We arrived at Manchester Airport Terminal 1 at 0800 on 09 February for a pre-booked, pre-paid lift back to the hotel where we had left our car two weeks earlier. The next scheduled pick up was at 0825. At 0840 when no pick up had arrived I called the hotel to ask where the minibus was. I was told by a disinterested receptionist that she didn't know and that I would have to wait for the minibus at 0900. Bearing in mind that it was absolutely freezing this wasn't good news. At 0900 a minibus with 'Britania Hotels' written on the side pulled up and the driver got out and shouted "Anyone for the Airport Inn?" When I asked him where he was at 0825 he said he was there. When I pointed out that the bus had 'Britania Hotels' written on the side and how was I to know it went to the Airport Inn he replied it was clearly marked Aiport Inn. He then lifted a windscreen wiper to show the bottom half of a A4 clipboard that had 'Airport Inn' printed on it. The top, visible half, had 'Britania Hotels' printed on it. When he put the windscreen wiper back down 'Airport Inn' was covered up. I asked him how was I was supposed to see the bottom half of the A4 clipboard his reply was 'not my fault mate". I asked him whose fault it was and he replied 'I'm not arguing with you mate'. He then drove us back to the airport one handed while drinking coffee from an open mug with the other hand. If you want to stand in the freezing cold for 35 minutes to be then picked up by a badly dressed, passive-aggressive Liam Gallagher wannabe who drives with one hand then this is the service for you. If not - look elsewhere. Choose wisely people. Collapse

I had steak but I wasn’t impressed, found it a bit chewy for £16.95 I also contacted the hotel as I lost my prescription glasses and think they probably fell on the floor by the bed, that was 2 weeks ago and I’m still waiting for a response. Very close proximity to the airport though. Collapse

Very abrupt attitude of the receptionist, Im sure she thinks she's being efficient but its not the way I like to be spoken to. Hotel has a general musty smell thats not very pleasant, paid for a superior room but alas the air conditioning which is one of the upgrades from a standard didn't work at all, reported it and whilst I was out they apparently sorted it out which when I returned to the room nothing had been done, reception then told me maintenance had gone home, was given a small electric heater and told the manager would call me as I wasn't happy to pay the rate for a superior room, surprise surprise no call!!! The bed is quite possibly the most uncomfortable thing Ive ever slept on .The safe also didn't work, curtains were ripped and tatty, food in the hotel is average at best and for a chef to be happy to serve vegetables that taste of nothing shows how little they care. I know its only an airport hotel but it could be much more professional . Collapse
