I am torn between 3 and 4 stars for this hotel. It is a beachfront hotel, and those have a tendency to be a bit more beat up than others. It’s also an old building, and so you get all the quirks with that. It has a fantastic location, and with the upgraded channel facing junior suite, we had an incredible view and lovely breeze through the windows. I’d hate to face the other direction though, so the extra expense is worth it. The bed was fairly comfortable, the bedroom spacious. The shower was absolutely abysmal, and frankly something I’d expect from a Motel 6. It was tiny, barely enough room to stand in, the lining was cracked/broken in multiple places, and it was filthy, or was so old and worn out that it had the appearance of being so dirty. There was a narrow tub also with a shower head so I opted for that... still had to shower with the curtain touching me though. A rod that bends out could help resolve that. Friendly staff! Great location to the beach, peer, activities, park and restaurant. The hotel just needs to be spruced up, especially the shower area. Collapse
Lovely hotel, location and weather. Hotel service needs improvement.

We stayed for two nights over the bank holiday weekend. The hotel décor style is lovely and staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, the outside pool was very murky and looked dirty. There were no beers at the poolside bar on Saturday as they had run out. Dinner service on Sunday was painfully slow even though we had ordered in advance. One or two of the staff were casual and seemed to have a bit of an attitude, querying a missing drinks order and then dismissing a question about an item on the menu. The food at lunch time was disappointing, tasteless and bland. In the evening, glasses were not collected for hours and built up on the tables. Breakfast service seemed to be chaotic although the food was reasonable. At one stage the female staff member on the omelette counter shouted to her colleague in a loud, sarcastic exasperated voice "How many more people!" Our rooms very serviced very late in the afternoon and seemed to have been only superficially tidied. After this an item of clothing went missing and I didn't feel that it was taken particularly seriously by the reception staff. We were 100% sure that it had been removed from the room. They did not take details and went through the motions of contacting housekeeping. The shower fittings were old and broken in one of our rooms. Dirty windows. Overall it was a lovely weekend but the hotel fell short of expectation. Collapse

The didn‘t clean the room in these days (the only made the bad and to the rubbish of the bin) :( but the front desk team was really nice and friendly and I really loved the cookies which where served next in the front desk and the water with lemon. Really nice and fresh! Collapse

We were supposed to stay two nights but left after the first night. Where do I start? First we were given the smallest room that faced a brick wall. We expected a little more empathy considering we travelled with our 10 month old baby. After complaining about the room size they arranged a much bigger room for us. Funny how they try and pile you off first, hoping you will keep quiet. Why not think and be considerable in the first place? Next was the interior. Furniture that seemed to be from the eighties...used up and old looking with the most uncomfortable bed I lied in. I spotted hair in the bathroom that wasn’t coming from us, everything seemed dirty in the room. The floors were so quweaky you could hear everything from above and below. We then decided to order room service, my god! The worst meal ever, a handful burned frozen chips with a burned burger in an old bun. It was disgusting and cost us 40£. Nothing about this place is good apart from the location. It was an appalling experience, never again! We were hoping to have a relaxed experience unfortunately came home being stressed and tired, I would never recommend this place to anyone. Collapse
