My stay at this cozy hotel was pleasant; offering good value for accommodation that's less than a 10minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Steet. The hotel is centrally located and easily accessible by the use of the underground. The hotel has 5 floors, excluding the ground and lower ground level (on which the breakfast hall is housed). All floors (with the exception of the lower ground floor) is accessible by the elevator; so if you have mobility issues getting down to the breakfast hall might be a bit of a challenge. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished. Levels 3-5 and lower ground have been renovated. Upgrades to the remaining levels are planned. Refurbished rooms are marketed as "superior" rooms on booking websites whilst rooms on levels that haven't been updated are marketed as standard rooms. The room I stayed in was a superior triple room which is large enough to comfortably sleep 3 adults. It had a queen bed and a sleeper couch. The hotel isn't able to add an additional full sized single bed (as per their policies) into the room despite there being adequate space to do so. Refurbished rooms are spacious and neatly furnished with a modern bathroom that has a walk-in shower, basin and toilet. Rooms have heating units but are not equipped with air-conditioners. The hotel although centrally located is within a quieter part of Mayfair allowing for an escape from the buzz of Oxford Circus while at the same time allowing you to be close enough to the shopping district. As noted in other reviews, an underground line passes beneath the hotel but the trains pass by very quickly. Passage of these trains does cause gentle turbulence within the hotel but this very short lived and isn't that loud at all (if possible request a room on the 4th or 5th floor to get as far away from the underground as possible). The service on that line seems to stop at midnight and resume at 5am. Other reviewers made mention of poor insulation between rooms such that one is able to hear people talking within adjacent rooms. During my stay in a room on the newly refurbished 4th floor I did not experience any sound insulation issues aside from hearing the odd cries of a child on 2 occasions during my 3 night stay. I found the breakfast spread to be more than sufficient: an adequate selection of pastries; breads; cereals; yogurt; jam; marmalade; teas; various caffeine options; juice; milk; canned fruit to name a few. The only shortfall regarding breakfast is that you are not able to request kitchen staff to prepare eggs/ scrambled eggs/ omelettes for you; instead you are limited to hard boiled eggs that, as other reviews have stated, are cold. My suggestion to Astor Court Hotel would be to place a bay marine in the breakfast hall so as to keep the eggs warm; if they were to do this I think a lot of fellow reviewers would find it hard to fault their breakfast provision. All in all I must say that I enjoyed my stay at this establishment and would reside their again on future trips to London. Collapse

The hotel was a let down from how the website portrays the hotel. The reception was smart, clean and well presented. The room however was not good in my opinion. As you walked into the room above the door was a fire exit light and sign! The light is bright and it reflected off the glass cabinet and shines into the room and lights it up, which kept me awake!! The bathroom without a toilet as its a separate room for the toilet, was weird but OK. The shower curtain was useless as the water would seep through which in turn soaked the floor, it was high on the wall so the power would send the water to the other side of room and there was a lip from the end of bath to where the tiles were so had a mini swimming pool, so then the water could only drain away onto the floor! The bed was not comfortable and it was 2 singles pushed together to form a double so if you like to cuddle up, it was challenging as the beds would part. The duvet was too heavy so I could not settle either with being hot or cold depending on when I had the duvet on or not. There were no plug sockets by the bed, we had to put the kettle on the floor. The toilet was cramped. I could not shut the door as the door would hit you in the face when sat on the toilet! To be fair the receptionist did offer me another room, but it was exactly the same as what I had so it was pointless moving!! It says you get a continental breakfast, a choice of 3 cereals, 2 pieces of fruit, 2 different meats a a single choice of cheese does not make a good continental breakfast!! Overall for the price the location is very good, but the room was a disaster and I wouldn't recommend!! Collapse

Really dissatisfied with this hotel from start to finish. Complained as soon as I arrived as the room was dirty and smelled. The receptionist looked offended but from my photos you can tell the state of the bathroom. I wasn’t offered any alternative and had to stay in the room. Very tired and dated hotel with a poor selection of food for breakfast. The only good thing is the location. We paid nearly £600 for two nights in two rooms and would have expected more regardless of the location. Collapse

Went with a work colleague for an overnight stay. Arrived late evening and the staff were lovely and welcoming. We were upgraded from a standard twin to a superior. The room was lovely and no issues but I would have preferred to have a gap between the twin beds rather than having them so close together. The bathroom facilities were excellent. It took a few moments to work out that the odd rumbling noise we could hear (on the 5th floor) was the underground but in all honesty it did settle and no problem. Breakfast was continental and ok - nothing wild and exciting but perfectly adquate. The overall decor was imaculate and i noted that there is a lot of refurbishment going on. The situation was perfect for our conference the following day. I would stay here again. Collapse
