I just returned from a lovely long weekend at the Agadir Beach Club hotel. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as some of the recent review were hit and miss but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The trip was to celebrate a special birthday so we arrived the day before at midnight where we stayed in a standard double, this was basic but comfortable and we booked to a room with sea view for the following 2 nights which was lovely with fab views over the promenade. When we went downstairs for a pre-dinner drink on our first proper day in Agadir, the porter presented me with a lovely bouquet of roses for my birthday which was a lovely touch and totally unexpected. We ate in the Italian restaurant and Moroccan restaurant – both were lovely and food very tasty. We did the City tour which the ladies at the information desk helped us book and to be honest I don’t think I would do again. Our driver was a slightly strange character and was very keen to get my boyfriend on his own where at one point he insinuated that he could get him some services if need be. We did use the petit taxis from outside the hotel (little red cars) which we found great and although they are a bit outdated, they will get you from A to B and any driver we had was very pleasant. If I was to do the city tour again, I would barter with the petit taxi driver and ask him to take me around. I know the tipping situation comes up a lot in reviews and we’re not all accustomed to it but the labour is quite cheap there and a little tip goes a long way. Staff will go the extra mile if you tip but if you want to be left along and not fussed over, don’t tip. I had euros, pounds and dirhams in coins and I used this for tips, all well received. So overall, lovely break away, not to mention the sunshine, sandy beach and scenery. It’s a thumbs up from me!!! Collapse

I booked a Christmas break in Agadir Morocco 22nd Dec. to the 29th Dec. flying from Gatwick. The only problem I had was on arrival at the hotel. I was very tired after traveling overnight and most of that day. The hotel porter showed me my room and brought my luggage to my room. As the room had a bathtub with a shower, I asked him it was possible to transfer to a room with a walk in shower. He said that it was possible and the hotel would not charge me for the transfer but I must pay him for the room. He moved my luggage to another room with a walk in shower and I was happy with the room. He got angry with me when I tipped him 50Dr he demanded more so I gave him another 100Dr. that is a very big tip there. He said that it was not enough and I should give him more. I told him I didn't have more money then and I was very tired and I would sort it out in the morning. The next day as I was leaving the hotel he confronted me outside and demanded I gave him another 300Dr. I said later and walked away. Then it was like he was stalking me every time he see me he was demanding money. I called the local Expedia rep and begged him to come to the hotel to help me make a complaint. He just was not interested and would not come to the hotel. Well he is a local also so probably in on the scam. As a result of the porter stalking me I stayed away from the hotel so I did not use any of this lovely, huge hotels facilities. It ruined my holiday as I was always trying to avoid that porter Collapse

I spent a very enjoyable week at the Agadir Beach Club Hotel over the Christmas period. I booked a sea view which was just amazing waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Hotel arranged taxi airport pick up and smiling Mohammed was waiting with a large sign with my name. The check in was warm friendly and efficient. So a big thanks to Omar and also another very nice man who looked liked the person in charge. My bed was a king size and the room had a lovely aroma. The view absolutely breath-taking. It's a very large hotel and was pleasantly surprised to have good wifi for the most part in my bedroom which was a good distance from the reception. Room and hotel was kept very clean. Good nightly entertainment and a nice big sun lounging pool area if this is your thing. The only fault and area for improvement would be the breakfast organisation. An ok array of food but the staff seem to be more content chatting away among themselves than trying to help the guests. Hard to get anyones attention ( I do tip well ) but once you find your way around the breakfast room first morning you are away in a hack. A word of advice- dont leave it till the last 30 minutes to get to the breakfast as it appears to be a bit of a scramble. Front house reception are always friendly and helpful . Absolutely most definitely I 'll stay here again. Collapse

My daughter and I had the most wonderful holiday at this beautiful hotel. All staff were so helpful. Comfortable, clean, friendly, safe and walking distance of all amenities. We booked a sunway holiday with our local travel agent Hilary Murphy and our subway rep Laila was top class. She met us at the airport gave us all the information we needed and was in our hotel every morning. We booked our trips with Laila, croc park, Marrakesh, camel rides on the beach to name a few. Food was fab we had breakfast in hotel and ate out in restraunt recommend by Laila some nights. There was entertainment in the hotel every night and wifi was perfect. 29 degrees daily and a lovely breeze, pool a little cold but once in was perfect. At the end of our holiday Laila took us back to the airport and made our boarding simple. We would definitely go to this hotel again. Collapse
