Stayed three nights over Presidents Day weekend with my family of four and had a very nice time. I was a little worried before we arrived based on some of the negative reviews I saw here but our experience was great. The beds were very comfortable, the shower was fantastic, and our room was quiet. We also enjoyed the free drinks (water, soda, juice) in the mini bar and the free drinks in the lobby (coffee, tea all day and wine from 6-7). They also have little muffins or croissants in the lobby at breakfast and chocolate chip cookies in the evening. I found the staff at reception to be very friendly and our room was cleaned nicely each day. I booked our room a couple of months ago when the rate was under $150 night which to me is a bargain for such a comfortable hotel. Collapse

I never make a habit of writing poor reviews but I am so incensed right now that I hope to help other travelers avoid the loss of time and energy I've experienced at the Andaz on Wall Street. I checked into my room yesterday at 4pm. Once I settled in for the night, I realized my room smelled like the cologne of the previous tenant. Granted, I have a sensitive nose, but it was strong enough to overpower the smell of my pad thai delivery. At this point, it's midnight and after some investigation, I conclude that it's not the sheets but perhaps the rug or upholstery of the chairs in the room. In which case, I decide to try to sleep because I don't want to move my things in the middle of the night and would rather deal with it the morning. All night, I sleep with a pillow over my nose trying to not feel like I'm sleeping in someone else's stink. The next morning, I call downstairs and they let me know my room will be attended by room service right away. I figure it might just need a freshen up and decide I'll go to the lobby to work and stay out of the way of the cleaning service attendants. Imagine my disappointment when I return to my room 2 hours later and realize it has not been cleaned. I return downstairs, explain my situation to yet another employee who suggests a change of room. I decide that's fine and explain I was planning to work from my room in the afternoon so the sooner the better. I decide to run a 45-minute errand while they figure out what room to place me in. I return, explain my situation to a third (!!!) employee, and by this time it's noon, I have emails piling and I do not have a new room or my current room serviced yet. To their credit, the staff appears like they WANT to be helpful but they have no streamlined management accountability to resolve the most basic of issues. At this point, I have little patience left and while the staff is bumbling to figure out who dropped the ball or when the next room will be ready, I decide to return to my room to work so I'm presently sitting in a hotel room that smells like a stranger's cologne. I have not received a call from management with any updates about the status of my new room for 20 minutes. I'm not high-maintenance and I hate to be That Person but when a hotel has one job (presumably to provide a clean room and pleasant stay) and that job isn't done to any sort of acceptable standard, it's enough to warrant a bad review. I would have overlooked the grout in the bathroom tile. Collapse

I came to Wall Street for a work trip, with my business partner. The hotel arrangement was made by my client and booked on her card. When I checked in I was told my clients card was invalid. There was some delay and confusion and so I gave guest services my personal credit card, which was required for us to check in. The long and short of it is that the situation was awkwardly handled several times and is still not resolved 3 weeks later. That's my only complaint. Otherwise, the hotel was warm, friendly and so much nicer than what I had expected, especially after reading a couple of negative reviews about this location. Our room was modern and beautiful and spacious for New York. We had two beds, a couple of chairs, huge windows and a large modern bathroom with an incredible, black marble, luxury spa style, rain shower ,big enough to have a party in, with great water pressure. Super cool modern fixtures, big plush towels and lots of fun complimentary toiletries added to the feeling of luxury. We had complimentary non-alchololic refreshments & snacks and very comfortable beds with great pillows. Everything was very sparkling clean and all of the hotel staff we encountered and talked to were helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Also, we ate at the restaurant, which we found surprisingly expensive but with very good food and great service and a fully stocked bar. The location is prime to that area of lower Manhattan and the price of our room was much less than I would have expected. Collapse

I stayed here January 29 – 30, 2018 for a work trip. There is some good to mix in with the bad for this hotel. The good is it is reasonably priced, located conveniently near the financial district, the shower head puts out a lot of water, and the staff are friendly. The bad, however, outweighs the good and I hope to not stay in this hotel in the future. It is beyond loud in the room, so much so it is impossible to get a good night’s sleep. I was on the 15th floor and you constantly heard street noises 24/7 such as horns, sirens, and the back up beep of various delivery trucks. For the two nights I was here, sleep was hard to do (and I thought I could sleep through anything). You can also hear every shower, toilet flush, and turning on the sink of the rooms above, below, and next to you. The room has a faux wood laminate on the floor that was not glued down and rises and squeaks with each step across the room and the two chairs masquerading as furniture – while looking trendy and modern – have no functionality as they are not comfortable. To top it all off, the bathroom was never cleaned very well as old soap rings from bar soap and the shampoos were left from previous occupants of the room in the shower. Pretty gross. If none of that bothers you, this hotel is your place as you will save some money. On the other hand, if you enjoy a good night’s sleep and require the basic cleanliness you typically expect from hotels I would give this one a wide pass. Collapse
