stayed on this hotel. It was grand, you could pick out a few faults if you really wanted to. Rooms were grand, very spacious. Food was plenty full, but eat in the restaurant for lunch rather the pool side one as there is a better selection. If you like a variety if food all inclusive is the way to go but if i was going again i think i would go half board as it was nice to go out somewhere different to eat. Great for families and loads of entertainment for them. Few other issues but i would not like to mention them on this as i wouldn't like to come across that i was accusing anyone of something. Lifts were not working all the time, paint gone off parts of the pool and our aircon was leaking. These are all little things, but overall it was nice.great location, few mins walk into centre and you call walk down along the promenade into puerto del carmen 7k, or 5 mins in a taxi. We also had to pay extra for a safe and a fridge. Didnt really need the fridge but it was nice to have some cold water in it as it was very warm. you would imagine that a 4* hotel would offer these services without any extra charge. Rooms could do with lick of paint here and there and presses replaced Few tips> Do not leave any money, even if its only change in your room, get to pool early if you want to get a sun lounger, do not put any clothes in press until you make sure your aircon is working properly. You need to book into some of the restaurants, we didnt try them but we also were never told this. Collapse
Fantastic, brilliant, Defoe worth a visit.

Arrived back today 14/8/17. After reading the reviews I was very apprehensive about what we would find when we arrived, but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful they went out of their way to make sure you were happy, the hotel is massive with indoor and outdoor pool tables, air hockey, table tennis and other games. I am coeliac and the chefs in the main resturant catered for me, cooked me gf pizzas, pasta and sauce they provided gf bread, cereal, snacks and desserts. I have never eaten so much on an all inclusive holiday. You can hire towels for €10 each deposit, lots of cleaners around, rooms are done everyday, maintance staff around the gardens and grounds pools are cleaned everyday and the animation time are fantastic. Absolutely fantastic time. If I had to pick a negative it would be the superior rooms were a tad on the small side for a family but as you only spend very limited time in there is was ok. I would definately go back again in a heart beat. North family room 1073 xx Collapse
If you are a family then this is a good choice

I returned yesterday from a 2 week holiday at this hotel with my wife and two sons aged 10 and 6 and we loved it. I always think it would be better to give some context to the type of interests, background of the reviewer so that like minded people can relate. I am a Sales Director of a medium sized business and my wife is a stay at home mum, we are both in our mid forties and we love holidays, eating out, music and exercise, we don't just want to drink from dawn till dusk just because it's available on holiday and equally, despite putting on a good 5 pounds in the last two weeks, we limit or children to a sensible diet rather than give them diabetes in the future. I say this as there is an absolute abundance of food and alcohol available right across this hotel to satisfy the hungriest family in the world. The pool bar serves beer for free from 10am until 7 so if getting lashed in front of your kids is your thing, I can't see how there is the issue that some reviews portray. The food at the buffet restaurant is plentiful, varied and of a good quality and has something for everyone, all served by hard working and helpful happy staff. We ate out a few nights just as we wanted a change of scenery and their are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants a few hundred yards from the hotel in the commercial area. The hotel communal areas are clean and functional but in the UK they would be a 3 star however I think that the price we paid was in line with what we got. The hotel will definitely need updating shortly if it is to continue offering value for the long term and if you want more luxury then it would be more like £6k in school times rather than the £4K or so we paid. The pools are great, clean and there was never a shortage of beds despite the reserving habit that everybody, including ourselves seem to adopt nowadays with decent activities and entertainment if you wanted to get involved The location next to the airport was never a problem and you can walk a kilometre or so to actually watch the planes land and take off-we hired bikes and did this one day and it was good fun and not as geeky as you would think. The beach nearby is awesome and as mentioned previously matagorda is a lovely little spot with lots of bars and restaurants etc. There are plenty of places to book trips and Flintstones bike hire had fantastically helpful staff to help select any excursion you fancy. We did the volcano tour, Atlantic adventure and water park and all made great memories. The evening entertainment is average but the staff put so much effort in you have to commend them and I've seen worse. It's all a bit butlins but all kid friendly venues will be. The local spirits are weak but if you are that bothered a branded rum for a treat was 5 euros and was at least a triple measure. The kids mascot Tapi was good fun and the staff always tried to make you have a good time. There are a couple of negatives that are a problem unfortunately and if there was a 3.75 out of 5 option I would have given that score. The standard room we were allocated on arrival was hideous. Think Fawlty towers but more dated! I appreciate there is a refurb programme taking place but this hotel cannot continue to bill itself as even a 3 star on the back of the old rooms. I paid £224 to upgrade to a superior room as I couldn't have enjoyed my holiday staying in the chintzy hovel that we had been given. If you can book a superior room (clean, modern but still not special at all...like a premier inn at home) then spend the money. I think on the beach need to take some responsibility for this as the pictures look fine on their website when in reality the rooms have long had their day. The other things are the wi-if is useless and you have to pay 20 euros per week and having to pay for a room safe in 2017 is frankly scandalou. On the whole though, if you book a decent room, are able to put down your technology for a week or two and take this for what it is, a family hotel in a beautiful place then it's great. If you aren't a kid friendly person or are looking for a romantic spa break, look elsewhere The gym equipment was probabl the same as Daley Thomson used and this is family central with lots of kids at all angles. We loved most of it! Collapse

Me and my partner visited in October 2016 (only just joined Trip Advisor, so only just writing the review). Hotel was amazing, we couldn't believe how big it was when we first got there! All staff are extremely friendly, especially the bar staff... By day 2 there was a couple of them that would start making our drinks just as we approached the bar, we didn't even have to tell them... Very friendly and you walk away with a smile on your face! Most drinks were great too! We weren't too fond of all inclusive wine as it just tasted really cheap, but we weren't fussed about that as the vodka was great and San Miguel even better!! Food most days was good, with a variety of pretty much everything! The restaurant by the pool was my favourite, one day they even had a BBQ and the meat was amazing.. The entertainment was ok in the main bar, it was where we started our night and then usually headed out around 10ish. Not great for young couples like us, but perfect for families with children! Only one night out of our week they had entertainment on outside at the pool bar in the evening, which was a shame as it was perfect! Not sure if was because we went out of season? Hotel was very clean, spotless everywhere and our room was cleaned every single day! We paid for the fridge and the safe in our room, which was totally worth it!! We also got a free day in spa because we paid for these, which we took advantage of when it rained one morning (only time it rained) I wasn't crazy about it but my partner Craig absolutely loved it!! We loved it here at the Beatriz Playa and no doubt we'd stay here again in the future! Collapse
