We found the room extremely comfortable and catered for all of our needs. Felt the restaurant was a little austere and rather chilly, however the food on offer was excellent and not overpriced and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

Really lovely 'boutique' hotel. Very attentive staff, immaculate rooms and a much better than normal continental breakfast. Very near the station so easy access to London or, for example, Hampton Court Palace in the other direction.

Arrived for a 3 night stay, parking was included and so was breakfast. parking was not at the hotel, but the masonic lodge about 5 mins walk away, not very clear at point of booking. Breakfast turned out to be a continental breakfast with so so choice, you can have a cooked breakfast but only a sat and Sunday with a nice choice, but didn't get to try it as out stay was mid week, again not very clear at point of booking, when i questioned it they said it was in the small print, We don't all have time to read endless amounts of small print when booking hotels, clear and transparent at the choosing of room and booking would be much better. The room was a good size and fairly clean, small things like 2 of us booked in 1 bottle of water. The bed was so hard I woke up aching all over and had to request a topper and extra duvet to try and aliviate some of the pain, rooms very hot, but did have air con. All windows had roller blinds that you had to pull with a metal chain and this could be heard though the walls of other rooms. The kettle was on a tray in the wardrobe with a built in docking ring to boil it but no socket the socket was on the wall under the window, but no where to actually put the tray other than the floor and make you tea on the floor. The bed and 2 long handing light made of heavy metal that swung about if you accidental caught them, but neither of these worked, so had to request for them to be checked. Box of tissues by the bed had 1 tissue in it so had to ask for this to be refilled surely house keeping should check all of this? We thought we have dinner in our room the first night, the menu is lacking choice but we thought wed give it a go. Burger ok, how wrong can you get a burger, with onion rings made up of "homemade" and frozen ones!!! I had Bang bang chicken with noodles well there was about 4 to 5 teaspoon pieces of chicken and greasy noodles with peppers. Next night after a long day sightseeing with thought wed give the restaurant 1 more go.The young man waiter was polite helpful and pleasant. I ordered Fish which was very nice and cooked well, but wanted a Parmesan and rocket salad and onion rings with it. No Parmesan no onion rings(guess that's why we had a mismash the night b4 with onion rings) so asked for the hotel manager and got the restaurant manager, all he did was make feeble excuses and wasn't really interested in my issues that we had it was if he could be bothered to listen if fact walked off. He did as a gesture give us a free drink, but that was slightly coerced on our side. There was no hotel manager to speak to. It didn't seem as if there was actually a manger on duty, the staff seemed to go where ever the need was. Manager changing bedrooms as house keeping forgot to do it and had gone home, waiters running up requests for rooms, like when i asked for an extra duvet. Its run on a shoestring and they cant for-fill customers request. I asked for some mash potatoes to go with the fish, but that was impossible, basics of the small menu couldn't be got till the next delivery came in. It wasn't that cheap and to be honest you know what your getting and a better price and breakfast from either the travel lodge or premier inn. They claim they are 4 star, but in reality no where near this. Collapse
