Hotel is ideally located for transport around London, with Gloucester Road Tube stop a minute away giving access to the Piccadilly, District and Central lines. The hotel had really friendly staff who looked after us. Breakfast was good, choice of hot and cold food and drinks available. The room itself (828) was basement level which meant it was quiet. The room was slightly small but very well furnished and it was very clean. The bathroom was very clean and quite modern with a nice shower. The plug in the sink wasn't working though. Gym was very small with only 4 pieces of equipment however it was all very modern and clean equipment. Collapse

I had very mixed feelings about this hotel. First of all, brilliant location. 2 minute walk from the tube, with a Starbucks and Burger King round the corner. Ask Italian over the road was very nice too. There was no check in desk when we arrived. You walk into the bar (which was deserted) meaning we wandered around the hotel for ages trying to find a member of staff. We were put in a room right near the bar but heard no noise from there so happy enough. The room was very small with one tiny, very dirty window in the corner. The view was of a side passageway. This meant the room was very dark and we had the lights on at all times. The air con was working well which was a relief as previous reviews on here said it was broken. General things such as a kettle and safe were present. We got back on the Saturday night to find our room hadn't been cleaned. We weren't particularly bothered as it was only one night. It was subsequently cleaned the next day. Didn't feel particularly fussed about it enough to complain as our room was out of the way and could have been forgotten. Mistakes happen. Felt very let down by the included breakfast. No gluten free options available and saw no staff to ask about it. All continental of what we could see which I didn't seem to find stated on the website. Most food was already gone and it was only 9am. Decided on Starbucks for the 3 days we were there. Overall, comfy and a place to sleep with a good location but unfortunately let down otherwise. Decided not to be staying in any Ibis hotels in the future. There are better hotel chains out there. We stayed at this hotel twice for a week while on a trip to London and could not be happier . It’s location was perfect as it is only metres from the underground, restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets, money exchange, banks and chemists. It has a great buffet breakfast and very clean rooms. Some were a little small but very serviceable . The staff were ALL very helpful and friendly at all times and even arranged a breakfast out of hours twice with a good attitude and friendly smile. I spend a night at this hotel and must say I had very mixed feelings. Everything seems a bit overdesigned in a well intended but badly executed manner. Let me proceed step by step: When entering this hotel, looking for a reception desk is futile. Staff will wait for you sitting on the chairs of the lounge area. This might be a good idea in theory, if not all the items staff needs to check a guest in (credit card terminal, luggage tags, room key coding machine...) were spread around various locations in the room. Staff will thus run around, looking at their phones, and searching for things. Not a very good first impression. The first room I was given was a tiny chamber in the attic with an A4 sheet sized window. Everything was very new, tidy and in a somewhat cute London Underground design. However, the AC kept switching itself off, creating a sauna-like atmosphere. I couldn’t expect any sleep in this environment and thus asked for another room. With the hotel apparently completely booked, the only thing they could give me was a room in the cellar, thus no daylight whatsoever (but fake curtains). At least the AC worked, there was some weird drainage smell, however, which didn’t come from the bathroom. The desk was too small to actually work at. At least the breakfast was nice with a comparatively large buffet. Also, staff was generally very kind, but seemed overcharged with the confusing concept of this place. Collapse

Booked this hotel mainly due to it’s location/cost and was not disappointed. Less than 1min walk from Gloucester Rd tube station and surrounded by several shops and a variety of eateries. Yes, the room was small but sufficient for a 3 day stay and newly refurbished. Not a lot of room to hang clothes but if you can take a couple of hangers then that helps. Managed to keep our 2 small suitcases on the floor near the bathroom so able to move around. We weren’t really in the hotel very much as out all day and only coming back to change or sleep. The breakfast area can get a bit busy but if you can get down early then not too bad, sadly the coffee machine was out of action one morning so a bit disappointing. Didn’t use the bar area as too many better bars in the local vicinity. Would I use it again, yes definitely Collapse

Checked in for 4 nights and was allocated a room (spacious and at the front of the building) where the air conditioning wasn’t working, it was hot a stuffy, after speaking with staff we discovered they knew there was no air conditioning for that room currently but put us in there anyway with no mention of it on check in or the website, despite the website offering air conditioned rooms. We were moved to a room at the back of the property (with working air con) that resembled a shoe box. When questioned why we were put in a room with no air conditioning the staff shrugged it off and said they expected it to be working in 2-3 days. Check in and check out are clunky with no reception desk. It is disappointing that there is no bar fridge in the room either. The location of the hotel is fantastic with a 2 minute walk from the Gloucester Road Station and close to many visitable attractions, restaurant and cafes. We enjoyed the quirkiness of the hotel decor but when checking in for a number of days as well as being a Gold Loyalty member and encountering issues just blacken the overall experience. (Photo of the room with no working air con). Collapse
