I am not one to usually write a review, but being that this is our second visit and it still blew me away, made me want to!! The hotel itself is beautiful and worth a visit, but the staff is what makes this place exceptional. Richard Hess (Front Desk Manager) has trained his staff to go above and beyond, especially with Carly Goldberg! Her feedback, advice, attitude and smile are what every visitor needs. She was spot on with everything she told us and she made our anniversary trip a huge success. Thank you all again for an amazing weekend and we will be back sooner than later!! If you get the chance to come visit, do it!!! Don’t miss out and make sure you find Carly! Collapse

My organization chose this place for a retreat. My wife came along and we were looking forward to a nice relaxing beachfront escape, based on the published images and the "ocean view" reservations that were made .....but not honored. We were initially put into a room that had the scenic view of the back and roof of one of the buildings ....no water in sight. When we challenged the front desk, we were told they were "out of ocean view rooms" so the reservations revert to "run of the house." We were moved to a room on the opposite side of the hotel with a view of the parking garage, the city, and a navigation channel (technically water). I could have bought the concept if at least to of our group who arrived later in the evening did, in fact, get ocean view rooms. Service is pretty lacking. There was no information in the rooms outlining where the meeting rooms were located and every time I tried to call the front desk, the concierge, or hotel services, I was put on indefinite hold (gave up after a few minutes) and was never able to reach a real person. The signage in the hotel is inadequate and actually misleading. The cleaning staff members were obviously used to it as they quickly recognized we were lost and actually knew what room we must be looking for! Banquet food was "just OK". Just when we thought we would get away from all the incompetency to relax by the pool, we were told the area was closing at 4 pm for a private poolside function. GEEZ!! The "issues" never ended. Changed our flight to leave a day early. Collapse

I was lucky enough to accompany my husband on a business short business trip to sunny Boca Raton! Although the weather was delightful, the service at this resort put a cloud over our stay! Starting with check in at the front desk - we asked where we could grab a quick lunch -- "Look on the map" . In the room, there was a daily activity sheet, beach yoga was listed for 8:00 the next day, I wanted to know more specifics (i.e. was sign up required..) - tried calling front desk, concierge (all of the phone buttons seemed to reach the same recorded message )- eventually, I was put thru to the health club - the attendant had no idea (turns out I was put thru to the Boca Resort Health club) -- once again went thru the recorded message - eventually, got thru to the correct health club - left a voice message which was never returned. Another time I asked the concierge if there were bicycle rentals available, "yes, at the Boca Resort" ; I asked " do I have to reserve them " the reply "I don't know - call the Resort" . These were just a few of the examples. My husband and I eventually found it all almost comical! On the bright side, the room had a nice balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean! Collapse

I brought my husband here for his 60th birthday and what a celebration it turned out to be! From our entrance until our exit everything was first class and beyond my expectations. The property is accumulate and the professional staff, valet, front desk, housekeepers and servers, go above and beyond. Richard Hess, Director of Front Office Operations, was particularly helpful and accommodating, he made us feel like the property was all ours! The property has three pools, adult, family and children which was nice. The beach was very pleasant, no sea weed and chairs were set up every morning. The morning buffet and outdoor seating at the SeaGrille was exceptional, lovely views of the pools and ocean. The Beaches Restaurant and Bar had a great vibe with reasonably priced food and drinks. We were there on the weekend and they had live music in the afternoon! We didn't spend much time on the Intercoastal side, but it had great amenities, golf course, marina, waterpark ride and restaurants. Lucca, Italian dining, is well worth a reservation! All in all, an exceptional Waldorf property! I will absolutely be back! Collapse

My wife and almost 2 year old daughter stayed here last May. We had a suite (so our daughter could have a separate room to sleep) on the upper floors. The room was gorgeous with unobstructed views of the ocean. The grounds were pretty and our daughter had a blast on her first beach trip and playing in the ocean and pools and in the sand. The food was good for a resort but nothing to write home about. The shuttle service to the Boca resort was great too because the grounds there are marvelous. Lot's of fun to stroll around in the evening after a day at the beach. For a beach retreat in the states, it's tough to beat. Unfortunately there were two blemishes during our stay: 1) One random day my wife needed to get some sunscreen and the people manning the stand to buy this (and sunglasses and other small items) was totally ignored for a full 5 minutes while the staff talked amongst themselves 10 inches away, looking at her and ignoring her. She eventually had to go to the other side of the pool area and find someone setting up chairs who was very helpful to come clear across the grounds back to the little stand in order to buy something. She was also 8 month pregnant at the time so I wasn't happy to see (I could witness it from the opposite side of the pool which watching my daughter) her have to run around more than necessary. Also, on one trip on the shuttle back from the Boca resort the driver got into some type of road rage altercation with another car. The driver aggressively swerved around the road, passed this car and cut them off on a little tow lane resort road, then pulled over and yelled at the other driver. This is while we were on a shuttle, without seat belts, and with a 20 month old kid sitting in our laps. Not a safe environment. All in all we have very fond memories of this trip and would definitely go back if we were looking for a beach getaway in the Southeast US. But those two blemishes were unfortunate and probably an anomaly. Everyone else there was professional, courteous, and friendly. Collapse
