On the overall aspect, rooms are big and nicely decorated and the bed is comfortable. However it can be a bit noisy, as I was able to hear my neighbours and the elevators. They provide some nespresso coffee machine, but only two: one normal and on decaffeinated and no tea. Which is clearly low. I stayed two nights and it was a shame that this wasn't refilled as well as for the complimentary water bottles. Breakfast choice is a bit limited with only some eggs, tortillas, jam, some yogurts and fruits and some bread. I hadn't had the chance to go to the gym as I had some busy working schedules but talking about work: they seem to have some problems with their ironing boards and iron, so ask in advance or be prepared. I had to use the hair dryer to sort of mask the pleats of my shirts. Some of the staff are helpful and some others not. Collapse

Just arrived in Madrid after a delightful week in Barcelona. Should probably not write this review because I am extremely cranky but I’m going to anyway. Stay tuned for future deletion as my body warms up and caffeine fuels my brain cells. It’s 12 degrees outside and our room heater doesn’t work. We had a girl come and look at it and she told us it would take a few minutes for the thermostat to kick in. We told her it had already been on for half an hour and she left telling us reception would call us. An hour later we went to reception because there was no call. Reception were unaware of our situation which makes me wonder what happened to the other girl?? Reception queries whether I had actually turned the heater on and when I reassured her that I had she told me they were full and the only option was to move to a king room. I love my sister but I don’t want to share a bed with her. I asked if there was any other option and she answered no! Absolutely no empathy or acknowledgement or apology. Charming for a front of line service staff member. She was so rude I walked away. My sister went back and asked if they had a portable heater. Nope. We also found out that they do not have anyone to look at the heater until after the weekend. Whilst she was there they questioned again whether we had turned the heater to warm. Seriously. To add insult to injury when we went back to our, cold as the receptionist’s heart room, our keys didn’t work. On presenting again to reception my sister was completely ignored by the receptionist as she served someone who came in afterwards. The younger receptionist came to our rescue only to tell us though that We must have put our keys near our phones. Of course it’s our fault the keys don’t work. Can I add I didn’t even have my phone so I think the reasoning is flawed. But way to go, blame your customers for your substandard facilities. It’s Good Friday today. A cold good Friday. So cold that we have actually gone next door to Burger King as it’s warmer here than even the lobby at the hotel. Also the internet here is faster than the free internet at the hotel just for your info and coffee is great and only 1EU!! We have two nights in this hotel. I already feel it’s two too many. Ps. I might add that the security latch on our door is missing. Doesn’t fill me with confidence at all. Where did it go? Where have all the maintenance men of Madrid run to? Where did your 4 stars come from AC Cuzco? Collapse

Overall, a disappointment. The outside noise from my hotel room was quite severe - on the first two nights, I was awoken at 2am due to the rubbish collection. I was then able to change room and there was no noise on my final night. Irons are not provided in the room and there seems to be a big shortage in the hotel. As soon as I arrived, I requested one. I waited 40 mins and then called again as it never arrived. I was then informed I was on a wait list. The next morning, still nothing and after calling, I was informed there were still no irons available. I was told I could book the ironing services and pay for it - in my opinion, this is highly unethical, as I am being forced into that situation due to the hotel's shortage which is out of my control. It seemed like a deceitful way for the hotel to get extra money for me. I asked to speak with the manager and he eventually agreed to waive the charge. Room service was not great and the free wifi was terrrible - it was very slow when it worked, but adding to the problem is that it kept cutting out. In the end I had to cut my mobile phone as a hotspot. Collapse

As a Marriott Elite customer I was very disappointed in my stay. At check-in I was impressed with the friendliness of the person who helped me but this was the highwater mark. When I walked into my room I noticed a strange smell. I couldn’t tell if it was smoke or paint. Later that evening after I was ready for bed I realized that at sometime in the past someone had broken the door in and it had been properly repaired. The safety latch that allows the door to open a few inches was missing from the door frame and the latch had been poorly patched. I wouldn’t want my wife or a female co-worker to stay in a room without a safety latch. There were no closet doors. Where were they? For a Marriott Elite member I expected a better view than a dingy rubbish filled space and air conditioning equipment. The bathroom occasionally had a smell that I can only describe as sewer gas. There isn’t a desk. Only a table in the middle of the room that is far away from an electrical outlet. For a business hotel this was ridiculous. The next evening I was in the lounge with a co-worker. They have these electronic buttons you can press for service. Don’t bother. No one will ever come. We finally flagged down a waiter and ordered two drinks. He seemed very annoyed. We never saw him again after waiting 30 minutes for our drinks. The breakfast isn’t bad. Collapse
