We had visited here before and was thoroughly impressed. This time just a slight disappointment but not enough to stop us coming back. Service was fantastic. The cost was very good. The food was lovely but one of the cakes was rock hard. I think this was just a mistake rather than what it was supposed to be. I didn't complain at the time as I was on a date and didn't want to ruin our lovely time. We will be back for another afternoon tea as no one does one as nice as this. Collapse

My partner bought us a night away here for my birthday as we were spending the day at Yorkshire sculpture park and being only 10 minutes away it was perfect. The room was very clean and had everything we could need (and a bottle of prisecco that was part of the deal). We had a 3 course meal on the evening- I had cod to start, fillet steak for main and banoffe for desert. Each course was really nice and the steak was cooked to perfe tion (see photos) only cons - The decor could do with some modernisation and the bath was quite small bit Collapse

I went for afternoon tea with my husband. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were given a table by the window and the chairs had been arranged so that we were facing out, looking over the grounds. We had a choice of sandwiches and the four fillings we chose were very tasty. The sherry trifle was well presented. Unfortunately the experience was let down by the scones and cakes. The scones were tough and not a pleasant texture. There were three different cakes. Ginger cake with marmalade filling - the sponge was dry. Fruit tarts - these were presented as half a tart, looked unfinished and would have been better served warm. Cheesecake - the flavour was rum and raisin (I felt this was a strange flavour to offer). When I asked for an alternative as I didn’t like rum we were given a replacement of another half of a tart. We did have a pleasant time but I was disappointed by half of the food and we are unlikely to return. Collapse

As usual another lovely stay at bagden hall . It never fails to dissapoint . Was upgraded rooms free of charge which was a lovely surprise as it was a lovely room and lovely view. Such a lovely character full place to stay and every member of staff are an absolute delight . Evening meal was delicious although afternoon tea was a little bland for myself due to being gluten free . Maybe a change of bread /cakes would be beneficial as on a previous visit or was perfect, Would definitely recommend anyone to stay Collapse
