The place looks and feels like a residential care home which failed its last CQC inspection and the décor and layout genuinely reminded me of a place where people spend their senior years. The level of cleanliness in the rooms was equally abysmal and numerous body hair was found within the bedding of the first room. When we informed Helen on reception, she kindly showed us to the more executive ‘suites’ on the upper floor which again were probably cleaned by the same inept cleaner who either has a visual impairment, no pride in their job or no standards of cleanliness. I utterly dread to think what the cleaners house looks like. Unfortunately, the ‘suites’ on the upper floor are still of a low standard. To try and numb the pain caused by the visit, we decided to try and forget our worries by having a drink opted to brave the “pub” on the ground floor. Unfortunately, it was very quickly discovered that this “pub” had about as much atmosphere as the moon. In a desperate attempt to escape the horrors of The Bridge Inn, I visited The Kingfisher which is a brief walk across the bridge. Once finished in The Kingfisher, I had to do the “walk of shame” across the river to return to The Bridge Inn where I slept in a pit of embarrassment and other peoples body hair. I’ve given two stars as admittedly, the hotel served its functional purpose of providing me with a place to sleep. On a positive note, the car park at The Bridge Inn is very good and I was able to look at my car from my bedroom, though this wasn’t the view I was hoping for. Collapse

I went and met an old friend for a cosy coffee and a nibble and the bridge hotel. I admit the last time i had dinner here was in 2012 and when i was there last time it was very nice. Unfortunately this time i was very shocked when i walked in here as it had totally changed for the worse in my opinion. Before there was cosy booths and a nice pub diner like feel. Now its been totally opened up into a large open room with no character, charm or atmosphere whatsoever. I was ever so disappointed as i wanted a nice experience with my friend, but it was like sitting in a school canteen. the waiter there was very nice and helped me with the drinks over to the table and did everything he could to be nice and profesional. He went on a break and what seemed to be the manager was serving and he didn't convince me that he new what he was doing. I wouldnt come here again unfortunately as its rather a cold empty space. I will try the place across the bridge next time as that feels a bit more warmer.........BUT WHO KNOWS! WHAT AND SEE! Collapse

I stayed at the Bridge Hotel Chertsey as part of a business trip. The room was pretty big, and fairly well equipped. I was given a room with a river view, offering relaxing moments after work. Hotel staff was quite polite and accommodating, no problems there. The room was spacious, although the furniture did seem a bit outdated and the mattress was not the most comfortable I have slept on. That being said, the sleep quality was by no means bad. One thing I would note about the room is that the lighting was not enough, at least not to my liking. The bathroom was also big, boasting both a bathtub and a shower. Everything was working fine. The room was also adequately clean. I only had the chance to try continental breakfast, as I did not have much time at my disposal. The product selection was not very large, but it was enough. Overall it was a good breakfast experience. I particularly liked the breakfast hall, as it was overlooking the river. I also tried the restaurant (I had a sandwich), it was pretty good. All-in-all this is a good option for Chertsey, I'll probably stay again there if I have to visit Chertsey again. Collapse

On arrival the car park next to the hotel is under cover. This was good as it was raining at the time and allowed me to remove my bags from the car without getting wet. It also meant that the overnight frost did not affect the vehicle. The path to the rooms meant that you had to walk through the bar/restaurant, ok when empty but probably not convenient if full. The room I was given was very spacious and had a large double bed and good clean bathroom, extremely good for the size. The shower in my room although hot did not have alot of power and could have done with the showerhead de-scaled. Overall however very much worth the stay. Collapse
