We booked the Bexleyheath Marriott in January 2018 for a 2 night stay in May. The reason for our visit was so that we could attend a wedding in the area. I was travelling with my wife and 3 year old daughter and we fancied a little treat so went all out and booked the top suite at a cost of £272 for the two nights. This suite was supposed to include parking and Wi-fi. On arrival at the hotel and upon checking in, we were told that the suite we had booked was actually not available and we were being moved to a smaller suite (which turned out to be their entry price 2 double bed room). Parking would now be an additional cost of £7 per night as it’s not inclusive with this room. I am utterly disgusted that for one we were not contacted prior to our arrival, and two, there was no offer of a partial refund or free parking. They did offer complimentary breakfast for our stay, but I do not feel this is adequate considering we have been moved from the top suite to an entry level room and are being charged the same price! This is not what we expect from a 4 star hotel and we will be pursuing this with the management. If you book this hotel yourself, I hope you actually get to stay in the room that you book. For us, the Marriott is a hotel chain we will never use again. Collapse

Paid 179GBP for a suite - spacious, dirty spa bath, no slippers, no hot chocolate, noisy both from the road and next door's TV. Despite booking with breakfast included, this was queried on check-in. Breakfast - not acknowledged, when I asked where to sit I was told "anywhere" - and when we did sit told "I was going to clear that for lunch, but you can sit there if you like". It was 10:20 and breakfast closed at 11. There were 6 staff on and fewer guests present; nevertheless there was no cutlery, bowls, milk, marmalade or bacon left. When I asked for bacon it was delivered with bad grace, undercooked. Collapse

After spending a couple of weeks at the hotel I got a good feel for it and overall I was impressed. The staff on the front desk are very friendly and helpful, so a very good start to the stay. The room itself was nice with a balcony you can go out on, no real view but still nice to get some fresh air and if the weather had been better certainly a nice option to have. The bed itself is comfortable, the bathroom could have been slightly better maintained, broken tiles and just general signs of wear and tear without being fully kept on top of. The house keeping were reasonable altough at times shower gel or coffee wasnt replaced, but overall good enough. The breakfast is good although they need to either have staff more attentive with the coffee and tea or just put it out for people to help themselves as it was consistent that you had to wait and try and get someones attention. The food itself was nice and the eggs made to order excellent. The room service was good although the £12.50 flat rate tray charge is in my opinion a rip off. I have stayed on 5 star hotels in central London that charge far less than this. I get they get a lot of business travellers but the food is not cheaply priced on the menu so to add a £12.50 charge regarless of how much you order leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The spa is reasonable, feels like it could do with some refurbishment, the sauna wasnt working when I went but the hot tub was nice and the pool reasonable as well. The steam room was a bit cold compared to what it should have been. Overall a nice option to have but I wouldnt pick this hotel is spa facilities where high on your list. So overall very welcoming staff, nice bed and reaosnable room makes it a nice hotel if the price is right. Collapse

My daughter was lucky enough to get into the London Marathon so we managed to find this hotel only a few train stops away from the start of the race. We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who told us about the early breakfast especially for those racing. She also arranged for a taxi for the following morning to take us to the station. It was just myself and my daughter staying but my husband was joining us for dinner. The room was lovely and spacious, 2 double beds. Tea & coffee facilities, no fridge but there was a space for one. We had a table booked in the hotel restaurant for 7pm. We were greeted by James I think his name was, maitre d, who proceeded to explain the menu in a somewhat patronising way. A menu is a menu it was straightforward. It wasn’t busy. A fairly large party were leaving which left us, another couple, a single diner, two families with small children and a waiter, 2 waitresses and James. The waitress that served us and couldn’t be more helpful although she did seem to be flitting between the restaurant and bar a lot. My husband had the set 3 course menu and my daughter and I chose from the main menu. The food took ages to arrive considering we were only have a sharing plate of bread to start. Again a very long wait for the mains. The 2 families with young children were also struggling to find something suitable for the children to eat as there did not appear to be a children’s menu. After the main course James eventually came over and took our order for 2 desserts and 3 hot drinks, this was at about 7.50pm. The drinks arrived at 8.10 with no sign of the desserts. He kept walking passed us and seemed aware that we were still waiting. By 8.30 we’d had enough and called him over to cancel them and get the bill, after another 15 mins we got the bill and he had taken the drinks off as goodwill. I would not have liked to have eaten in there if it was busy! Could not fault the food just the speed of it arriving was extremely slow. No one asked if everything was ok either. The next night after the marathon we had room service which was much better. My daughter used the spa facilities on the Monday, having a full body massage which she enjoyed. Over all the stay was very good just not impressed with the service in the restaurant. Collapse

I stayed here a few weeks ago and the location is pretty good, and if you are early enough you can get a parking in the tiny car park in front of the hotel. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. Without exception they were all friendly, efficient and couldn’t do enough. The rooms are spacious and my bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast had a good range with the usual fruit, cereals, pastries and hot selection but eggs were pre-cooked in the warming dishes so tended to a “rubbery” texture - it wasn’t immediately obvious whether eggs could have been ordered freshly cooked. The greatest disappointment was the hotel pool (having the pool was one of the reasons I had selected to stay here). My stay included an overnight on Saturday so I had planned my time to spend some time in the pool but this turned out to be impossible. Half of the pool was cordoned off for swimming lessons, and the rest packed and noisy as apparently it is open to the public. It would be fine if I had chosen to go to a community pool and was paying £3 but, for the price of the hotel stay, it wasn’t up to expected value. Collapse
