Stayed here whilst on a stag do, there was nothing great about the accommodation but there was nothing massively wrong with it either. The bed was comfy enough, the shower was hot, the room was pretty clean. I read a review from someone who said he was a member of the Armed Forces and he had never stayed anywhere this bad before. He must have been in the RAF as I have spent 25 years in the forces and have regularly stayed in far worse accommodation than this. The remainder of the stag do was the same and were pretty happy with the accommodation for the price. Collapse

I stayed at berties lodges this Saturday (22/09/2018) for a friends stag do which I organised. The phone call I made to book the hotel was unpleasant as the woman was very patronising, normally I would've hung up and went elsewhere but it was the only place available. Once I arrived we were shown to our room after paying a £30 holding deposit each. The room was very basic but I knew that so wasn't bothered, however I do expect a level of cleanliness, dirty sheets, mould in the shower and a long black hair in the bunk above me. I complained to the staff as we were heading out for drinks and they said they'll deal with it. The day after when we went to check out they sent someone up to check the room, damage etc... As we waited to collect our deposit back the man at reception said there was cigarette ash on the window sill and had a report from the night porter said someone was smoking out the window, at this point we said non of us are smokers and that and they obviously haven't cleaned properly beforehand, at this point they said it's a £50 fine, I said get the manager to which point he walked off in a strop, came back 2 mins later and said she agrees with him and was basically asked to leave. Absolutely disgusted with their manors and lack of concern for customers. Avoid like the plague!!! Collapse

We stayed in this place for 2 nights. When we arrived there was no one at reception and we had to enter the lodge through the (much nicer) hotel next door. Once you step into the lodge it's like a ghost movie, because the second you enter through the doors it's like 10 degrees colder. When we got to our room there were 3 pidgeons inside our room and there was bird droppings everywhere. (The man at reception in the hotel next door did take really good care of it and we got a different room) The hallway carpets were stained and it felt like we were the only ones there. I guess you can't expect too much for the price you pay, but making it look like the place is actually looked after would be nice! That being said, the location was really great and the view was amazing. Collapse

Well... we stayed for 1 night, myself, my partner and 2 friends in one room with 2 bunk beds. Firstly, the location is actually pretty good its right in the middle with access to all sorts of food and drink options. Parking is avaliable either side of the hostel and costs £12.00 for 24 hours (can pay cash/card). The check-in is odd... you have to go next door into a grand hotel to grab your key and leave a CASH BOND of £30 per person which you get back if you check out by 10:30am and you haven't trashed your already trash room. The hostel is shamefully tired. Absoulety ruined the building by leaving it to diminish into a dirty mess. Its fairly large but if you follow the A4 word printed signs to your room you should find it. Our room was dirty as in walls were stained, carpet we wouldn't take our shoes off. The bunk beds were so close together it was impossible to climb up without hurting yourself, the beds are also worryingly wobbly! Shower didn't drain although the power and temperature were fine. Lastly, the noise in this place is LOUD. Attached to a nightclub and outside our window were large air conditioning units that rumbled throughout the night. All in all its such a shame they've let this place become such a dump. Collapse
