Located in the heart of South Cheshire The Best Western Crewe Arms Hotel offers the very best for both business users and pleasure seekers. We are conveniently located just a few minutes away from J16 of the M6. The hotels location makes it an ideal base for visiting Nantwich, Sandbach, Stoke on Trent and even the historic city of Chester. It should come as no surprise when we tell you that its located adjacent to Crewe Railway station (and is the world's first Railway hotel, built in 1830)!
For both business and leisure guests, we go all out to make your stay as comfy-cosy as possible. Our job is made easier by the beautiful red brick building we inhabit, which stands out at the entrance to the town and is held in much affection by the many locals and visitors from further afield. Such is the character of our hotel that Queen Victoria and her family stayed here when she travelled from London to Scotland for her annual summer holidays - there's even a tunnel that she used here to avoid walking with the commoners!
The Hotel facilities include 61 Ensuite Bedrooms with complimentary parking and Wi-Fi throughout, along with a comfortable bar and restaurant. Some of the most interesting and exciting attractions are within easy reach, Stapeley Water Gardens, Bridgemere Garden World, Alton Towers, Jodrell Bank, Oulton Park and Chester Racecourse. The world famous potteries including Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and Aynsley all have their factory shops and visitor's centres located only a short drive away.

If travelling by car, upon arriving you must give reception your registration number otherwise "Parking eye" will send you a lovely charge Reception / bar staff very friendly and helpful. The starter (potato and leek soup) was tasty and hot. The main course (chicken in Tarragon sauce) served with vegetables was served hot and very tasty. For a sweet I decided to have sticky toffee pudding with custard. That too was served hot and tasted delicious. Waiters / waitresses ( Not sure how they are addressed now in this politically gone mad society?) But they all deserve a pat on their backs because they were all very polite and couldn't do enough for you. Value for money? Yes. Would I go back? Yes I will. Would I recommend it? Yes I would Collapse

We visited today for a pre Christmas lunch and it was superb. The food was hot and plentiful, and served by a very nice young man who was pleasant and attentive. The service also was superb. Well worth a visit.

Ended up leaving this hotel at 2am because the 'assistant manager' refused to allow my partner in as he thought he recognised his face from 18 months ago for apparently 'smashing up the hotel room' even though he stayed 2 weeks ago Then 8 years before that and has never done anything of the sort. The 'assistant manager' then said it may be a case of mistaken identity after treating my other half like absolute sh!t. He completely ignored the issue and went off to talk to a load of drunks at the other end of the bar where he then turned round and laughed with them at my other half. Ended up waking me up and leaving the hotel at 2am in the morning leaving us stranded for the night. Not staying in an establishment that treat people like this. Would be -5 stars if possible. NEVER STAY HERE Collapse

A two night stay in this hotel & a bit of a mixed bag though, for the most part, positive. I arrived early, well before the advised check in time & had to wait for a couple of hours until my room was ready. I was tired after my early morning flight & dozed off in the armchair at one stage & was woken by a member of the reception team shaking me & then telling me that I wasn’t allowed to do that. The staff on duty that morning, imo, could have done with a little extra training as I heard their full volume conversations, the subject of one of them being their very negative issues with another staff member who didn’t seem to be on duty at the time – please, in future, take that in to a back office (& no, unless I actually went outside of the hotel, I couldn’t avoid overhearing that conversation) Up the lift to my room – a good size, carpet floor, 2 single beds, sofa bed, dresser, 2 chairs, smoke alarm, wardrobe, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, mirror, large tv, luggage rack, plenty of electrical sockets, tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits. Room temperature was perfect with a radiator which was not turned on. A window gave enough natural light & I had no issues with noise from inside of the hotel. Unfortunately, I couldn’t say the same about noise from outside of the hotel as I heard the trains & the P.A announcements from the station. My bathroom was ok, clean & bright with tiled floor & walls. With a bath, bath/shower screen, easy to control fixed head shower with good pressure & plenty of hot water but no separate handset for just washing your hair. A large mirror, towel radiator, ceiling vent, plenty of towels & a wall mounted soap dispenser. On my first morning I went down for breakfast at 0945 & it was far from busy but the hot food was, at best, just lukewarm. Next morning I went down at 0745 & again, it wasn’t busy but, the food temps were perfect. A nice variety with a gluten free selection, full fry, toast, croissants, cereals, ham slices, cheese, yoghurts, pastries, fresh whole fruits – grapes, apples, oranges & pears - prunes, grapefruit segments, fruit salad, teas, coffees, apple juice, orange juice & tropical fruit juice. On both mornings the restaurant staff were excellent, very friendly, attentive & exceptionally helpful. Complimentary Wifi was very good, easy to connect to, fast & consistent. Checking out was very quick & friendly, not the same staff on duty as when I checked in. The hotel is really well located if being near the train station is a priority (as it was for me). I’d stay again as I quite liked the hotel even after my experience on arrival & the noise issues with my room. Collapse

We booked this hotel as we wanted to travel there by train and then use the train services from Crewe. We went up there by rail first to 'check it out' as we had seen an excellent offer and were very impressed with the hotel so booked it for four nights, which we extended to five while we were there. We were given an upgrade to a room at the back overlooking the car park and the railway and to our surprise, we heard no noise from the railway. The bed was very comfortable with white linen and both this and the bathroom were cleaned to a high standard. There was a radiator in the bathroom and bedroom and our room was warm and just the right temperature. We had our Labrador dog with us and they made him very welcome. We could sit with him in the bar and also have meals there with him. Breakfast was very good, with so many choices and we found the cooked food always hot. We also had a meal in the evening, which was equally good. Two staff who were very pleasant and welcoming were Amy and Alex in Reception. Adam Mike and Sharnie were in the restaurant and they had a helpful employee who worked in the evening. We are sorry if we have missed anyone out, but all seemed pleased to help and make our stay pleasant. We would return again as the hotel is very convenient being so close to the Station, and we visited Windermere in the Lake District one day, Morecambe, Chester and Llandudno. It does appear to be much more expensive at the moment, so we are watching ! Collapse
