Went for afternoon tea, many teas to chose from but the food on the trays left something to be desired, some of the sandwiches were dry and had obviously been made much earlier in the day and stored in the fridge, which bread never likes, the scones were claggy, the jam very runny but the cakes did look pretty but too sweet for me. For the money I would have expected better quality of food. Collapse

The service in the bar and at breakfast was good and appreciated. The pool was a nice temperature and the changing rooms were clean. It would be better to have a purpose built area for used towels but everyone seemed to leave them in a pile on the bench. The downside was our lack of greeting at reception on arrival, a smile and warm welcome should be standard, in my opinion. Would revisit though, with my own pillow. Mattress was great but pillow wasn't to my liking. Collapse

Stayed here the 5th of August. We film at Brands so its brilliantly close to the track. Initial impressions were exvellent. Beautiful front with amazing hanging baskets. Reception must have had a trainee on the desk. Young man who greeted us and opened the door was wonderfully friendly. Not so the apoarent trainee. She insisted on taking credit card details despite us assuring we woukdnt require anything else and that the room had been paid in advance. She showed us to room 4. On entering the room the wibdow was partially open with very loud chatting etc from outside. It overlooked the courtyard and there was a wedfibg party in full swing. It was 4.30pm. We explained our concerns ovee noise as we had ti be up early to go to tge rrack. She said there would be no problem as bar closes at 11.30 and besides the party wiuld be moving to spa area (it didnt) went to our room at 11.30. The noise from outside was dreadful. I shut the windows but it was still very audible. Eventually it ceased at 1am. But the party goers continued their noise in their rokms proceedibg to knock on each others doors for admittance and generally being inconsiderate to other visitors. The staff were clearing the area of the party until 1.30 which created more noise. We were woken at 7am by the bottle bank being filled and sonebe dropping a quanity outwith the bin which clattered very loudly. So about 5 hours sleep when we have a long days filming and a long drive home ...not good. We had dinner in the restaurant. Food was varying in quality. Cauliflower soup was watery and tasteless. Onion bread was superb as was the cheeseboard. One of us also had tge soup but it was slopoed down in such a huery that it sloshed ocer the tabke, clothing and member of staff. No apology or replacement. Mine was luke warm. Thecsaving grace was tge wonderful service given by Rachel who was extremely professional and attentive. I had the impression the poor girl was training new staff and realky felt for her. We told her of our issues in the mornibg and she was incredible and offered my husband a free breakfast but as we had to go to the track she did him a bacon sandwich to go instead and offered a hot chocolate and coffee as well. She was wonderfully helpful. Re the bedroom...for tge orice it was overpriced. Cramped. Dated and tge bed was back cripplingly soft. Like sleepibg on a marshmallow. It eas a warn night abd we had to endure the noise from tge oarty because the room got stuffy quickky due to two people in such a small space. Such a shame. I thik they need a visit from Alex Polizzi. There were many broken and uncomfortable items of furniture in the dining room and bar. Definately needs some TCL. All I can say is thank god for Rachel who should be applauded for her excellent customer care. Thankyou Rachel you are a great ambassador for your profession. Collapse

Grounds and communal areas are lovely and well maintained, but for such a vast appearing estate we were assigned one of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever seen. The bed although I didn't have a tape measure with me, I'm sure wasn't even a full size double. Even with the smaller bed size the room felt cramped, a wardrobe and desk along one wall left just enough space to walk down the side of the bed. With not much more room the other side to the wall. On the bright side the bed and pillows were comfortable and clean, with plenty of cushions. There's a small TV in one corner of the room, but looks like an after thought as the rest of the rooms furniture was dark solid wood and the TV unit was a cheap black glass and silver plastic number. Bathroom looked to be pretty new and everything worked perfectly, however again, very cramped. The absence of a fridge meant the water which was left when the room was made up was warm by the time we checked in at 5pm, and although we had about 15 tea bags and 10 coffee sachets on the kettle tray, only 4 tiny pots of milk. There is a lot of noise from cars, particularly in the morning and early evening, we were on the opposite side of the house to the road but could still hear all of this clearly. However it didn't disturb our sleep. We booked a package inclusive of dinner and although the food was lovely, the portion sizes left a lot to be desired - I wouldn't skip lunch that's for sure. Also, wine is extortionately priced, which although can be expected at a restaurant £32 for an £8 bottle of Merlot is ridiculous, the restaurant was pretty much empty the whole time we were in there (we were there around 2 hours) however it was a Tuesday. The meal seemed very expensive for what it was, without it being included in the package, it would've been £110 with a bottle of wine and to pay that and still be hungry I would be severely disappointed. Breakfast however was top notch, every item fresh and of top quality from the bread to the Croissant and the sausage was delicious. The staff were all friendly, polite and welcoming at all times. Overall not bad when bought as a package if you just want somewhere to sleep and eat but missing a few touches that would make it anything better than average. Collapse

We had a great weekend at Brands Hatch. Not even the track noise or wasps dented our enjoyment. Lovely hotel & great staff on both the hotel & spa side. Really want to highlight the fantastic service from one of the restaurant team - Toby. He was outstanding on the Sunday night's dinner service. His professionalism, politeness & efficiency really stood out. We travel widely in U.K. & abroad and have received much worse service from Michelin starred restaurants. This is a young man with a great future in hospitality - & we would be lucky to have him serve us again. (The food was also excellent) There is a great team at this hotel who work really hard to deliver an unusually high level of service. Collapse
