Hi all, I'm writing this with a nice cuppa in hand. We spent 11 nights at Bellevue Club. We arrived the only four getting off the coach (worried faces by all after reading the reviews). We were given FREDRA Block 2 room 308. . We walked for ages with cases to the end of the hotel complex to our room. Getting inside it was basic but clean (very old but honestly I'm a clean freak so this wasnt too bad). Bed room had twin beds and living room had a guest bed and a sofa bed dining table and very small but basic kitchen. kettle provided and toaster and hob. plates cups etc too. fridge (which was a godsend). The hotel is split into lots of different areas, the posh blocks as i call them were the Leda and Minerva blocks, only a few have air con but you can hire fans from either reception (there are two) one on the main road and one in Minerva 2. Staff are quite helpful but not very happy not many smile!. The hotel complex is as said before very large and lot of walking involved in getting anywhere. Fredra block was the furthest away from the reception , food restaurant and entertainment but in a way a godsend as it was quiet. Pools yes there 8 but hearing quite a few people moaning about not getting Sun beds made me happy we were in the old block as our pool was quieter and we always managed to get a sunbed (put towels down before 8am). Mosquitoes are everywhere but not just this complex we went into Alcudia town and lots of people were bitten. Forget the Citronella we bought some Mosi stuff from the supermarket (photo included) brilliant we went from being bitten all the time to the odd one or two. Shops on site are more expensive than the ones just outside the complex buy stuff from there. Pools wise ours was clean and tidy the only mess around the pool was from the lazy people not throwing away cups etc. Pool bar opens at 10.30am and serves slush puppies , plenty of water available. but if you want a hot drink they serve it in plastic cups! burning fingers not a good look. Pools are full of Lilos so forget trying to swim we just gave up and joined in a bought some!. Food. the main restaurant gets very busy if you go down later for meals, breakfast 8am is nice and quiet and tables available after 9 good luck on finding a table, and the same for evening meals we went 8.15pm and stood around waiting for tables (gave up after 15 mins and went out for tea) learnt the lesson go earlier. Food itself is very basic but they do offer enough for kids and adults to get by. Breakfast bacon , sausages ,eggs, breads, continental too, this was the best meals of the day for us. Lunch and dinner are very similar , there was also pizza and pasta for the kids. meat stewy dishes, chips, salads , paella's so enough to get by, puddings ice creams cakes, so enough to fill you up. Snack bars we finally found them on the last day one in Leda block and one in Minerva block. All i say about the food is be careful with the meat just check its cooked! Complex itself , the hotel is next to the lake and canal makes it very pretty but can be smelly!. there is a boat next the restaurant that you can grab to take you to the beach but 14 euros for 2 adults and 2 teens return is quite excessive as it literally takes you across the lake and then you get off and walk across two roads to get to the beach. We walked round to it after paying that price. Beach is beautiful , inflatables in the sea too. to get to the beach just walk out of the hotel into the town keep going straight and the beach is about 10 minutes to walk ish. Mini golf onsite is good, 5 euros each but big course, plenty of Mosi repellent needed for this though. Entertainment - large area geared for kids their entertainment goes on for hours, adult stuff comes on at 10pm till 11.30 pm and then its not the best only one good act the times we were there. Grumpy barmen too. We ate out a couple of times just to give the taste buds a tingle, good indian in town Maharaja walk into town head to the river bridge and its down on the left hand side, also good chinese all you can eat buffet in town on the right hand side. Morocco Bar onsite if good if you want to cool down , pool tables and machines for kids but be prepared to spend a lot of money. funfair on site for little ones not massive but ok for a hour or so. we went prepared for absolutely awful but it wasnt that bad. if you want a cheaper family holiday this is ok. the sun is shining the pools are clean, food ok, drinks ok. then go with an open mind and don't expect 5 star i would say 2 star for this hotel. Lastly you have to check out at 12 midday from your room if you flight is later they offer a shower room and towels (the shower is one shower in each room queues are massive and they ran out of towels). so shower early. We enjoyed the family break but the hotel needs to provide air con as it was just too hot to sleep and most people were walking around like zombies due to lack of sleep and this affected the atmosphere of the complex as everyone was moody. Lastly don't expect a cuppa at lunchtime or evening time in the restaurant as they tun the machines off , take your coffee and tea with you . one more maid service is not every day a few times a week, but after reading reviews we just collared the maids and changed the towels ourself. I have stayed at numerous resorts with Thomson from Sensatori to 3 star over the years. I have always had very positive reviews to give and had very good experiences. I do not even know how to start with the Bellevue Minerva. My 15 year old daughter and I flew in on Wednesday 16th August looking forward to a girly week of lazing by the pool, reading, listening to music and enjoying the sunshine, whilst not having to worry about a thing as it was all inclusive. Should have been fab especially with a price tag of £2000. Flight was early - great! Transfer fine. On arrival there were numerous people crying in reception and a queue for complaints. Not a good start. We checked in at reception and were subsequently charged £34 euro for a safe (good idea as so many people were having things stolen), £20 euro for wifi- a 15 year old girl can not survive without. If we had wanted TV 10 Euro and Hairdryer 10 Euro. We got to the room managing to avoid the wet paint only to discover it looked nothing like the proposed images on the website. It had been given a lick of paint but was that was as far as the refurbishment had got. It was clean on arrival but no amount of cilit bang could have got rid of the encrusted grout, broken tiles and grime and rust that was there. Bearing in mind we were staying in one of the top refurbished rooms. Anyway- glorious sunshine, we changed and headed off to sunbathe by the pool. Luckily we had brought our own towels for sunbathing as the hotel with 8 pools does not provide them. We needn't have bothered as there were absolutely no free sun loungers. Those who wish to have an overcrowded lounger will need to be up by about 6.30am to reserve them. There are no where near enough sunbeds or parasols for the volume of people staying there. A large number of guests had resorted to buying lilos and sunbathing on the grass. We decided not to do so due to the sewage stench, and fly infestation by the man made river. I called my husband in the UK in floods of tears who tried to sort things out from the UK- bad phone signal at resort. I was called by Anna from Thomson UK who was extremely rude to me and left me even more upset. My daughter recorded my half of the conversation. Apparently providing grass to sunbathe on is perfectly acceptable and you cannot expect a TV on holiday. I then found Mary the rep at the hotel and requested to change hotels. She was lovely, came up to the room and agreed it was not great, but at least it had a sea view and not a view of the bins. She said it was impossible to move us as all the Thomson hotels in Mallorca were fully booked but said to look to move to a less maintenance issue room in the morning. The food is rancid. I could go on for pages with this but I will stop there. We ate crisps and drinks from the local Spar for the time we stayed. There are some lovely local restaurants, but at your own expense- we had our lunch the next day at one. The bed was comfy, but the bed linen(if u could call it that) was disgusting. our sheets were stained and had cigarette burns in them. We saw Safari, the Thomson rep the following morning, who in fairness deserves a medal for the amount of complaints that she was having to deal with. She reiterated that there was no where to move us to but changed our room from 525 to 521. Broken toilet and ants. We were lucky to have someone so lovely as Safari to deal with as another UK company did not even have any reps to deal with the complaints. Needless to say- diabolical food and room and nowhere to sunbathe ( on a lounger) we booked a flight home at our expense with BA that evening. We had a holi"day" from Hellvue. Collapse

We stayed in Fedra 3 with our 2 boys (9th - 16th August) and had a great stay. The site is huge, with pools, supermarkets and bars at each block. It's ideally situated for the town and beach, approximately 15 minute walk through the town, although bus stops/horse and cart/mini train were near reception if you didn't want to walk in the heat! Our apartment was slightly dated but plenty big enough for the 4 of us, with a lovely big balcony overlooking the pool and the lake. Although there was no air con, the heat was manageable by keeping the door/window open with the curtains drawn. The kitchen could have done with an oven or microwave but we managed without, and meals out at the local bar were cheap enough! Our room was cleaned 3 times during our stay, with clean towels and bedding each time. Having read previous reviews we were dreading our stay but were pleasantly surprised and thought the site was great! Only criticism is the noise from the go karts which goes on till past midnight and the fact that people are too lazy to clear up after themselves at the pool! Every night there were towels, lilos, rubber rings, rubbish and drinks left by the sun loungers - the rubbish and drinks are what cause the problems with the wasps!! Every night someone came around clearing up - personally I would have thrown everything in the bin ... that would soon stop them leaving everything there! We would definitely go back again :) Collapse

Just got back from a week at Bellevue Bonita which we booked through Jet 2. After seeing bad reviews were very sceptical and worried about air con. We rang Jet 2 and upgraded our apartments to air con ones. Best advice I could give anyone staying. We stayed in Leda 1 and the apartments were the best we have stayed in. Fully refurbed so if you can request Leda 1 block I would recommend that. Hotel staff were very friendly and very informative. The pool area was busy but its what you expect in August. Pool was cleaned everynight as our apartment faced the pool and staff were out till late at night cleaning with head torches on. Only complaint about pool area was rubbish. This was down to lazy people not tidying up after theirselves when there were plenty of bins. You have to be up early to get sunbeds. Anytime after 7:30 am you will struggle to find sunbeds. Security did come round between 8am & 9am with a trolley and remove towels if you had left your sunbeds so we did breakfast in shifts. Tip for sunbeds try and get them nearer the roadside as the sun stayed on them till 7 pm Jet 2 have there own restaurant in Leda 3 which we never queued for a table. Breakfast and lunch were lovely but evening meals were hit and miss but there was always something to find to eat. Mosquitos werent as bad as I thought they were going to be but we went prepared with sprays, wristbands and plug ins for the rooms I would definately recommend this hotel and dont rely on all the negative comments. We had a fab hols Collapse
