Brought my two kids for an overnight as an Easter treat. While the pool is great as it is huge, there's a kiddie pool and a hot tub, the rooms are nothing fancy as is the rest of the hotel. The view was nothing to be excited over but what made me mad the most is the fact that guests had to pay $20 to park in their lot! That is not advertised. We chose this hotel because of the price but when you add the $20, we could have gone to a fancier spot. Collapse

Went for Easter weekend, got a good rate from Hot Wire. Check in was easy and parking was fine. Parking area was a little small but we did not have a problem getting a spot all weekend. Location is okay if you don't mind a short 20-30 min walk to the waterfront. Keep in mind its all uphill on the way back. Not many restaurants nearby but more than enough within that 20 min walk. On site restaurant is very nice, some items are a bit pricey but there is a good selection. Room was comfortable enough for 3 nights. Bed was a bit soft so not sure how comfy it would be for a longer stay. Pool area is nice, too bad its mostly all deep end, but temperature was perfect and no harsh chlorine smell. By the way both elevators are running and quite fast I may add. There is lots of ambulance traffic along Robie St but could barely hear them in the room. We would consider this place again with a good rate. Collapse

The venue was very nice and the entertainment was excellent. The hotel and it's staff left a bit to be desired. What was provided and what was advertised on the ticket were 2 very different things. The room was nice but offered no means of getting fresh air. The windows did not open and there was no fan in the bathroom. The restaurant offers a great menu, the service is excellent and the food quite good. Collapse

I rented a double queen bed room for myself ,my wife and my 3 children. The book in was pleasent and the desk staff were great. The first hiccup was at the time there were renovations going on in hotel and on elevator. No where on their site when renting did it state this. That to me is strike one.Inconvenient and one crowded busy elevator in such a large hotel is crazy. We made it to our room and at first glance it was up to par and relatively clean. When I rent a hotel or exchange moneys for goods first off I want the cleansliness to be just as good as home if not better.Strike 2. As we settled in our room with a mediocre view of Halifax Emera Oval and a really good view of the parkade across the road. This is a pet friendly hotel so when I travel with mans best friend I always chose this location. My family had settled in to the room and we had a bite to eat..turned on the tv and relaxed. After digesting and just vegging out with the kids it was time to get showered and cleaned up. THE TUB WAS STAINED AND FILTHY. I Literally wasnt putting my kids in the tub so I scrubbed it myself and filled them a bath. After further inspection of the bathroom there were several things that were broken, dirty or unsafe. This was enough for me.Strike 3.I proceeded to put the kids to bed and I then was closing the curtains do the light was less and no distraction when I did do my hand came to a sharp point on the window valance and scraped my hand /poked in a bit.I immediately retreived my hand to view several finishing nails attached to a piece of wood.I was in awe that this could have just seriously injured myself or previous customers.I went to bed unsettled and dissapointed that I would have to bring all these items to attention. In the morning we proceeded to check out and get our free breakfast coupon with the room which they had forgotten when signing in and to add to insult tried to charge me 24$ a night parking fee.Now I know some hotels and staff have bad days but this was a complete dud. There was only one staff member who shined through all of it and even the gm and the operations manager didnt offer compensation.I was speechless.I provided my room# pictures of everything and a list of the problems and faults and was railroaded by the gentleman in charge.I will never return to this hotel until I am compensated or acknowledged for my complaints. To make a ling story short I would avoid this chain and the IMP group chain of hotels because the simple dont ensure your safety or if you were to be injured or compensated they would most likely deny your claims and treat you as invaluable. THIS HOTEL GETS A BIG THUMBS DOWN Collapse

We had a student conference here and it went without a hitch so kudos to Laura and the banquet staff. Pricey but typical for a hotel venue the lunch was top notch! Everything ran on time and it seemed seamless as the staff were in the background making it all happen. My colleague and I had a delightful lunch the day before in the restaurant. I would eat there again, perhaps for dinner. Well done! Collapse
