. So the management decided to pull out all the stops and manufacture a new set of gates with grinders and welding plants whilst we were sunbathing, by this time I was feeling tip top about the 2 week holiday. I decided to approach reception about the maid service to be told they have had no access to the apartment. A little confused about the response, I could only think the door was jammed due to the lack of maintenance on the duplexes. I can't be bothered with the rest but if you want a mixture of traditional Spain and backward attitude this is the place to be. I do believe that when reps are put into a resort you do have a lot better response and help. Tour operators are probably clueless to there customers distresses. P.s avoid the lager from the pool bar don't think lines have been cleaned for along time. Thanks Monarch Collapse

Just returned from a weeks holiday here, booked last minute. Myself, Hubby 14 @ 10 year old daughters.. Only meal we ate was breakfast, we went out everyday to beaches, town & aqua-land (basically to get away from the overcrowded pool/bar/restaurant. I was upset upon arrival due to how claustrophobic I felt, they changed our room to one that had a balcony but same sort of set up, a tiny little room with 2 single beds upstairs and a sofa pull out for 2 small ppl down stairs. Staff at breakfast couldn't wait to take your plate from you and clean table for next sitters, staff in reception did say hello now and then but never asked about our stay when we left!? We just gave our key back and that was that. Every hotel we have stayed at, always ask did we enjoy our stay.!? Well had they asked I would have replied definitely not, so maybe they don't ask due to that response from most people. If you are prepared to get up at 6am to queue for a locked up sunbed you might be lucky to get one, that's if you want to lay around a smallish pool packed with people (for the people staying there we personally found it too small) Cleanliness for us was ok, room cleaned twice in the week and same for towels. Family of four in a tiny area would have liked more cleaning and fresh towels. Surrounded area is lovely, amadores beach in Puerto Rico is a must for beach lovers & aqua land was a fun packed day! Casa Del Mar restaurant on maspalomas beach front was beautiful, lush food, with live entertainment and lovely staff! The bamboo Chinese restaurant up the road from this place was lovely and so was Toscana grill, we had a mixed grill to share - delicious! I would totally go back to gran caneria but would never stay at this place again! Be mindful everybodies tastes are different some people like the hustle and bustle of AllInc hotels like this, we spoke to a number of families, half felt same way some even asked to move hotels or go home early and others didn't mind it and found it ok, nobody we spoke to loved it here, which is what everybody wants for a family holiday! we used it for somewhere to sleep.. only cos we paid for it, but we never got a good night sleep due to the high temperatures and NO AIR CON which is absolutely absurd. Would never return to this place. Collapse
