We stayed this past weekend, and were thrilled with the exceptional customer service this hotel delivers. From the valet (free of charge) to the front desk staff, all were enthusiastic and made us feel very welcome. Our request to hold our luggage at the desk while we waited to check in was really nice, and we waited in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the views while our room was being prepared. Our goal was to enjoy the Santa Monica pier, but we were a little nervous about the traffic and parking we would encounter. This concern quickly dissapated when the staff called an Uber for us. The ride was enjoyable, we didn't have to worry about finding parking, and Uber billed our hotel room directly. Not to mention it was only a $12 ride. Our room was comfortable and clean. The only thing I would mention is the tub faucet had a slight leak and we could hear some dripping. Our view of Bel Air was beautiful, and we found the room to be just big enough for our family of three. One note is the freeway noise, but the hotel seems well designed, and it didn't bother us. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for the customer service, the location and the welcoming atmosphere. Collapse

We booked a reservation on Booking.com where we also requested an early check in because our flight landed at LAX at 9:30. We arrived at Hotel Angeleno around 11:30 and tried to check in when we were greeted by a very "pleasant" front desk agent, (insert sarcasam). This agent, whose name escapes me at the moment, promptly told us that our room wasn't ready since check in is not until 3:00. We told him about our early check in request but that didn't matter. They didn't have anything available. He did, however, offer to keep our bags behind the desk until 3:00 in case we wanted to get something to eat. We gave him the bags and went upstairs to the West Restaurant, more on that in my next review but if you ever go to Hotel Angeleno, it's definitely a go to! Anywho, after spending an hour and a half at West, we check back with the front desk because a room was sure to be ready right????? Wrong! The agent told us again, no rooms were available as it wasn't 3:00 yet. We sat in the lounge for about 10 minutes. During that time, "Sunshine" went to lunch and was replaced by another agent. I went to the desk and asked her if she had an estimate as to when our room would be ready. I gave her my name, she pulled up our reservation and told us, "our room was ready at 12:00". After I explained our ordeal with the other agent, she was very apologetic and quickly checked us in so we could be on our way. Once we got to our room, I quickly checked out the bed because by then, I had been up for over 24 hours. That BED!!!! It was like sleeping on a cloud! The view from my room was good. We overlooked the highway but the views of the mountains were amazing. Despite that one hiccup, I will definitely visit Hotel Angeleno again. Collapse

Finding a reasonably priced, good accommodation in central Los Angeles can be a challenge, but Hotel Angeleno offers all this, and more. Although there is nothing glamorous about the location (right next to the highway), it is actually very strategic - a few minutes to Santa Monica beach, a hop to the Getty Center, and practically across from the UCLA and the Bel Air district. We had 2 rooms adjacent to each other (with a connecting door). They were clean and simply decorated, so was the bathroom with a much welcomed, strong shower water pressure. Facility-wise, the ground floor has a small swimming pool and a tiny gym, whereas the top floor has the restaurant/bar with a scenic view of the surroundings. Hotel Angeleno differentiates itself with a no-tipping policy, which for us (overseas tourists) is quite convenient. But this doesn't mean that their standard of service is below average. In fact, all the staff was helpful and polite during our stay. Even the valet parking fee was already included in our room rate. We were in San Francisco the night before and cheap parking there could only be dreamed of. They also have a partnership with Uber, which is a great way to go around if you don't bring your own car. This is my second visit to Hotel Angeleno. Five years ago I had the pleasure and it was as good as the last visit. The room is clean and modern. The hotel is next to a freeway but it actually was perfect for jumping onto Sunset boulevard going to Santa Monica or heading to Beverley hill. It's location allowed us to avoid many traffic delays. The wine offered in the hotel lobby , the beautiful pool and fireplace outside plus the valet parking makes this experience positive. I recommend it highly and hope to be able to return sometime soon. Collapse
